1) Can you let me know for each of your characters:
- Particular characteristics of your character you want to see in the game (she falls in love a lot, he has bad luck in games of chance, his dog is always stealing his food).
- Their trait and the details of it (what particular "story" you put on it). And what Mythic path you are planning to take.
- Any pending plot points or themes I could use in the adventure ("My character loves/hates X, he had an accident and he is now known as the "oil slipperer", He is looking for his x, He wants to become a something in the future).
- Any special house rules/items you are using.
- Any special house rules/items you want to use.
- Any comment you want.
2) What happened with the previous NPC's. Did they survive? Are they friendly?
- Anevia Tirablade
- Aravshnial
- Horgus Gwerm
3) What about the mongrelmen?
4) This is your first foray into the Grey Garrison, right?
Aberus Ocellio |
2) They all survived and were friendly. Anevia was reunited with her wife. Aravshnial still is missing his eyes, but he opted to stay at the central library. Horgus took a whiile to go from obnoxious to friendly, but he got there eventually. He is safe and sound in his home.
3) We are on friendly terms with Neattholm.
4) Our second. :(

Here's the super-abbreviated history of the game.
Because of the large number of people who applied, there ended up being two groups. Group A played the book straight from the AP with our original GM, Asmodina. Group B played an improvised adventure above ground doing demon cleanup and other street battles with Azura as the GM.
Group A: Aberus, Alexa, Arloric, Baleon, Ithilwen, Telerin, Uriel
Group B: Darya, Kelly, Merlin, Sario, and a whole bunch of others
Group A
As mentioned above, this was the AP run pretty much straight by the book with Asmodina as the original GM.
Baleon ghosted early on during the fight with the cockroaches.
Asmodina ghosted just before the fight with the darkmantles. That's when Azura took over.
Ithilwen had to drop while we were invading the cultists' underground fortress.
We made it up and out, and worked our way across town to the Defender's Heart. One of the encounters along the way was the library where Aravashniel stayed (once the invading cultists were killed).
The Merge
Once we arrived at the Defender's Heart, groups A and B met up. We also did a little mix & match, and went in two directions. A mixture of group A and B went for the Garrison, but only one of us had cold iron weapons so we were forced to retreat. We didn't make it past the 2nd or 3rd room on the ground floor.
Azura worked up a few side encounters in the city where as we searched for cold iron weapons. In the middle of one of those, Azura had to drop due to other commitments. Merlin dropped at this point, too.
GMR0B0 took over at that point, and we made our 2nd run at the Garrison with the group that is here now.
Telerin Quenya |
Aberus' summary is spot on as far as I can remember. We have been at this for like 2 years IIRC.
Kelly Littlekettle |
- Their trait and the details of it (what particular "story" you put on it). And what Mythic path you are planning to take.
Trait: Stolen Fury. Kelly has no idea what the ritual was about, and she doesn't really want to know. She's never been one to get involved in complicated or world-shaking events, just content to live quietly as a cook. But now adventure has come to her, and she's just trying to survive while helping her friends.
Path: Champion. My character build will really come online once I pick up Mythic Weapon Finesse, and Two-Weapon Fighting feat next level.
Telerin Quenya |
Her loyalties are to: Freeing her homeland from Demons. She is from Kyonin, and leearning More about Her school and how to overcome magical limitations

One note: there are no Group A and Group B anymore. Around the time that R0B0GEISHA took over, a few folks left and there were few enough that those remaining combined into one unit, IIRC.

1) For Uriel, he's a paladin from a family of paladins. Several of his relatives have died in the Crusade, and he figures he's likely to one day as well. Not to say he's a pessimist or nihilist; his family claims to be descended from Ragathiel himself (from a seed sown back in his pre-demigod days), and he will die happy if death means joining his ancestor's host in Heaven. I plan on eventually taking him into the Crimson Templar prestige class. There's little he cares about beyond serving Ragathiel and destroying evil (which are basically the same thing, of course). I wouldn't mind seeing him branch out, finding love or something, but there's nothing I have planned, really. He wields Radiance (in case you were wondering who has it in this group).
I think others have already covered 2)-4).

1) Can you let me know for each of your characters:- Particular characteristics of your character you want to see in the game (she falls in love a lot, he has bad luck in games of chance, his dog is always stealing his food).
Arloric was specifically written with lost Sarkoris heavily entwined into his backstory. He's trying to keep his people's history and traditions alive until he and his friends can beat the demons back and he can help build a new Sarkoris. He was originally conceived as a Druid, but when Ultimate Wilderness came out, Azura let me retool him into a Filidh Bard.
- Their trait and the details of it (what particular "story" you put on it). And what Mythic path you are planning to take.
This changed a bit too. Initially it was Stolen Fury, but now it's Exposed to Awfulness. The essence either way is that Arloric doesn't actually know he's a tiefling. He just thinks he's a human with a weird eye (black sclera and golden iris and it never closes or even blinks, while his other eye's blue and normal), when in reality that kind of asymmetry is a common trait among pitspawn.
He lived outside Kenabres and his homestead was attacked by a demon that killed his parents and wounded him severely in the face. Prelate Hulrun and his inquisitors slew the demon and Arloric awoke some time later, his eye changed and his face scarred, and was adopted by his uncle, Crocris, the half-elf druid who is the groundskeeper for Truestone Park in Kenabres. Crocris taught him the ways of the Green Faith. I'm planning on dual-pathing with Guardian and Hierophant.
- Any pending plot points or themes I could use in the adventure ("My character loves/hates X, he had an accident and he is now known as the "oil slipperer", He is looking for his x, He wants to become a something in the future).
Arloric is aware that Prelate Hulrun is dead, and took time out of the group's work to bury him properly, but his uncle Crocris is still unaccounted for, and while Arloric's mentioned this, we've had more pressing matters to fix so we haven't gotten a chance to see if he's okay.
Back when Arloric was an actual druid, he had a megaloceros animal companion named Red-Branch. With Arloric's class change I no longer qualified, so I roleplayed Arloric sending him off to greener, safer pastures further east. I plan on taking the Green Faith Acolyte prestige class when he qualifies for it, and once I do, I'd definitely like Red-Branch to make a triumphant return so he can ride into battle on his buddy.
I was also looking into the Godhood-related Path abilities, playing off Sarkoris' belief in many gods some of whom were just really powerful spirits, and sort of becoming a new god for a new Sarkoris.
Finally, he has a crush on Queen Galfrey of Mendev.

None that I can think of.

None that I can think of!

Arloric's gone through quite a few changes since I first designed him, but I think everything's finally settled the way I plan on playing him out.
As it's been said, Questions 2-4 have been pretty thoroughly answered.

Can you let me know for each of your characters:
- Particular characteristics of your character you want to see in the game (she falls in love a lot, he has bad luck in games of chance, his dog is always stealing his food).

- Any special house rules/items you want to use.
- Any comment you want.
In order:
1) Alexa is a taciturn character who harbours a deep resentment for the Crusaders, an equally deep love for her family and a great deal of loneliness brought on by the life of a spy. I'd love to have a chance to at least determine what happened to the rest of her family after Kenabres fell, and a chance to use espionage skills to sabotage the enemy.
2) The Chance Encounter trait: Alexa's youngest brother, Miles, was raised believing she was a hero of the Crusades, and sought to emulate her by exploring the Worldwound. He didn't get very far before Alexa caught up to him, but by the time she did Kenabres had come under siege by demonic forces. They were forced to hide within enemy territory until a mysterious rescuer bearing a holy symbol of Desna escorted them to safety. I wish for Alexa's mythic path to be the Trickster.
3) Alexa hates the Crusaders, but she hates demons much more. She hates that the Crusaders conscripted her into their ranks in exchange for her family's safety when she was 12 years old, and she hates that Prelate Hulrun (at least, my interpretation) was so paranoid that he ran Kenabres more or less under martial law, with constant invasions of the citizenry's privacy. She would love it if the Crusaders were to undergo reforms--and she'd especially love it if those reforms screwed over the invading demons.
4) None that I can think of.
5) None that I can think of.
6) I've waffled back and forth about what prestige class I want Alexa to earn--either Arcane Trickster or Master Spy. The way things are panning out, I think I'll be going Master Spy with her.
Aberus Ocellio |
Aberus's campaign trait is "Touched by Divinity", and his deity is Sarenrae. His mythic path, unsurprisingly, is Hierophant.
I stretched the campaign trait a little bit to fit his story. Aberus's parents were followers of Iomedae, and his father eventually chose to train as a Paladin and join the Fourth Crusade, against his wife's wishes.
His father never returned from his first incursion into the Worldwound, and everyone presumes he died there (he did). This threw them into poverty for several years, and both Aberus and his mother felt abandoned by Iomedae's church. His mother eventually rejected religion entirely. Aberus, however, found his way to Sarenrae, and trained to become a cleric. This decision led to a falling out between him and his mother, and they have not spoken since (it's been about a year). And though he is no longer harboring anger or resentment, his relationship with Iomedae and her church is best described as "complicated".
How did he get to Sarenrae? He was born at dawn on the summer solstice. He didn't make that connection until after he wandered into her church. You are welcome to make that as close to fated as you wish, or it can just be a big ol' coincidence. Play with it as you will.
Aberus did not intend to become a crusader, nor did he sign up to fight demons. He simply wanted to work in Sarenrae's church, and provide healing for the real crusaders. Obviously, life had other plans.
Darya Flamekissed |
Can you let me know for each of your characters:
- Particular characteristics of your character you want to see in the game (she falls in love a lot, he has bad luck in games of chance, his dog is always stealing his food).
Darya lives life fully. She’s a Paladin and very much a good person, but doesn’t see that as prohibitive of enjoying life. She was in a loose triad with two of the other characters who were part of Team 2, now inactive, but probably the most likely to fall in the “falls in love easily” category, or at the very least her head is easily turned by a pretty lady, though she's a true paladin in that evil will immediately rule even the most attractive person right out.
Her personality when not in danger is a sharp contrast to the burning retribution that embodies Ragathiel’s worship on the battlefield, but even then her bold, up front personality shines through.
- Their trait and the details of it (what particular "story" you put on it). And what Mythic path you are planning to take.
Trait: Stolen Fury
Details:
“In her travels, she would at one point come to spend time at a roadside tavern where she encountered a beautiful green-haired elven woman named Jerribeth who struck her fancy. The two talked and laughed well into the night until Darya's head began to spin, perhaps from too much drink, and everything faded to black.
As fate would have it, Jerribeth was a worker of dark forces who, upon immediately recognizing Darya's heaven-touched nature, found her a perfect candidate for some dark ritual.
Drugged and in a haze, Darya remembers little of the ritual, save a few other of the intended victims, who possessed an inner rage much like her own, kindred spirits. In some strange manner, their joint fury was able to somehow twist the ritual, stealing the dark power conjured for their own allowing them to break free and fight their way to escape in the ensuing chaos. They made a pact to remain, friends, encountering each other numerous times since then, coming to each other's aid when needed.
It was on that night, free and away from the cultists that Darya knelt to give thanks to Sarenrae and felt a different presence. One that was intense and magnificent, a roaring furnace of holy power yearning for the opportunity to destroy evil wherever it lay. In that moment Darya found her purpose, taking up the banner of Ragathiel, his fire and fury filling her soul.”
- Any pending plot points or themes I could use in the adventure ("My character loves/hates X, he had an accident and he is now known as the "oil slipperer", He is looking for his x, He wants to become a something in the future).
Darya will always protect those weaker than herself, can never bring herself to back down from a bully, and takes probably more joy in battel than she should, though she’d not beyond showing mercy to someone truly deserving of it.
- Any special house rules/items you are using.
Nope
- Any special house rules/items you want to use.
Not that I can think of.
Sario Ulum Taliesin |
Sorry I went to respond last night but family stuff came up.
Sario was designed slightly differently at the start to be more like a Feral druid from WoW. When I was chosen for the second campaign i switched her to a Storm Druid as it was more interesting and less feat intensive.
Her parents were killed in the World Wound they were hold out survivors and druids themselves who were trying to keep a small patch of forest alive and free from the corruption of the Abyss. She wants to drive the Demons back to their home plane and then go about turning the land back over to the green faith.
Telerin Quenya |
Here is her little background story:
Telerin Quenya is a an elven wizard from Kyonin. Both of her parents were part of an elite and royal school of wizards whose job it was to use ancient elven magic in the defeat of Treerazor and his demons who have terrorized Kyonin. She was born under the power of the moon and had a birthmark on her ring finger. She did not get to learn what this portent meant from her parents since they were both killed by invading and raiding demons.
Raised in the Towers, she did not spent much of her time using traditional elven weapons but spent her time researching history and the planes and what her birth mark meant. When she become of age, she received a ring, left to her by her mother, the ring she wore when she died, and in the ring was an inscription which stated simply, in elven, Riftwardens. Her parents, it was revealed, were members of this organization. Though she does not know much about them, she has traveled to Kembres to learn about the Riftwarden and to learn new magic or even strike an alliance with the Riftwardens, to bring them to Kyonin to help in the fight against Treerazer.

At least Alexa’s family isn’t dead.
At least, I have no evidence to the contrary...
We have guaranteed proof that at least Miles is okay, and we're gonna make sure he stays that way!

When we level I am going to have to re create her, good think that I have the majority of the information in writing in her profile. When the house got robbed in December the thief took my external hard drive that had my PFS and Herolab characters on it :(

LOL. There are some who have it much worse than I do.
The good thing is that I was able to find, which I thought had been stolen, my Red Robe and Black Robe Raistlin minis.

We are sitting on a huge pile of healing potions that haven't been used.

I am acting against the results of the roll because we were explicitly told that time is of the essence, and the larger problem outweighs the smaller one.
Unless you're telling me this is a magical compulsion, in which case, that is different. :)
JohnnyBlack |
Not magical compulsion, but your heart told you something.
I was going to say I was not going to "punish" your character for it, but now that I think it better...
He is a cleric.
A chaotic good cleric at that.
Of the goddess of healing.
I think the gods will want to have a word with Aberus about his actions.
As a cleric of Sarenrae, he felt he could help the next Crusade by offering some temperance, and a compassion for the soldiers that Iomedae's clergy often lacked.
