Appearance: Lucon is a bear of a man, a few inches taller than most, and twice as broad. He's covered in coarse black hair, matted with sawdust, and sports a thick black beared covering ruddy, wrinkled features and deep-set grey eyes. He wears a rolled-up work short, suspenders, a thick apron, thick woolen breeches and a pair of ragged boots, with a small blue flower tucked away in his breast pocket. He carries himself stiffly, back bent and shoulders hunched by a lifetime of hard work under the heel of Queen Abrogail, but Lucon never gives the impression that he's unhappy with his lot. Behind his gruff exterior is hidden a kindly, cheerful soul with a remarkable talent for whistling.
About Lucon: Born and raised in East Rikkan, a few miles upriver, Lucon was a soft-spoken giant of a boy who was quietly content to follow, whether in the mischief of his older brothers or the workshop of his traditionally-minded father. At fourteen, he made his way to Westcrown to start his apprenticeship at a small workshop in the Rego Pena on the docks, under his master, Giorg, working hard by day and frequenting the local tavern, the "Bell of the Sea", by night. The Bell of the Sea is a rather small tavern well-known for it's predominantly-halfling clientele and mediocre food. It is less well known as the home of the secret Bellflower Network, an organisation of freed halfling slaves that few know actually exists. Lucon found the small-folk more agreeable than most, but he was truly there for the beautiful priestess of Shelyn, Rebecca. A tiller for the Bellflower Network. One night, against his better judgement, he followed her. The young man had never seen the Dusk Markets before. The dizzying array of sscreams and smells, the bartering of drugs, stolen goods, and worst of all flesh (both alive and dead) offended something to the man's very core. When Rebecca was caught trying to free several slaves, Lucon rushed to her aid, fists swinging and voice roaring. Narrowly, they evaded capture. He would help her on many more "harvest moons" before their wedding day. Married in the church of Shelyn, the man, now with a workshop of his own, would harbour many lost souls in his workshop before moving them to the Bell of the Sea and to freedom. Rebecca was, and remains, more than he can handle, and he quickly folds under her stern gaze and fiery passion. There is violence in the air in Westcrown. As Lucon's sons grew older the pair, fearing for the boys safety, found their visits to the Bell of the Sea becoming fewer and fewer, and in recent years Lucon has hardly left his workshop at all, working tirelessly to provide for his family. There he is helped by his nephew, Tomas, a stout lad of 19 with a meticulous head for business. His two younger boys, Aric (15) and Torren (8) prove a handful, but produce fine work for their age. Aric, Lucon fears, is easily swayed. Lucon wishes to keep him sheltered from the brewing revolution in Westcrown. Torren, his mothers favourite, is still far too young to handle a sawblade. The boy often runs off to play with the other dock children instead of working, but Lucon is not concerned. There is plenty of time to whip the lad into shape. However, the boy comes home later and later each night, for which Lucon scolds him fiercely. He knows that... things lurk the shadows of Westcrown in increasing numbers, and will do anything to protect his sons from it... Family:
Rebecca Tauranor, 29 (F human cleric of Shelyn/2) - an auburn haired, rosy cheeked priestess and Lucon's wife. The years haven't muted her beauty or her fiery passion. She's no stranger to the attentions of the hellknights, previously working for the Bellflower Network and openly overseeing a small shrine to Shelyn in the city. Unlike Lucon she's been a Wiscrani her entire life and is very sympathetic to the Torchbearer cause. However, the lives of their children are important to her, and if swayed by her husband she may flee with her children to Kintargo.
Tomas, 19 (M human commoner/1, expert/1) - a stout hard working lad and Lucon's nephew and finishing his apprenticeship, Tomas has gradually taken more and more responsibility from his uncle as he grows older. He's relatively simple, but has a good head for business. He's more than capable of running the workshop in Lucon's absense. Aric, 15 (M human commoner/1) Young and reckless, and easily swayed and distracted, Aric is a good worker provided Lucon keeps one eye on him. Lucon fears for young Aric constantly as he grows more and more independent, fearing he will be caught up in the brewing revolution and do something foolish. Torren, 9 (M young human commoner/1) A young boy that spends his days playing on the docks and is too young to handle a sawblade. Prone to stay out late despite Lucon's tales of horrific shadowbeasts lurking the streets. Lucon has a habit of ruffling the boys hair and hoisting him up on his shoulders, and the boy and his father have been inseperable since Aric grew too old for horseplay. Build Plan:
