The fascinated vrocks stood stupidly as you closed the gaps. Bruendor charged the one not currently stupefied, and gashed it badly enough that the demon was unable to steel its mind against Anklebiter's spell. The deva and Lefrik closed with the glabrezu, taking advantage of their surprise to get in close.
Time seemed to slow as you engaged in combat, and only Bruendor felt as if he was moving at full speed.
Wow, what horrible init rolls!

Ooof, that's bad for my vrock.
Not one to let up on the advantage, Bruendor becomes a whirlwind of strikes, lashing out not just with his sword, but battering the vulture demon with his shield. As he ramps up his attacks, a wordless scream of vengeance issues from him as he releases the toll of his adventures upon this fiend.

Bruendor's flurry of attacks shredded the vrock in front of him, nearly dismembering it. It held on, however, glaring at the dwarf with its one remaining eye. The glabrezu returned the favor, tearing into the deva with vicious glee. It's massive jaws and claws ripped into the angel, pulling gobbets of celestial flesh apart. Then, it latched on with both of its massive pincers and tore the movanic deva in two. One of the claws caught Lefrik on the backswing, leaving a deep wound in his shoulder.

Kelendra's spell washed over teh vrock, but its magical defenses were enough to protect it from the spell. In a flurry of brutal strikes, Lefrik rips his vrock foe to shreds, sending gouts of blood and gore around. The vrock, very near death, went into a paroxysm of attacks, beak and claws thrashing. Several of the attacks scratch Lefrik, though none with the power that other enemies had laid upon him in the past.
Across the way, Calla's arrows flew one after another into the dancing vrock, sending it reeling. Bruendor managed to stab it once before Anklebiter's spell finished the creature off.
With its allies gone, and its body badly damaged, the vrock's heart gave out, and it crashed to the ground. The area in front of the gate was silent, except for Lefrik's cursing about the spores in his arms. You remembered that bless or holy water could cure the spores, and it was easy enough to heal the wounds, but time was not on your side. Surely someone heard the demon howls and would be out to check on them soon!

Magic traps such as glyph of warding are hard to detect and disable. While any character can use Perception to find a glyph, only a character with the trapfinding class feature can use Disable Device to disarm it. So I would assume Brue can do it.

Botting to help move things along
Disabling magical spells isn't Bruendor's forte, but he finally managed to defeat the one on the doors. He carefully pushed them open to reveal a large entry chamber. There were doors on both sides of the long hall-like chamber, and the interior was filled with a dim light emanating from the thousands of runes etched into the walls. The ceilings were high, too, soaring to 25-30 feet above.
| Calumny "Calla" Tas'vere |
Calla looks around, not bothering to detect magic, because it's clear magic abounds. She waits for Bruendor to check for traps as they enter, helping him listen at each door to hear what's in there.
Let's assume Brue checks the hallway for traps. I'll listen at each door -- top left, bottom left, top middle, bottom middle, double doors, in that order -- if I get the all-clear. I say let's open them in that order, pending results of all our checks.

I haven't heard from Bruendor in a couple of weeks, despite a PM, so I am putting him on permanent GMPC until he check back in.
Initiatives:
anklebiter 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
kelendra 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
bruendor 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
calla 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
lefrik 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
acolytes 11d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
acolytes 21d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Bruendor stuck out a hand as Calla and the homunculi started to move to check the doors. He was on the lookout for traps, and spotted something in the middle of the room. It was another of the glyphs! Before he could disarm it, the doors to the adjacent rooms flew open and acolytes began pouring into the hall. each doorway held two female drow, and each was surrounded by a swirled black aura with multi-hued sparks of color interwoven.
Two in the lead stepped in with swords raised, lashing out at Calla, while their partners cast spells. Calla easily turned aside the blows, then felt her limbs stiffen as one of the spells wrapped around her. Then, the entire battlefield turned completely silent as the second spell took effect.
Calla needs to make a DC18 will save or be paralyzed.

Thanks. Hope he's OK. :(
Will (with Shake It Off), stalwart: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Wait, I'm an archer! How did I get so far ahead of everyone else?! (Normally I hang back; that said, my flat-footed is 21, so one of those might have hit?)
Calla sneers as their weak magic can't overpower her faith. Vengeance will be hers when it's her turn!

Kel calls down a blessing of fervor upon the party.
With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).
Increase its speed by 30 feet.
Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.
These effects are not cumulative with similar effects, such as those provided by haste or a speed weapon, nor do they actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round. Blessing of fervor does not stack with haste.

As Kelendra's spell washed over the party, Bruendor felt three more take effect as the drow acolytes in the back moved forward to cast. One wraked his body in pain and caused his limbs to slow. The other two tried to freeze him in place. The fourth acolyte int eh back stepped forward with a metal-tipped wand in her hand. With hardly a word she cast a spell, slinging a lightning bolt out to run down Calla, Kelendra, and Lefrik.
Bruendor takes 20 chaotic damage and is slowed for 6 rounds. DC 18 Will save to halve the damage and ignore the slow effect.
Bruendor is paralyzed for 9 rounds, unless he makes two DC 18 Will saves.
Calla, Kelendra, and Lefrik each take 15 electricity damge. Reflex DC 18 for half.

Calla, reacting quickly after her initial surprise, ducks the worst of the lightning bolt as she steps back, bringing her bow to bear!
Calling on her goddess, she launches a hail of arrows at the yellow-dressed drow. "Protect Beardless," she calls out. If he goes down, target blue at AE-41 next.

It takes Bruendor all his mental fortitude to resist the first enchantment, which is all the opening the other two need for their spells to strike home. He once again feels his limbs refuse to move, and finds himself at the cruel mercies of the drow.
| Calumny "Calla" Tas'vere |
Anklebiter, seeing his friend in trouble, quickly casts, hoping to end the magics affecting Bruendor, as well as on the four nearest drow.
He flits back away from trouble 5-foot step to AE-35
Caster level check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Area Dispel: When greater dispel magic is used in this way, the spell affects everything within a 20-foot-radius burst. Roll one dispel check and apply that check to each creature in the area, as if targeted by dispel magic. For each object within the area that is the target of one or more spells, apply the dispel check as with creatures. Magic items are not affected by an area dispel.
For each ongoing area or effect spell whose point of origin is within the area of the greater dispel magic spell, apply the dispel check to dispel the spell. For each ongoing spell whose area overlaps that of the greater dispel magic spell, apply the dispel check to end the effect, but only within the overlapping area.
If an object or creature that is the effect of an ongoing spell (such as a monster summoned by summon monster) is in the area, apply the dispel check to end the spell that conjured that object or creature (returning it whence it came) in addition to attempting to dispel one spell targeting the creature or object.
Unfortunately, may affect beneficial spells too, but I think this was a better choice than fireball, which is what it looked like the next best option was.

@Lefrik - Blessing of Fervor is like Haste. You only get the extra attack as part of a full attack action. But, I cna give you the +2 to hit and AC for the round, instead.
Bruendor felt his muscles seize, then relax again as Anklebiter's spell took effect. Of course, he also felt his fervor leaving him, but he could deal with that. From behind, he heard Lefrik crash into one of the acolytes, and her cry as the man's weapon hit. The drow immediately behind him fell to the ground with two of Calla's arrow impaling her, and a quick look showed him that the other three had lost their protective auras due to Anklebiter's spell.
Still need Bruendor's action for the round, thanks to Callabiter
