Rejuvenation (Su)
In most cases, it's difficult to destroy a ghost through simple combat: the “destroyed” spirit restores itself in 2d4 days. Even the most powerful spells are usually only temporary solutions. The only way to permanently destroy a ghost is to determine the reason for its existence and set right whatever prevents it from resting in peace. The exact means varies with each spirit and may require a good deal of research, and should be created specifically for each different ghost by the GM.

Andrea1 |

So Verennie, we've just met and hardly know a thing about you. Just why this rebellion against Chard? Why not stand with him in the service of Thrune and Asmodeus instead of some patricidial tools of Mammon who are burning down the city you sword to serve? Is that why you are like this now?
Trying to get her to start monolouging in bad-guy style
Diplomacy?: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

Andrea1 |

Quick! We need to heal quickly and then follow her. Since she is a ghost, we need to destroy her form and then find out how to permanently put her to rest or she will return in a few days.
If out of rounds
Andrea drinks a potion of CCW
CCW: 4d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 7) + 7 = 23

Orsino 'Orsin' Bessatte |

"Andrea knows more about ghosts and the walking dead than any of us. We should follow her lead on this," Orsin remarks, assuring the others (mostly newcomer Aurelio) of her qualifications.

Andrea1 |

Andrea gives a quick rundown on the ability of ghosts to return. In most cases, it's difficult to destroy a ghost through simple combat: the “destroyed” spirit restores itself in a few days days. Even the most powerful spells are usually only temporary solutions. The only way to permanently destroy a ghost is to determine the reason for its existence and set right whatever prevents it from resting in peace. The exact means varies with each spirit and may require a good deal of research.
So even if we destroy her form, she will return unless we can find out how to send her to the Boneyard for good. We certainly should disperse her to gain time. She most certainly has spellcasting powers since she used magic to summon those tentacles.
I suggest Gerard take the lead and keep a look out for traps. Such as on the door Aurelio tried to open.

Andrea1 |

Andrea1 |

Before they hea dup the stairs, Andrea casts Invisibility Purge. About time we deal with invisible foes.
11 minutes, 55 feet, negates invisibility
Who still needs healing? Andrea will then tap herself with the Wand of Cure Moderate Wounds
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6

Gerard Nisroc |

Kn Local, Verennie: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18 nice... retry?
Perhaps what troubles her in death is what troubled her in life...
Gerard advances as suggested.
Perception, traps, canny observer, guidance: 1d20 + 16 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 16 + 4 + 1 = 25

You do remember some talk on the streets about Verenies obsession with the nine hells. You want to say she had an interest in devil that was NOT Asmodeus, but you can't remember which one.
Gerard you know the door is trapped, you just don't know how.

Andrea1 |

There is a rune on the door. No doubt something that had to do with Aurelio and Euphemia being terrified. Fortunately, it doesn't effect hedgehogs.
Andrea's hands begin to bleed. I will attempt to dispel the rune. Stigmata going to caster checks (+2)
I don't know if Bit of Luck can also be used on myself, but will bleed(6 points),Bit of Luck and then cast
Greater Dispel Magic: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Bit of Luck Dispel Magic: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Gerard Nisroc |

Andrea, based on your explanation of... ghosts. I think I remember there being stories of her being infatuated or extremely interested in a devil other that our dear reigning Asmodeus...
Has anyone head the like, or know which devil?
Gerard reaches for the door.

Gerard using Aurelio to boost him examines the ceiling entrance it is hidden well, but it is not trapped. It will take a bit of an effort for everyone to climb up through the opening.
When you decide to open the entrance and climb up it will require a climb check DC 10 unless you put some rope down then DC5

Andrea1 |

Your strong, broad shoulders are such a delight to be on.
Andrea squeezes Aurelio's shoulders, perhaps contimplating the strong yummy musles underneth.
She also hands over some rope.
Climb: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Edit: I think we shouldn't all squeeze in there though, it would be too tempting a target. I say half of us first to check out the area.[/ooc]
I suggest Gerard and Andrea get up first followed by the rest.

Euphemia di Nereis |

Euphemia cracks her back in a dramatic fashion.
"I am a tad too squishy to be the first upstairs, but I will happily bring up the rear or end up in the center of our formation."
A squeak comes to her attention.
"Frank is content in any position."
