Agrippa don't summon a wasp cast something useful like black tentacles. This fight would have been way different if that was your first spell. Hold until Cedric 5' steps and then bind up the barbarian and orc.

We've bumbled this encounter all over the place...for example, where's Ulf?

Sebastian was planning to hit them with lake of fire while they were still in the throne room before he was called away, which could have been huge too, reducing their chance to buff up and trapping them in that room. Instead he got GMPCd to flee

Every melee attack that hit Johan did so because I rushed out without all my armor (in my defence I was getting really, really bored), and it was my idea to try and flank them.

Eldred has had a craptastic string of dice rolls, scoring like what, 3 out of 12 hits against an unarmoured target.

lets not go casting blame.

He is a non combatant. My level 9 companion will fight and above that. He is the jungle patrolling as normal.

Not being able to smite them makes me a glorified Warrior :(

Not blaming, but it's prepared, there is a good chance they have Pro Evil communal going with the cleric so neither Ulf or any summoned creature could touch them.

Agrippa (and his player) don't really think in terms of "most tactically important" Agrippa isn't a fighter...he's a conjurer of devils and nobleman.

I don't optimize either numbers or actions.

yep, I'm frustrated too. They were prepared and we were not. I could have been wearing more armor, cast more buffs, brought my judgements online, remembered the cornugon smash on my first hit etc

At least AKU didn't crit-murder Johan like normal :>

you were thinking in those terms when you learned the spell and memorized it for the day. If not you would have prepared nothing but summons. Sorry this sounds harsh online, I don't mean it too. I like hairy situations like this :)

In the stats Power attack is added already. That's why is 13 to hit.

The ogre unless told otherwhise, always attack with power attack.

  • -2 Power Attack

    5 + 8 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 13

    That's why it's +13 in his stats.

    You have a point. Agrippa learned the spell because he likes summoning things, giant tentacles from the Great Beyond included...

    His application of that spell however, not always the best timing.

    You could (or who ever is botting you could drop the dwarf over the pit trap)... that will effectively remove him from the fight.

    Just clarifying something:

    I didn't use Power attack in this attack. I was going to, but then I went to read the feat, and it only applies to melee attacks.
    I was in doubt because a Javelin adds the STR modifier in the damage as well.

    Anyway, even tho the Attack says PA, that's just a typo, the damage is only STR.

    On a side note:

    Grumblejack would have delayed and waited until Hassan came to him, had Eldred not moved forward to attack Hassan.

    But since Eldred was one of the un's that saved him from Brandescar, felt as his duty (Yep, he is LE since his rebirth as Half-Devil) to protect him at least.

    Levelled. I wanted for a long time to put my level 8 as con. Getting my phsyical skills as top notch but realistically I need to boost my Dex and so went that route.

    Took weapon training as my rogue talent. weapon focus longbow - I need it to compensate for my rolls.

    I PM'ed Cedric. I want to get him a scroll of resurrection or raise dead/restoration.

    My next 2 levels will likely be rogue then I'll switch back to ranger for the rest of the game.

    Whats a Rez cost? I know there has to be some diamond involved as well.

    I think we would have close to the amount needed from the loot gathered from this battle - the +2 Dagger is worth 4k at the resale value as is the raging falchion - thats 8k there before we sell anything else.

    Plus, don't we have some kitty / party share funding we can dip into?

    Anyone has any suggestion for cross-devices site/app which I could use to keep track of notes?

    Mainly because it's keeping hard to have a set of notes at work, at home, or in my 'go out' notebook.

    Something like docs, but which I could open tabs, so I could keep a set of note per tabs, one for each game, as player and GM...

    Moreover, that excel from docs isn't really appealing for this...

    I have folders for all my games and then subfolders for all my maps, encounters, PDFs, notes, pictures and anything else.

    Also, lots of spreadsheets.
