Eh, I'll just bribe him with a 42 count pack of Fez.
At first I thought you were talking about bribing me about the weapons and I was like "Da f*** does dat mean?!? o_O
Gavin Flouchard
Ok, so if there is anyone who wants their weapons drawn I'm willing to do them.
Free visual stimuli? Awesome! Please and thank you.

Need to inform him a general concept to what your weapons look like. I mean unless you would like him to attempt gypsy ritual magic in order to read your mind.

Falcata are basically really long older style kukris (~20 inch blade length) with a curved grip. It's an old Spanish weapon - I leave the details to the artist.

I look forward to your concept art :).

Time machine? What time machine?
Hey dont you have a mook to animate? Cuz that would definitely take presidence over investigating such silly rumor like me having a time machine.
Nobody in here but me and my lumpy car shaped couch.
Argus Ironeye
No worries it gives me more time to work on my Delor...-able couch?
Yes
and it is definitely not a time machine to permit shenanigans.
And it also lets me get a head count on who wants to come to the fortress and who doesn't.
Gavin is already a part of it.
Fujiro and Alembic have both expressed interest but Argus hasn't gotten around to addressing them on that. Saardonis has said neither here or there on the topic far as I can tell though he is interested in the tournament.
Eira,Zero and Talori are obviously already part of it.
Do we want to just have any other players who end up joining find some way to make it over here?
Argus still has a mook to punch with his feely words until his submission of info-blood spills all over the floor along with the mooks downy soft man feelings.
Saardonis
I'm interested but haven't figured out how catch a ride yet, you guys have been talking about it privately. The tournament sounds like fun to.
Edit: must read all the new posts before posting
Argus Ironeye
Private in as much as a public setting can be.
I had hoped Argus's question would suffice to give you a hook but I don't as a player (or Character) know your characters personality.
But hey, Both Alembic and Gavin want to go. You have a vested interest in them staying alive and far as you can tell this place they are planning on going to is dangerous.
Saardonis
it did , like I said I need to read all the posts before posting.
also is there a way to take the rest of the prisoners teleport crystals, i'll give them to the police, just don't want him getting lucky and using one.
I am keeping the one I found on the street though
Argus Ironeye
Well unless we decide to bring him in he is nothing but detained right now.
I mean sure we could take him to jail but why do that? That is giving him exactly what he wants a place that is safe.
His icon is still green so there is a fair chance this guy is just a middle man for the Blades.
Give him all the teleport crystals he could ever need and they still won't save him. The blades know he was captured, they will interrogate him and kill him after the fact to tie up the loose end.
Argus Ironeye
I feel like I've asked this before but I'll do it again what with all the new players. Do we want to just have one person do the Init for combat?
Would save a round of postings on combat and ensure that part of the game gets sped up a tiny bit. As I am pretty sure there will be quite a few fights between now and the end of the Fortress.
When I've seen it done its usually the GM who does it but if one of you'se guys wants to I don't much care.
Secondly, for ease of our overworked GM could we all get HP/AC/Saves and Expendable resources up on our profile so he doesn't have to hunt for AC's when he is punching us with bad guys?
Gavin Flouchard
Whatever is easiest; lumped init/gm rolls it/roll one per person and keep it for all instances in an area/other.
Argus Ironeye
If you want to avoid the hassle of picking I'd suggest the Freebooter Archetype.
Argus Ironeye
Hrmmm... something to consider at least. Reminds me that Argus has a hat which gives him favored enemy(+2) to dragon type baddies. Need to write that down so I don't forget it.
Oh and here's a list of everyones initiative scores as it stands.
So searching for them all isn't needed
Eira +6
Zero +4
Talori +3
Argus +4
Fujiro +3
Gavin +4
Alembic, +8
Saardonis +4
Oh and time travel means everyone has heard this bit already I think. It did get buried under a bunch of other posts though so I'm putting it back up here.
"Ah, right {Golems} that guy Gavin told me about had a bit and Gavin just recently sent me some on nother type. Sounds like there are four types in total in the Fortress. [Blood] [Bone] [Flesh] and [Corpse], dunno jack @#$# bout [Blood] but I can only hope mine and Zero's frost weapons do something useful to it. Slow it down maybe.
[Bone] is resistant to everything but Adamantine weapons far as the Ex-assault guy I asked knew. They also have this ability where they rip off a part of them and trap you in a shrinking cage that crushes you to death. Nasty $#$%s, going to want to take them on alone if we can manage it.
[Flesh] they didn't have much solid on, said that they wear the faces of dead players though, Still highly resistant to attacks.
[Corpse] are apparently the weakest of the Golem types and are vulnerable to slashing weapons. the are also a walking pile of dead things so I would not be surprised at a poison or disease effect.
All of the {Golem} types are strong, hit hard and are slow. Guy I talked to said most of his crew had no chance at blocking them and only the devoted shield and sword warriors were able to take more than a blow or two.
Also asked about the spawns in the Fortress, sounds like they didn't fight long enough in there to see a pattern. Apparently the golems spawn at random, pop out the doors on the sides of the hall and try to kill you.

Testing Dice Rolling Mechanics:
Test: 1d3 + 2d2 + 1d1 ⇒ (3) + (1, 1) + (1) = 6
Gavin Flouchard
Was reading through some of the older posts and read that rorek doesn't penalize you for the first 2 increments on pa (i.e. you don't start taking penalties until you have a bab of 8). He also progresses the bonus from weapon focus at fourth level, and every 4 levels thereafter.
5 bab +4 str + 1 weapon +2 weapon focus = +12; twf -2 = +10 -- normally would be a +7 w/ pa. Oh, and flanking to negate the sickened attack penalty.

*looks in Alembic and Fujiro's directions*
Oi, know ya are likely busy with all the labor day celebrations but you should come over here for a movement and murder some things with us.
Fresh skeletons and a great big tree that I really hope Talori is about to smack in the face with her handy dandy Hadoken. Which is totally what I vote she should do if we end up getting delayed until Labor day is over.
plus two more carrion Golems.
I'm also going to hope the flesh golem is following the normal rules for berserk as that means we stand a good chance of it going after one of the monsters rather than us on account of them being closer.
Also, do we want to implement a posting time limit for combat in this game? with the number of characters we have and the number of ways people can become delayed in real life I get the feeling that having such thing in place would make combat posts (where PbP games grind to a halt regardless) go much more smoothly.
"Zero"
One little note, your BAB and hit points are off.
Rogues get 1d8 hit points per level and are 3/4 BAB so your actually one lower than what you have.
Edit:
I'd say yes on time limit for combat at least a day.
Gavin Flouchard
@Zero, adjusted based on Rorek's guidelines -- rogues get full bab/d10 hp.
Re combat timer: 24 hours seem reasonable? Longer?
Argus Ironeye
Something Rorek hasn't gotten to updating yet. He posted in the new recruitment thread about his homebrew upgrades for the rogue. Not sure where they got off to.
rogues have always been a special case, I usually forget to mention it though, If someone really wants to play a rogue I usually give them full Bab + HD starting out. They are also allowed a somewhat homebrewed feat to give them a "guile" pool based on there wisdom, which opens up ninja tricks that use ki via taking the "ninja trick/advanced trick" rogue talent which IDC if they take multiple times. Due to everything else I have been working out for the game I forgot to mention it to Gavin, or well, anyone for that matter so thanks for asking.
Looks like the basic idea is that the rogue eats the ninjas lunch and is better at actually hitting things.
Though I'm wondering where d10HD come into play.@Gavin
The upgrades for the combat feats are not actually a thing anymore if I recall the discussion correctly.
The TWF upgrade is still correct but I think that's the only thing that stayed. That was his first attempt to emulate the "Sword Art" feel for combat.Previous concept was you only had a few slots you could empower with combat feats, made several styles of combat incredibly hard to use. Ended up with him scrapping the concept in favor of the Tome of Battle sword arts.
Argus Ironeye
@ Fujiro fact that you are here at all is good on ya, this game is a bit weird with all the homebrewing and system changes.
@Gavin 24 would work Ok for me, but with the speed this game tends to run slower might be preferable. Will have to see what the rest of the crew says.
Argus Ironeye
`Hrrm.. yeah I've had that as well. Though only with very complex or difficult combats.
I think the paradigm for posting expectations is significantly different for in combat/ out of combat. If a player isn't there for an RP scene they can just get skipped over, barring very specific parts of the session. Even in that instance the group can shift to another topic til that player can return and the action in question resolved.
You can't really skip someone in combat very easily, which means any time a player is missing or delayed that every other player is forced to wait until said player has returned.
Game delays, people lose interest, game stalls and people move on.
Might be wise to have a "common combat tricks" or something like that written on the character sheets somewhere if that characters combat style is any more complex than hitting things with your axe.
Otherwise Rorek will have to do his best guess, like he will most likely need to today as Talori is the last player and shes out til Labor day is done. Should be interesting to see what the golems do though.
Just to confirm combat wise.
Reaper tree has taken no damage
8/10 skeletons remain
Carrion golem 1 is dead from Eira/Zero combo. *
Carrion golem 2 has been attacked by Fujiro, Gavin and Alembic
Carrion golem 3 has taken no damage
Flesh golem got nailed by Argus, it is currently slowed and enraged for some reason.
*Eira, if you happen to get a Sword art slot in future (unsure what you spent the one from Thamril on) Defensive rebuke is an art your build would love. Aoo's for ignoring you, Aoos for missing you. doesn't matter what they do you get to punch em anyway.
Argus Ironeye
Cool, unsure what Talori selected but if I guess right Dragonne's Roar is going to be a renamed Lions roar. Which would make for a very happy horde of combat focused PC's were she to use it.
Argus Ironeye
While I personally find Babymetal hilarious in a bad movie kind of way I can't imagine Argus is going to have the same opinion. I can imagine him enjoying the first song, wondering who its by and figuring more of the same.
And then the techno J-pop comes in and Argus starts swearing.
Oh and while it is too late to edit in Argus will also be dropping prone to maximize his horrible leaf based death avoidance.
The Forest image is cool and suits the concept we seem to be rocking of "Gothic horror story" on this floor.
