They hit it out of the park when they did Kingmaker, though I would be lying if I say Kingmaker is a REALLY complex game to get into. Even as someone who has experience playing Pathfinder there's a host of other features to keep track of. Quests are on timers, some quests have better options if you're of a correct alignment (one lets you ally with some monsters if you're CN, while another keeps an ally alive if you're LN), and then of course there's the Kingdom Management and City Building features.

I STILL have to actually play beyond the intro because I'm still trying to plan out how to juggle all this stuff, and I imagine WotR is only going to be MORE complex, given the stuff they've already included in the Kickstarter!

I had surgery on my right eye about 2 years ago. This time it will be on my left. There is a pocket of fluid that is pulling on the retina and has to be removed.

What is the problem with what Alexa Dorne saw?
How did I "roleplay" her?

Well, when I peeked around that corner and saw what I saw, I felt like I wasn't being given much choice in how I'm going to react to that. If it was the result of some sort of magical effect, such as a compulsion or other mind-affecting effect, then it would be more understandable that Alexa would react that way.

That's why I asked if I would be allowed to roll a saving throw. Otherwise, I feel like if Alexa is going to faint from seeing something shocking, then I would like to be the one who decides that.

Sorry if I give you that impression.
- No, Alexa is not going to faint. That is the impression the others had. Not the feelings of Alexa.
- I am very much interested in how Alexa is going to react. Will she panic? Will she tell what she saw to the others? Will she keep them in the dark? Will she try to understand what is happening? How?
- Do you think I am out to get Alexa Dorne? To take it off the game, or hinder her somehow? To tell you the truth, I would have expected you to be "happy" that she is getting so much "screen time".
- Yes, I am very "lax" with the rules. I try to be very "cinematic", putting emotions in the game, even at the expense of being "right" rules-wise.

For the game to be fun you need to trust your DM. And I need to trust the players. If you don't trust that I am trying to make this fun for everybody (me included) then the game is not going to be as good as it can be.

This part seems like you're taking agency away from the player, a bit, by giving us her reaction and not giving her a chance to write it herself. What if she had wanted to attack, or yell out a warning, or try to parlay with...whatever she saw? It might be a better idea to post what she saw, spoilered for her if necessary, and then let her react.

Sorry, I guess I am out of bounds for your play style, as so far three players think I am overstepping.
I just wanted to help you keep you game up, but I understand my way of DMing is not for everyone. Please feel free to look for another DM. If you are ok with it I will continue mastering while you find it.
