Haha, no. I was surmising the origin of those smoke bombs. :)

That makes more sense.

The smoke bombs came from Breath of the Yellow Rose, DDEX 2-6.

That's also the only PBP game I've run where a PC died.

Ah, interesting. I ran A Thousand Tiny Deaths and there were some alchemical bombs that you could recover... I thought it was from that one... :p

Yeah we took that on a little head first...

This is brutal. As an experienced player, I know this happens. But it is frustrating, going through the whole adventure bumbling through failing most of the rolls, then getting to combat and being sidelined.

Sorry, I just needed to vent. Good luck everyone!!! ^_^

Sorry. :(

When I first read the module, I had expected to use a different table for the madness roll. But when I got to it, the table provided was for Level 3 madness only, and it said to use the table in the DMG instead.

I remember using these tables when I ran Out of the Abyss, and I always wondered about 1d10 minutes - it seemed to never matter for my players! But here, right at the outset of combat, it can really have a harsh effect.

From what I can tell, Level 1 last one combat. Level 2 lasts one AL module. And level 3 is permanent.

I'm going to post on Google+ to see if there are other ways to bring you back in to the fight.

No worries, man. It happens. The only thing I can think of is if the demon has an area effect damage spell, or one of the PCs tries to snap me out of it by hurting me. *shrug*

If it is natural, I am happy to rejoin the fight, but if not, it happens. Definitely will scar Beryl for life... ;)

We can definitely hurt you if you want! I can certainly imagine a common kobold "cure" for madness being to attack your ally. You either snap them out of it or kill them off before they turn on you. :)

Male v. human | DCI #6203763429 fighter 4 | hp 38/44 | AC 16/18 | Pass PER 10 | Init +1 | Saves: Str +5, Con +6

I picture someone slapping Beryl to snap him out of it, it doesn't work. So they slap harder. Still nothing. Then full unarmed attack! >.<

To be honest, I would feel worse if it were someone else that got his with this madness... :p

At you you can get punched out of it. Skyreavear's roll didn't give that option. And there's still two more players to roll.

Jiro doesn't understand - there are slaps LESS than a full unarmed attack? Big folk are strange. :)

Male v. human | DCI #6203763429 fighter 4 | hp 38/44 | AC 16/18 | Pass PER 10 | Init +1 | Saves: Str +5, Con +6

Oh Jiro... :p

Oh damn, I didn't even realize that Sky was stunned for minutes!

Damn, lesser restoration doesn't help with the stunned condition either...

This is pretty debilitating...

EDIT: Don't know why, but the first time I looked, I thought that Sky was eating dirt... :p

Lesser Restoration removes the madness entirely, and therefore also removed the stun.

Calm Emotions, Lesser Restoration, Dispel Evil, and Remove Curse will all work.

Only the last three remove madness. The first one just removes the symptoms.

Male v. human | DCI #6203763429 fighter 4 | hp 38/44 | AC 16/18 | Pass PER 10 | Init +1 | Saves: Str +5, Con +6

Nice! Dispel Evil and Remove Curse are 3rd lvls, though, right? Lesser restoration may be an option, though I hope that Sky wasn't the only one that could cast it... :p

Female Aasimar Paladin1 | AC17 | HP 11/11 | PP 11 | Init +1 | Saves: S+2;D+1;C+1;I+0;W+3;Ch+5

It is almost certainly worth someone taking the time to hit Beryl, assuming its not too metagamey to know that would work.

Jiro can slap beryl and I'll slap skyreaver? Hope I don't miss!

Looks like I was too quick on the draw, Ragnar!

Well use my rolls, since they're already posted and in order.

Male v. human | DCI #6203763429 fighter 4 | hp 38/44 | AC 16/18 | Pass PER 10 | Init +1 | Saves: Str +5, Con +6

@Alysha, sadly I do not think that will work... :( The only thing that will help her is magic... Anyone have lesser restoration or calm emotions?

I get confused sometimes, but is that actual "irony ironic" or just "Alanis Morissette ironic"?

Maybe there’s some deep meaning in the fact that the only one who can help you is yourself!

But Jiro has a pocketful of random holy symbols that he has no idea what gods they are. Probably not helpful either, huh? :)

You know the best thing about Ironic by Alanis? It's actually an ironic song, since none of the examples she uses are examples of irony.

To make it easier, irony is just the use of a word other than (or opposite to) it's literal intention.

Sarcasm is a great example of irony.

I'm going to try to get a post up tonight.
After that, I'm spending the weekend moving all my stuff to my new house, so I probably won't have time to post this weekend.

But I'll try.

This is the official end of Hillsfar Reclaimed, DDEX 3-12.

Yay! FYI this was officially my first AL experience! (Plenty of gaming, just never actually tried organized play before.)

Thanks to the DM and the rest of you for making it a fun adventure! Hope to see you around the boards more in the future.

Yay, Jiro! I'm glad you had fun! Same goes for everyone else!

This module was a bit different, and not very much combat. I like modules like that, for it reminds me that there are other pillars in the game (combat, social, exploration), and AL does take into account all three when they write adventures.

It'll be a few days before I can get the log sheets up.

I'm training three new people at work in two different labs, on top of all my normal work, so I can't go online at work like I usually can.

And then tonight an old friend from the army will be in town, who I haven't seen in years, so I'm hosting dinner for him.

And on top of all that, I'm still unpacking from the move. I'm hoping I can get the logsheets before the weekend.

I'll PM everyone in this game when it's up to give you first choice to join the game.

I'll close this game in a few days to give everyone a chance to get the info for th Logsheet.
