Sorry, been having a bad time figuring out what to do here. Our options are weird.

With control of his limbs again, Bruendor looks back to AB. "I'm going to go support Lef, I'll be back if she tries to make it to you!" With the preternatural speed on loan from Kel, he barrels towards the architect of this whole endeavor, his blade lowered. "Your magic can't save you, Allevrah! This ends today!"

A strange silence filled the chamber as Anklebiter's antimagic field sprang up around the master glyph. "You fool! You can't just interrupt a ritual of this magnitude. Weeks of labor and magic have been poured into that glyph. It will explode and kill all of us!"

Calla's arrows and Lefrik's blade bounced from Allevrah's magical wards, but Bruendor managed to get an attack through. Then, the woman cried out in pain as Kelendra's void effect took hold. Allevrah called forth her own magics, he belt defending her against reprisal. Bruendor felt yet another spell wrack him with pain, thich time threatening to tear his heart out of his chest. As he was struggling, the whip-like belt at Allevrah's waist, lashed out at Lefrik. It struck the barbarian twice, and while the damage wasn't great, he could feel the poison on the lash taking effect.

Allevrah looked down in shock as a trio of Calla's arrows, the last ones blessed by Callistria, sprouted from the dark elf's chest. She coughed, blood spewing from her mouth as together, Lefrik and Bruendor caught her in a pincer movement. Bruendor's rapier tore through Allevrah's throat, and the malevolent eyes flashed one last time as she died. The belt around her waist unraveled, then wrapped around the dark elf's head. It burst into purple flames, then disappeared, dragging something wispy and dark from Allevrah's body as it did. In the back of your mind, you heard the faintest "Noooooooooooooooo."

Lefrik's rage has ended, and with it, a deep exhaustion, "I... that was a masterful stroke, Brue.." A long breath "I... find exploding this place would be gratifying but maybe disabling the glyph?"

He kneels and takes a moment "I never kept the rage that long in my life."

Bruendor twists Bloodbane as he lands the killing blow, watching the fear in her eyes as the demons she trafficked with drag her down to whatever torments they have devised.

After staring at the blackened spot on the floor for a moment, he finally registers Anklebiter's words. "Oh, no, I'd rather live if that's still on the table! How can I help?"

"Very good, then we have a majority consensus," Anklebiter says. "Everybody ready? Magic -- ON!"

After putting himself some ten feet away from the glyph, Anklebiter dismisses the Antimagic field -- and starts rapid-casting his remaining Communal protection from energy spells on the party and unleashes a pulse of protective energy before he casts Read magic on the master glyph.

Lefrik rises to his feet again as the suggestion to get ready goes on, "Yes." He nods to Kel, "Thanks again, Kel." and he looks at all his friends at this what is their moment of.. victory. How odd. Kindhearted Kel, one of the goodliest women he'd ever had the pleasure to know, who had made him consider his own faith in Desna with more respect. Brave Bruendor, seeking some redemption for some failure of Dwarven culture, and yet here he was- saving who knew how many over the land in his steadfast way. Calla, who was as deadly with a bow as any huntress among the ulfen, and even deadlier with her tongue, but they were right, her fierce friendship might cut, but it was strong as steel. And then Anklebiter, another pariah, a goblin no less, who he trusted with his life utterly and considered a friend. Perhaps even his best friend.

This is good. He looks about, This is how it should be. Us,gathered in one last circle, to help the world that may never understand any of us. Where it will go from here, I don't know. We might yet die for all I know, abruptly and suddenly... we may live, then part, but this moment? It's good. I will take it with me beyond my death. Thank you, Desna. I longed to be a hero, so you put me in the company of heroes. If I am one, it is because they showed this ale sucking loud mouthed ulfen how. And he smiles.

Calla smirks, walking over to the body and taking her two remaining elf-bane arrows and driving them deep into the corpse's eyes.

"My mistress' power was more than you could stand again. May your soul enjoy what happens to it under the demons it's consigned to," she intones.

Smiling cruelly, she looks around at the others.

"Never cross Calistria," she proclaims, though clearly including them as part of the reason to hew to that maxim, as opposed to any sort of warning to them (though she won't be upset if they take it that way, just in case).

She looks to Anklebiter and Kelendra, giving them nods as they case their protections and her own magics fade away, and then to the glyph.

"Bruendor and Lefrik, perhaps you should wait outside. In case this glyph destroys in a way that kills us, at least two should be ready to return above and let the elves and others know what happened," she says.

As Anklebiter released his hold on magic int he local area, it was clear that the master glyph was now completely unstable. What had started as a light pulsing of purple light was now a heavy throbbing, randomly cycling through purple to green to yellow, all the colors of bruised, diseased flesh. Tendrils began reaching out, lashing around like blindly seeking hands. Within the core fo the glyph, you can see copies of each of the smaller glyphs you have already destroyed. As you watch, each one is stretched to the point of tearing, and then gone. The pulsing light turned into energy, pushing you back with each wave. Perhaps watching the show from so close wasn't such a good idea after all.

The Barbarian sucks in his gut to be a lighter burden (That's how it works right?) as they make their way to safety.. or so they hope.

Reeling in flight, you burst from the mountain temple, even as the master glyph explodes behind you. Magical energy is converted to flames as the power to call down an asteroid is released into the world. Light bursts from the temple's slitted windows, illuminating this dark realm with the brightness of a sun, searing the eyes of creatures that have lived in pure darkness for their entire lives.

The rush of energy catches up to you, throwing you off the narrow land bridge and into the freezing sea of black blood. That likely saves your lives as the magical fires burn the air around you. Diving under the water, you feel the frigid sea turning warm around you, the temperature rising to that of living blood. Desperate for air, you hold yourselves under the water as long as you can before bursting to the surface. Behind you, the mountain temple, once called the Blood Basilica, is now a rumbled heap, with most of its structure blown into the surrounding sea, or vaporized by the explosion.

Gasping in the still lung-searing hot air, you make your way back to the narrow isthmus of the middle of the island. You drag yourselves onto the bank, wincing at how hot the rocks are. You are so preoccupied with surviving the explosion, that you didn't realize you weren't alone. At least not until you heard the gentle clapping.

Turning in surprise, you see a large snake-bodied woman with six arms, each pair clapping slowly.

"Oh that was well done, adventurers. Well done indeed. My master, Abraxas, spent many years influencing Allevrah, long before she fell from the light. It took many years for that particular seed to bear fruit, but finally the darling of the surface elves fell into depravity and darkness. And into this little endeavor. It's a shame you had to stop it. I was really looking forward to watching the starstone fall once more. The first time was so...exhilarating."

"Honestly, I thought Hialin was going to be the one to fall and being this particular travesty to life, but to my surprise it was Allevrah. And now you are here. Power, yes, and the desire to use it. Vengeance, too. You could all be very useful to my master. Are you sure I can't convince you to join my side? I can provide much in the way of personal power and influence. And magical artifacts as well."

"What do you say?"

There are many things Anklebiter could have said. Insults he could have made. Prayers he could have spoken. Condemnations to shout. Right here and now, though...

"Save it," he firmly tells Calla. To Lefrik: "Keep it in the sheath." Then to Kelendra: "Kel, let's get the airbus moving again. I am tired; I want to go home and have a beer. Everybody link hands, we're off to the elf gate."

Extending his hand to Bruendor to start the link, he glances at the demon from the corner of his eye and simply, but firmly, says: "I pass on that offer. One hundred percent. Without any reservation. Goodbye."

Lefrik woots a bit as they fly, tired but at least it's exciting...

Soon it gets REALLY exciting as they are buffeted by the rush of the explosion that throws them into the freezing sea. He's no real grasp of wizardcraft but he's pretty sure if not for Anklebiter's spells, they'd be burned, then frozen then burning..

Then finally the surface, another breath and...

a six armed woman thing

He doesn't reach for his sword and does as AB says

"I'd say I didn't expect a recruitment speech," Lefrik snorts
and looks at his compatriots "Are the forces of evil really so pathetic as to show up after they've had their plans foiled to try to sway us like some drunken sot desparate for affection when the bottle's gone empty?"

The marilith laughed at Lefrik's bravado. "Plans foiled? Dear child. You mean these plans?" She held up a fistful of documents that were written in a spidery hand, with sketches of the glyps and the cyphergate clearly drawn. In a moment, they burst into flames and were reduced to ash in the demon's hand.

"The plans are already out in the world again. These were hardly the only copies of the knowledge. It is only a matter of time before another takes up the mantle. You humans, and elves, are remarkably adept at preserving your mistakes. But, if you insist you will not join, fair enough. Perhaps we'll see each other again when you are ready to change your mind. After all, you can do a lot of great things with the power I offer...for the greater good, of course."

With those parting words, the marilith disappears.

Kel links hands with her companions, slightly disappointed. "Couldn't we just anchor it and and watch it sprout feather from Calla while Lefrik rages one last time?"

Then the Marilith hisses some gibberish and disappears with a pop. "A wise choice."

Smiling, and with great plans for the new Golden Goblin, Kel is ready to depart.

"We could, if one of us had Dimensional anchor prepped, perhaps," Anklebiter says. As soon as everyone is linked, he starts the airlift. "I don't. I wanted everything nasty and planar that was there to be gone. Let's swing by the Guardian of Orv first, and tell her what happened. We can rest safely under her roof, then make the trip towards the aiura. Gods and angels, but I'm hungry. And I really do want a beer."

Bruendor hears the words the marilith spoke, but the contents did nothing to sway his heart. "She's a problem for a different day," he replies to Anklebiter. "And if all we've done is delay the second apocalypse for the timebeing, well...it was worth it. It means we have time to figure out where the knowledge is, and get rid of it. No one was meant to have this power."

He sits down for a long moment, letting out a breath that carries with it a weight he'd been carrying for...too long. "I haven't been this tired since we saved the people we could from Skyfall's aftermath. Fitting, I suppose - now that Second Earthfall won't be happening, isn't it?"

He nods at the goblin's suggestion. "Definitely, let's ldt her know that Orv is free of the drow. She might be willing to transport us back to the surface for this, once we've recovered." More was on his mind, to be sure, but he had to process his thoughts before he could articulate them to his friends.

Lefrik is unimpressed that the demon has written copies of plans. After all, he knows a GOBLIN who can write (Better than he can to be honest, but the point is it's not a rare skill) "Somehow I think a 'matter of time' could mean many centuries. We'll tell the elves. That long life span of theirs should be good for that kind of thing."

A grunt "Ready to go."

After catching your breath and deciding on an immediate course of action, you headed off to talk to the shaitan and tell her of your victory. She is quite impressed, telling you she felt it when you destroyed each of the glyphs in turn, and ending with the master glyph - the power backlash nearly blinding her earth sense ability. In thanks for all that you had done, she grants you a single greater teleport scroll, allowing you to go anywhere in the world you could visualize.

Where do you want to go?
