My vote is to recruit. If Ava returns, even better.
I blame autocorrect and it being the week before finals! My apologies toAva.

Yup, it's a girl. All we can agree upon is the middle name Ann. My vote for first name is Batma.
This would be far superior to naming the poor girl Hashtag!
I weep for Society and its all too inevitable decline. =\

Speaking of treasure tracking, it says here that the group acquired 10 potions of CLW at some point, but I don't think we actually divided them up. We really should remember to bring them next time.
Also, does anyone know a good way for me to share the tables with you guys? It's currently on excel (With all the fancy weight formulas and total wealth tracking), but I'm not sure how to get everyone a copy.

GM Mug |

Google docs, currently called google drive. It's what I use to share the maps with y'all, but they have excel, word, presentation, and a few other applications, all online.
You could have a permanent link to it in your character profile. That's my suggestion anyways. Also, Dropbox is a file storage site I like to use and has some easy sharing features.

Ava Wavesdotter |

I may or may not be able to access the internet over the next five days. If you don't hear from me again in the next 48 hours, feel free to bot me. Adding a tactics section to Ava's bio.

GM Mug |

FYI, you have cleared the 2nd floor and checked in all rooms. There is a chest in the same room you broke down the wall (the room with the beds) which was never dealt with, as well as a disappearing goblin last seen in the northeastern room.
I can't believe you can't read my maps. They are works of art which I spend hours on, meticulously creating every tiny detail! ;)

Ava Wavesdotter |

We can always go back for it afterwards, as I presume we'll just do a take-20 search sweep once we have time. HOWEVER, I doubt Ava would pass up any treasure for any reason, so lets have her go back and fantasize about its contents before springing the Glyph of Warding that's been cast on it.
The good news is it looks like I can get a bit of internet after all, so no need to bot.

Re: healer replacement; I have a friend who's in a different game who'd be interested in joining the party. Shall I send him your way, Mug?

![]() |

Confound it, why does THIS feat exist if you can already overrun as part of a charge?
... now I really am confused. I've been away from my books too long.
I think, if I'm reading that right, it lets you overrun someone on your way to overrunning a second. It adds a free overrun as a free action.
If there were two enemies in the way, and you wanted to storm past both, you could get an overrun on the first guy (charge through) and then a standard overrun (or improved to avoid an attack of opportunity). If the first one fails, the charge stops there.
How would you rule on it Mug?

GM Mug |

Hmm, after reviewing things here is my ruling.
Overrun only mentions affecting/interacting one targeted creature, which you either run through or past. So only one creature can be affected with this maneuver.
Charge Through lets you Overrun (as a free action) a secondary creature in the course of charging a main target beyond the secondary creature. So two creatures could be affected by this maneuver. Basically just how you described it Corneleous.
We can discuss it further if someone understand these differently, but for now that's how we'll play it.

Twigs |

Yup! Sounds good to me, I'm toying with the idea of heading down that feat tree when I can swap one of my fighter feats at level 4. I'm fussing a lot more about my positioning with Lucon in all the tight quarters we've been fighting with, and I figure buffing up my dex and taking Combat Reflexes and the like would really help me protect the squishies.
As for my action, as I said if it's an illegal move I'll charge the nearest goblin. I figured I'd gotten a bit carried away with my interpretation, but I change my mind every time I read the manuever what I can do with it. Anyway, no need to hold up on my account!

GM Mug |

@Caladius - That is a good question, I was using his pre-made dice rolls under his profile, but didn't even notice the bonus. Looking into it, I haven't seen much to explain that +1. Maybe he was using the Enhanced Cures revelation for oracles which they can add a +1 for each Oracle level for all healing spells...? Although looking into that possibility indicates that it only applies to Cure spells, and doesn't include channels.
Just guessing though...

Enko Laberan |

It's the Channelling Domain, which grants a bonus to chanelling while channelling. -straightface- [yo dawg, I heard you like chanelling]

Enko Laberan |

Chanellina, Chanellina, please bring down your concertina...what, no Harry Belafonte fans here?
This will all be moot when Amon dies a glorious botted death.

Ava Wavesdotter |

Oh lawdy, don't even get me started on botted deaths. I still remember when a botted PC got critted by a power attacking redcap. For those who don't know, redaps use scythes dealing 2d4+16 on the power attack. Needless to say, the x4 critical brought her from full to 0 in a single hit.
Ever since, redcap criticals have been the bane of my players. Twig's eponymous character in fact was disemboweled by a blind-swinging redcap who'd just been slammed with a blindness/deafness.
But yeah, tangents aside, botting always seems to end fatally for PCs in my campaigns, so I tend to just put them on a bus until they can play. I guess it's different for PbPs, though.

Twigs |

He forgot to mention that said character death was the first encounter of the first game after what may have been four or five months of hiatus. Said game did not last beyond that through the laughter, given that character creation had taken the better half of the morning...

Ava Wavesdotter |

Whoo, level 3! Mug, can you take a look at this?
Rumormonger
I get that this level from Charlatan, but I don't think I'd be able to use it at all (As I'm pretty sure Westcrown is a Metropolis). As the campaign seems like we'll be spending the majority of time here, could I possibly use the ability to apply to specific districts of the city instead of the whole thing? (With the DCs adjusted according to the size, or whatever?)

GM Mug |

I'll check that Ava, and get back to you.
For everyone, please put your level changes here for me to look over. HP is half your level plus 1 OR you can roll for it +1. Take the higher of the two. Show spells, feats, etc... whatever you're getting for your new level. Display it in a post in this here discussion thread please. Thanks!

Caladius Rend |

Level 3!
HP's: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
+1 BAB
+1 Will Save
+Favored Community (replaces Favored Terrain)
While inside the limits of this community, he gains a +2 bonus on initiative checks and Knowledge (local), Perception, Stealth, and Survival skill checks. An urban ranger traveling through his favored community leaves no trail and cannot be tracked (although he may leave a trail if he so desires).
+Trapfinding (replaces Endurance)
Feats
+Quickdraw
Skill Points (7)
+1 Bluff
+1 Disable Device
+1 Intimidate
+1 Knowledge (local)
+1 Perception
+1 Stealth
+1 Survival
Similar to Ava's question, should I designate all of Westcrown as a favored community or would a particular district count as a community instead?

Ava Wavesdotter |

HP: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
+1 BAB, +1 Fort/Will
+2d6 sneak attack, Rumormonger
Skill points (9)
Acrobatics +1
Bluff +1
Diplomacy +1
Disable Device +1
Knowledge (Local) +1
Perception +1
Escape +1
Stealth +1
UMD +1
Feats
Power Attack

Lucon |

Hrm, feats feats feats...
L2 - Imp. Overrun [Swap at level 4]
L3 - Charge Through
L4 - Weapon Focus
L5 - Combat Reflexes
L6 - Weapon Specialisation
L7 - Gr. Overrun
L8 - Stunning Fist
L9 - Imp Bull Rush
L10 - Quick Bull Rush
L11- Greater Weapon Focus
L12 - Greater Weapon Spec.
I'm looking at something like this. Shield-fighting is too feat-intensive for my tastes and I think shields are underrated so probably won't rush into two-handed power attacking. I could squeeze grapple in there, but really, I doubt I'll have the free hands to use it. I could also look at Disruptive, or the Covering Defense and Bodyguard feats from the APG. Punishing Kick is also an alternative to Stunning Fist. Decisions Decisions!
Any thoughts on this? I'm pretty sure this build will allow me to cover the maximum amount of arses (provided Enko doesnt run so deep next time!) But there's always room for improvement.

Enko Laberan |

I was just tryin' to save our tiefling-hating girl ranger! :D Seriously, how many cases of mange does one fellow have to get--nB bring out kama when oozes are about...
Flowing Monks don't get Stunning Fist anyhow. :) Bodyguard is a great feat, or so I hear. I do think that you'd make an excellent charger.
Enko's plans go as follows:
1- Dodge, Imp Trip
3- Crane Style
5- Crane Wing
6- Combat Reflexes
7- Vicious Stomp
9- Crane Riposte (see a pattern?)
10- Mobility
12- Imp Reposition or Spring Attack
Monks start to suck in a few levels, but I don't mind being Mr. Acrobatic Flanker. If there are untrippable opponents, of course, I use up my one big trick. However, starting at Level 3, flowing monks gain AC the more opponents they are near, so I'll be good with mooks.

Ava Wavesdotter |

What are your thoughts on Prestige Classes, Mug? More specifically the Low Templar PrC.
With a tweak to the fluff, I think it might work (with an enmity towards devils and devilbinders rather than demons and the worldwound). If you greenlight it, I might grab a level of cavalier and head down the Low Templar path (Using some sort of weird scout/mounted combat build). Might be interesting.

GM Mug |

Ava, as Westcrown is a Metropolis and this is a fairly important ability for the Charlatan I'll give you some options here. Strictly Out of Character of course.
1) Westcrown can be broken into 3 big Paregos and 8-10 smaller regos. For purposes of using Rumormonger we can treat Westcrown as a Metropolis DC35, but the Paregos can be Small Cities DC25, and the Regos can be Large Towns DC20. This is an imperfect system and also I'd not specifically planned to separate the city into sections like this. While I'll try, this may lead to a lack of use of this skill.
2) I'd be willing to hear you make a case for another, more useful, Advanced Talent which we could put in place for Rumormonger. But, be aware, that I may let you switch or I may have you keep the Rumormonger. In a word, you knew was Charlatan was when you picked it up, so don't expect big changes, it's just a possibility.
Those are your options in regard to Rumormonger.
Just saw your prestige class question. I'm headed out the door so I'll review it later tonight or tomorrow.

Ava Wavesdotter |

That's fair. I'm more than happy to keep rumormonger regardless of the outcome (Even if I can't use it for a while), as any other advanced talents would be a bit too OP for this level. I would prefer the first option, but you don't have to make any special concessions if it's too much trouble. I mostly want it to be able to talk up the Torchbearers (or talk down the opposition).
Thanks for taking the time to look through this stuff though, I do appreciate it.

Lucon |

Lucon has taken Improved Overrun and gotten armor training. All hsi numerical boosts are done. We just need to figure out our profits.

Last day of finals here, so I'm a bit swamped. I will hopefully have time to get to this tonight.
Here's the basics:
Level: Wizard (Conjurer)
HP 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 + 1 favored class
Feat:
Skills +9
Spells added to spellbook:
Web
Invisible
