Shipmates - just a heads up that I'll be knee deep in work stuff for the next few, then on Friday I've friends coming over from Norway and will be busy hosting them until Sunday eve.
I'll try and grab to odd post if I can, but if I'm off the grid don't hold off on my account. We all know Kauly's default modus operandi by now ;)

So Monday was 4 hours in an Immigration office followed by 7 hours in an airport, and Tuesday the site was down... and the job offshore's been delayed until Saturday - so I've a couple of sneaky days in town before I go out again... but at least the Immigration side of things is sorted now.
Congrats again Cap'n - good to see at least the one of us is movin on up ;)

BESMARA’S ANTIPALADIN DIBBET'S PIRATIN' CODE
Antipaladins of Besmara are We be cutthroat pirates, freely roaming where they will and seizing whatever interests us. We primarily emulate their goddess’s violent aspects like gettin' bloody, but different antipaladins focus on varied aspects of Besmara’s code. The code of Besmara’s antipaladins Dibb's piratin' includes the following adages 'guidelines'.
• I pursue what I desire. One who cannot keep it from me does not deserve to possess it.
• Treasure demonstrates my might. I won’t waste my time on schemes with no profit to be had.
• No trick is beneath me. I will never forgo an advantage in the name of fairness.
• Pride does not shackle me. I retreat if I must to survive for another day.
• The weak serve the strong. I will never let my crew forget or doubt my strength.
• Revenge can't be delayed to keep the ship sailing. Crew members who cross me shall die onshore; foes can be useful allies under changed circumstances.
• I will suffer no restraint. Those who seek to pacify me will fall broken in my wake.

Indeed it is Cap'n - it's got a nice wee write up for each of the 'minor' gods ala the big book Gods of the Inner Sea.
End Your Quarrels on Shore: Whatever disagreements one sailor has with another, onboard a ship is not the place to settle them, for everyone’s survival depends on the crew working together.
Thirty Stripes Lacking One: The traditional punishment for a serious infraction on the ship is thirty lashes on the bare back. The captain or boatswain, however, may choose to reserve the last (30th) lash as an act of mercy if the target is repentant or unconscious. If so, the captain retains the option to make that last strike at any time before the ship reaches port—a threat to ensure better behavior from the target.
Truce Ends at the Horizon: Breaking a truce is seen as not only unsportsmanlike, but a threat to all pirates—but any truce is valid only until the opposing ship is past the horizon. This gives the weaker captain a head start should he fear the other captain’s intentions.

A feat from Ultimate Intrigue that Jimmer might like:
Your skill at arms intimidates your foes.
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +5, Intimidate 1 rank.
Benefit: You can use your base attack bonus in place of your ranks in Intimidate to determine your Intimidate skill bonus. When you confirm a critical hit against a creature, you can attempt an Intimidate check to demoralize that creature as an immediate action.
And one for Kauly:
Your enemies’ fear causes them to jump at shadows, diverting their attention.
Prerequisite: Hidden strike† +2d8 or sneak attack +2d6.
Benefit: The first time each round that you hit a creature suffering from a fear effect, you can deal hidden strike or sneak attack damage as if you were flanking that creature (improved uncanny dodge and other effects that prevent flanking also prevent a hidden strike or sneak attack from this feat).

Well out of the frying pan...
The rig was unable to get on location so they've canned the workscope. So back home tomorrow.
...and into the fire...
I'll be flying off again on Friday towards a platform based supervision job. Take a boat from the port, 2 weeks supervision with worse food, more crowded quarters, potentially less agreeable bosses... and maybe no internet.
But work is work, so at least there's that.

"Keelhaul" Kaul |

Work is indeed work hombre... but $hite work is also $hite.
2 weeks without our wee rudder will be a tough swallow like... Look forward to the baking updates in the interim ;)

My anniversary gifts won't be ready in time, particularly as the actual first post anniversary is tomorrow--will likely get to me by September, and then out to you all.

Excellent! Fifth year anniversary already?!
well, we've had cotton T-shirts, leather cups, paper playing cards and wooden pen and dice among other things. so will it be fruit or flowers, Jim? ; )

Along those lines, another one that Kaul might like is Cornugon Smash--hit with a Power Attack and make an Intimidate attempt against the target as a free action.

If it comes to that, we can retreat and rest at the ship. The rest of the crew isn't going anywhere.

Dammit... Was enjoying running wee Dobbits :)
(Glad you're still with us mate, getting Dibbs' vibe ain't easy :)

Dibbets |

Dibbs still has his 3rd levels in tow - he just wants to scout a wee bit before heading out - just to get a bit more of a lay of the land like.
Well - I'm off to the boat tomorrow morning and after a lazy 5-6 hour sail I'll be offshore for a couple of weeks. I have no idea whether I'll get any internets - or what time / quality they'll be like - so watch this space to see if I come back online or not :P
Hopefully I'll be here tomorrow night... if not... then in about 15 days or so.

Cap'n Voodoo |

Maybe I missed it, but how does the Familiar increase in power with P6? Or does it?
I don't remember, is your familiar at L-2 with serpentfriend? Either way, you can speak with him. His powers won't increase any more though there may be feats to boost. Also, his INT should be 7or8.

Yes well... consider Dibbs' wee die cast into the arena ;)
Offshore trip was... an offshore trip. A week floating about on a crew-boat followed by a week on a Production platform quarters (which wakes up it's crew by playing a Petronas theme song at 06:00 every morning... I wish I was fibbing, but it's gospel) and I'm finally back in the land of hot showers, meals involving not rice and real coffee.
Shall be here a couple of weeks before I've got to head back out again.

Well... wasn't meant to be heading back offshore until Saturday... but turns out I'll be back on the boat at about midnight tomorrow night!
So I'll be back out of contact until the 28th ish of May. There is a slim chance I'll be able to snaffle some post time during the trip - but I'm not holding my breath too much.
Dobbets rides again ? :P

Any of you possibly interested in Age of Worms? I've been playing in an AoW campaign on the boards that's been running for close to 4 1/2 years. We're halfway through (just finished Part 6), we're 12th level, and the party paladin's player has decided to quit PbP cold turkey. The GM asked us to look around for a replacement, so let me know. It's being run by GM Blood, who in other guises played in Hunger in the Darkness and a few others. Heavy Empyreal focus; we're a pretty Good party overall.

Ah, just in time for a horrible, horrible death in the Spire of Long Shadows!!!!
Probably my favorite AP. I led a group to L10 and then I moved away. I might want to run it again some day, but high level play just wears me out. I'd prob modify it a fair bit.
Thanks for the invite, buuut my plate is pretty full right now.
Good luck (you'll need it!)

Ditto for me - in an AoW game already mate (we're only 7th).
BTW - home interwebs on the fritz (again!) so out of office posting might me sporadic for a wee while.

"Keelhaul" Kaul |

Well I'm back after another two weeks of 'joy' offshore - so thanks to the Kaulmeister, but I'll take care of our fragrant and flatulent crewmate for the next couple of weeks again. Still reacclimatising to such luxuries as hot showers and non-rice dishes though...
Welcome back and no worries - was a pleasure mate. Tried to do him justice - still trying to find that sweet spot between "not enough" and "too much" with Dobbets lol.
Pay cuts are ensuing here. We're dead in the water for offshore work until August shutdowns at which point we'll be super-stretched... About fending the bean-counting wolves from the door til then.

Dingus- i'm thinking that there are plenty of opportunities for feats to give your spells some oomph with E6 play. Metamagic feats might help. Though since you wont really have higher spell slots, I'm thinking of tying metamagic feats to one spell- like extended levitation. the meta would always be attached to a casting of that spell.
Maybe empowered lets you add your CL to the damage and later (+6 or something) you can get maximized lightning bolt.

Fingers crossed for you BD - there's still cuts going through KL at the moment as well (Petronas have shelled a bunch, Shell is re-orging again) so I feel for ye.
It is hard times at the moment (and have been for a while)... but it is also a cyclical system (as in it'll come back up to some degree). Oil has come up a bit now (towards $50 a barrel) but it was down for long enough that it's going to take a while before people restart all their programs, etc. The words that I'm hearing from those in the know are talking about a recovery in 2018... which is a while away.
I'm hopeful at the moment that my consultancy has picked up enough work to keep me busy here in KL through mid next year already (fingers crossed)... so it's beginning to look like I might weather through it. It'd give them another 12 months to find more work as well... which they should be able to do. As a side note I've been luckier than a lot - I've only had a 20% pay cut thus far, which if I make it through this year automatically comes back into my salary... so I've been able to (knock on wood) dodge alot of the worst of it.
Back up careers or ideas are definitely something that is in the back of the mind... I was pretty close to it at the start of the year before the current work landed on me. Thoughts of a 12-18 month sabbatical doing not a great deal, or sea-changing to the UK, etc. But the unholy call of the almighty $ is pretty strong... plus we're comfortable here with kids in school and living the expat life. We've (meself plus wife) have changed up our outlook though to supercharge the savings side of things. Not that we're bad off now... but trying to push it to the point where we'd have enough put away that we could take a pretty hefty chunk out of a house if we needed to move and take me into a lower paying job.
So the way I look at it right now is to try and ride the dragon out for as long as it's working out for us... and try and be in good enough shape that if the arse does fall out of it we're set up...
And aye - Starfinder looks interesting, I'm in favor of a Molthune based AP as well... lots of intriguement.
