What are your thoughts on Prestige Classes, Mug? More specifically the Low Templar PrC.
With a tweak to the fluff, I think it might work (with an enmity towards devils and devilbinders rather than demons and the worldwound). If you greenlight it, I might grab a level of cavalier and head down the Low Templar path (Using some sort of weird scout/mounted combat build). Might be interesting.
Ava, this got lost in the shuffle and I never responded. I have now reviewed it and I don't see anything wrong with the class. The nature of this AP, and my GM style, makes me feel confident that you could go this class without a big mechanical hiccup. Plus it sounds like it could make for some interesting storytelling.

Oh, awesome. Yeah, it should be fun. Order the Cockatrice and this class felt like they fit her concept well, and could take it in an interesting direction. Plus, I've honestly never seen this sort of thing done before. I should be able to keep my roguish skills topped up well enough, but it looked like I had some overlap with Caladius anyway, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
Cheers!

Just wanted to say I'm eager to resolve the conflict, just don't have a comp to do it from. If I tried to do that from my phone id probably blow a gasket. So, if Ill try to get to a comp in the next few hours otherwise were looking at late late tonight. Just an fyi. Oh, one more thing, I'm really looking forward to this fight. Bwahahahaha! ahem... excuse my maniacle laugh.

It's a nice feeling not being a glass cannon for a change. I can get the party in trouble and just hide behind my tower shield. :P
Sabinus
Hi everyone. I, Sabinus/Voomer, am an old friend of Enko/Axolotl. He told GM Mug I might be interested in joining the game and GM Mug recruited me. Sabinus is a witch with healing abilities. He is a buffer/debuffer. Definitely not a melee fighter. There's lots of information about his background, etc. in his profile. I've been reading the gameplay thread and look forward to joining you all!

It is my understanding that total cover only applies to the shield bearer.
Enemies would get the standard soft-cover bonus from attacks on the far side of the shield bearer, but the verbiage for total cover is specific to the bearer, and I'm not gonna deviate from that for reasons of simplicity.
Does that make sense? Anyone have anything to add?
Lucon
Basically you have soft cover if there's somebody adjacent to you that's between the attacker and you.
If they attack me head on you're looking at +2AC for soft cover and -4 to hit unless you have precise shot. I'd hoped to just hold them off while you deal with the spooks from the darkness, but I can change that plan if necessary.
Doesn't darkvision work in the Pathfinder-version of the darkness spell? I could swear it did. You and Ava shouldnt have any trouble picking off the mooks in the eastern hallway.
Caladius Rend
I'm not asking about me shooting over toward the doggies, those are your problem now =) Besides, there's a mummy down this hallway I really want to tangle with =P
I'm trying to figure out if you (Lucon) can take AoO's against someone on the other side of your shield. Say someone is adjacent to you and on the other side of your tower shield and they try to stand up from prone... can you take an AoO against them?
GM Mug
Just softcover from people behind the shield bearer.
I see it like this, the 'wall' aspect of the tower shield is a standard action to set the directional 'wall' against incoming attacks. If enemies move around the other side of that shield, the bearer can make a quick Spartan-like attack around it (aka: AoO) and then quickly jam it back into place.
In general, cover of any kind prevents attacks of opportunity, just like you said.
Sabinus
Actually, forget it. I can just take a free 5 foot step next round and still have both my standard and move actions available.
Sabinus
I think Caladius and Ava are coming up to join us, to meet the new threat coming from up the stairs. Although I admit I'm a little unclear on how we take them out, if they are all plugged up behind Lucon's shield.
By the way, Sabinus' cackling sounded a bit like this:

I can't get that far down anyhow in one round, so it's good.
Great, now I have a terrible, terrible line from Attack of the Clones in my head.
Ava Wavesdotter
Oh yeah, I forgot to ask.
Does Caladius have Darkness as a spell-like ability as well? This encounter's got me thinking on the awesome synergy it could have with both himself and Ava (and the viscount, to a lesser extent), if he does have it. If he doesn't have it, maybe we could consider getting some scrolls of it in the future. Might be cool.
Also: "THIS ONE IS NOT FOR EATING!"
"What about his legs? He don't need those."
This discussion should happen every time he summons a devil.

Nope, no darkness innate spell-like ability for me. I took the Infernal Bastard campaign trait and got light as at at-will SLA instead.
Higher level ones will want your soul instead.

Can we see where we are at the end o' Round 13?
Ha, and who's carrying potions of CLW? If I'm too far behind everyone else for melee, I can give Crispy Ava a swig.
