Human Hero Killer1 / Holy Assassin1 / Deceiver2

Also, I’ve dropped before you came here, two times, rumors about talking trees

Here and Here

You could have done some research before coming to prepare better, no one thought of that too.

Two points, though neither change much. The Imp did make its perception check you had said no one did. He gave warning. And Sidious did react to the info about trees by buying the only slashing weapon he could use. The sickle.

Human Hero Killer1 / Holy Assassin1 / Deceiver2

No one did before the combat started.
What forced you rp as if there was only one tree as treat.

Everyone reacted to Agrippa advice.
Johan Got the dagger.
Wodin Refused to use his axe.
You got the sickle.
Eldred kept shooting arrows.

Yep I'm not calling foul or anything - we definitely haven't handling it well. But to think we missed that many options isn't true either. As you say, 5 of the six players reacted to the dmg resistance. We all saw the animating trees as soon as they started to move. The tree yelled at us, stepped back and threw a rock that did so much damage it showed we couldn't afford to let him stay at range -every extra round we took to buff would have been answered by a large rock to the noggin. And then the animated trees would have been in our face with the talking tree safely behind them, still pelting us with rocks.

No, our biggest fault here I think was not talking amongst ourselves - everybody rushed off with their own plan. That and being too cocky... classic villain!

Cross your fingers, guys. Wodin needs the devil's own luck to not get knocked unconscious again. >_<

Agrippa did exactly what he would do....go invisible and wait for his minions to win...or not win.

I think the GM has done a great job on his side of the screen. Fights aren't always supposed to be easy.

Edit: Why have some of you guys posted in discussion and not for round 5! We could be doing 2+ rounds per day instead of 1!

I'm okay with that, boss. It was going to be kind of awkward to try and hit anything when Wodin's rooted in place and nothing is in range. D:

Maybe throwing daggers, lol.

Really, we should prolly run. now with the north tree prone might be our only chance.

Say the word and Wodin will gladly dip-set out of here.

So help these jerks when we come back, though.

It's been 48 hours since Sidious last gameplay post....

However, weekends are free time :D

I am back. I was backpacking with scouts. Now catching up. Will post soon. I almost am afraid to look. :)

I count 92 pts on my treant assuming my 19 on a prone target hit and I don't count the villain point attack... Hoping this bastard goes down soon.

I'm updating in the map the damages. :P

Just check there.

If our ogre had of hit we'd be in a lot better a position. Sucks to be us. Here's hoping we have better luck this round.

Human Hero Killer1 / Holy Assassin1 / Deceiver2

Well, grumble will not really get better than this, unless someone takes him as an Cohort.

He may get better stats, but he'll not get any more class levels, unless he is someone's cohort.

Ahhh ok - worthy to note. I had better stark cozying up to the guy then if I am thinking of leadership as a feat so that the RP is there.

Human Hero Killer1 / Holy Assassin1 / Deceiver2

@Johan I could not find the 'gaping maw' spell, but I think you may be refering to: Savage Maw instead?

You can 5' step and attack the northern one, or you can take a move action and suffer an AoO and attack either of the southern ones.

Male Dwarf Warlord 1 [ HP: 12/12 | AC: 17 T: 11 FF: 16 | CMD: 16 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +2 (+3 vs. poison, spells and spell-like abilities) ]

Charging in to fight the big one is pretty much a death sentence. But I'm not really sold that trying to fight the north tree is a good idea.

I feel like taking out the big tree should be our number one priority, because not only is he a jerk, but he's also the only tree that seems like a real threat.

Journal Formulae/Consumables Hp 45 AC 17, T 13, FF 14, F+3, Ref +8, Will +6. Speed 30ft, Perc +11, Init +3

Not that it will change anything now.

But for future reference, you can't draw a shield while walking. You can draw a weapon.

Male Dwarf Warlord 1 [ HP: 12/12 | AC: 17 T: 11 FF: 16 | CMD: 16 | F: +4 R: +1 W: +2 (+3 vs. poison, spells and spell-like abilities) ]

Shields can be used as weapons. <_<

But I gotcha, I'll keep it in mind in the future.

Seriously though, f&#$ this tree. The only reason I didn't run away is because Wodin is 100% never going to run from a fight until he's sure his companions are already on their way out. That's his deal, a very huge portion of the Stonelord style, even if Wodin's gone in the evil direction with it.

-e-

Also, I suppose now is as good a time as any to ask: if Wodin gets killed, what will happen? Will I have to reroll, or wait for a resurrection or something?

Human Hero Killer1 / Holy Assassin1 / Deceiver2

@Eldred

You still have your round action, since the tree died to your AoO.

It will depend on the group decision.

If one of you die, I'll not make things worse by making it harder to resurrect (with the proper payment), but if the group end up saying they don't have any 'reason' to ress anyone, then the dead person could roll a new char.

Agrippa may want to do away with that grease spot.

Also - burn that bastard.

Finally, Woden are unlikely to die. You've got an Inquisitor near you who I believe has a wand of CLW or spell or something.

I am more worried for Sideous.

Yeah, I don't expect to get dead, but it's more of a "hey, I'm pretty close to dying, I wonder what would happen?"

I'm going to have to do some thinking about tactics, because "charge in and get wrecked" isn't going to go very well. Especially when, even with my decent-ish AC, I'm getting absolutely annihilated.

AC 24 FF 19 Touch 18 HP 90/[90] CMB +12 CMD 28 Fort +8, Ref + 13 Will +7 Init + 6 Percept +16* (+18 vs traps) Sense Mot* + 10 Favoured Enemy: Human + 4 / Good Outsiders + 2 Male Human AKA "Talks-to-Toads" Urban Ranger 6 (Favoured Class) / rogue sniper 3

These were an exception I hope otherwise its gonna be a game of rocket tag. Treants are nasty big hitters.

Agrippa can win this battle for us now.

Digagonally up north, forward 5 - fireball Treebeard... If that doesn't kill it? Moving up another 6 and shoot it again... Fireball has a range of 400ft + 40ft per level. In this case another 200ft.

Well, I don't think so.

It's a CR9 encounter for a 5-man party of epic ability score.

Almost a normal combat! :P Okay, that was a mean joke;

So Grumble jack is dead... dead? Or passed out? He would have been in range of the last healing channel if damaged the round before.

Just passed out... but with style! (At least I think, you know every villain get his 'last impact phrase' before they pass up)

Ogre

"Hey un's! I need more magik and more tactical help! Grumblejack cannot keep missing big tree as that!" complains the ogre.

Man, that was a frustrating set if rolls for grumblejack.

Part of the bad luck...

Abraxus will follow the treant for at least 30 minutes, knowing that the group will be healing and recovering for a while.

When he is awake again Sidious will use his channels to heal everyone as much as possible. He will then go and cut down the tree that trampled him. :)

Prob not.

Due time, he must have been writing his as you posted yours.

I was thinking the new and improved Grumblejack had character levels. But he is only +8 to hit. A normal ogre with a masterwork weapon is +8 to hit. I just want do to note that the animated trees were +19 to hit. There is a large disparity between our NPC and the Treant's. lol.
