-deletes "flail fail" joke- life may be better if you get a flanking buddy. Can we turn Tavi into a zombie?

I asked Twigs to notify Ava, and I am notifying everyone else, that Ava will be taking our skill monkey position. So congrats to Ava!
We look forward to seeing a introductory post here. As far as intro IC, I'll handle that when the party returns to Arael and the hideout... assuming you've posted here in the discussion thread, and I've had a chance to put my stamp of approval on your character by that time.

I had almost thought you'd forgotten about me. Needless to say, I'm very pleased to be gaming with you folks. I haven't gotten to read through the entire game, so I'll have to do some catch-up.
What sort of intro do you want me to do?

            Me, forget stuff? Never!
For an intro here, just tell us where you're from, your gaming interests and experience, and anything else you'd like to share.
I'll introduce Ava as a recent inductee to the Torchbearers. It'll be assumed she knows Janiven (Arael's right hand person) and Arael himself. If you could post a history (the longer the better, but length is up to you) and physical description under Ava's profile, that'd be very helpful.
So for now catch up on the reading like you said, and be on the lookout for new posts as the group moves on. Soon enough you'll see Arael's introduction of Ava to the others, and you'll recognize your cue.

Alright then. As you may have surmised, I am an Australian. I play a lot of tabletop, most just casually, but the range is pretty big. I've been playing D&D for about five or six years (Maybe more, I can't remember for sure), pretty much being the DM constantly from the get-go. Somehow I've become notorious for having a high mortality rate in my campaigns, as Twigs'll probably attest. I'm a writer, an artist, a sculptor - a bit of a Renaissance Man (or so I'd like people to believe). Aside from that, there's nothing terribly exciting about me.
I'll try and push my way through the posts and get a cliffnotes from Twigs at the end to bring it all together. I should have, at the very least, a physical description and what I've already written transferred to her profile sometime within the next eight hours. With the weekend coming up, I should be able to have everything 100% hammered out without too much trouble.
If you need any additional hooks, keep in mind that Ava is also an information broker - She could be holding onto a tender piece of info that the PCs need. Once again, thanks for including me - It's been a while since I've been the gamer and not the game master.

Responding to Amons take on Bluff, Diplo, and Intimidate:
I agree, but I think where I see someone being encouraged or guided (whatever) to recognize that motivation, then that also qualifies in my mind. Like in the most recent batman movie, Bane gently placing his hand on that weaselly business mans shoulder and asking him in a quiet voice, "Do you feel in control?". A subtle, but effective approach... in my opinion.
I realize that these skills leave some room for interpretation, and so should be clarified. I do enjoy hearing your thoughts and ideas on these things.
This made me think of another situation where a character of mine told nothing but truths to someone. He was trying to leave out some information, but didn't outright lie in any of his statements. The GM made me roll bluff, even though I didn't feel my character lied.
Anyways, long story short, these skills are a bit of a gray area, and that's how I perceived that situation.

I've always seen Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate as being ways to increase motivation. But if a character already has motivation, such as avoiding being killed, a check doesn't seem absolutely necessary.
Oh I also forgot that along with increasing motivation, these skills also can be used to try and change someones attitude. Basically synonymous with increasing motivation, like motivating someone to see something or someone differently than they currently do.

As my other games have recently folded due to the dreaded Disappearing Game Master Syndrome, I would like to say once again--THANK YOU, Mug, for being such a consistent and consistently awesome GM. No other game has been run as well technically nor atmospherically/roleplaywise in my experience. Huzzah! And cheers to the Torchbearers! Inventive lot, aren't we?
By the way, apparently you can't throw a Tanglefoot Bag as an AoO--it's not a melee attack. Personally, I find the fact that you can't toss something sticky at point blank range a little implausible, but felt obligated to mention that it's not allowable RAW---especially since I used it and would use it again. ;)

Just trying to do my part to keep Monks from sucking.
High strength! High strength! I can't stress this enough! When we made the jump to pathfinder my 3.5 rogue (lanky cockney bandit with moderate strength, improved grapple, and a mean left hook... "Twigs") became a 9th level monk, just to try things out.
He was the ultimate glass cannon. He did damage like we'd never seen at the table before, and given that his fellow PCs were an oracle (blegh) and a 3.5 warlock (double blegh), I was basically doing all the work.

Yeah, if I made a monk like that, I'd make an oread Tetori, maybe with sacred mountain (do they stack?). They need AC help, though, at lower levels. Enko is designed to annoy (well, trip) and be untouchable, something that works flavor wise with the Upper Reach and something I figured would be okay in a large party. So far so good! Mayyyybe the fix will come in time so that I can apply damage bonus via dex or wis...that's what I pray to Iomedae, er, the devs for!

I am rarely far from a computer..or phone...or tablet. I think we may be suffering from new fall semester syndrome. Wait, is it 'fall' in Australia?
By the way, I'm starting a new job on Monday at a different university. Looking forward to it.

Alright, I'm sure our remaining friends aren't far, but to keep the dialogue going; are you guys waiting for me to get you into the gully? Or are you done with the area and are ready to move back to town?
I figured you were wanting to see if there is, in fact, a stash (since you went through all the trouble to clear away some/all (?????) of the traps) and I've been waiting for someone to actually make a move towards said stash.

I will try to post tonight. My laptop got hit by malware that destroyed the hard drive. No major losses, except for a week or two of work. I backed up most of my stuff, but lost a manuscript that I was working on and a few tests.

So we have some group business. Jaiyana, as you all have noticed, has been out and recently informed me she's got too much going on to continue with us. So my question is, shall we open up the recruiting or find a friend? If we do add another are we looking to fill the Urban ranger shoes left by Jaiyana or is there a class we want or don't want?
Thanks folks!

:( My goblin-fighting companions have departed!
I feel class-agnostic at this point, and don't have pals to suggest. From other recruitment threads, I see lots of cool people out there dreaming up characters.
