Euphemia di Nereis |
"Thank you, Andrea."Euphemia stifles a flabberghasted chuckle, opting instead to put a comforting hand on Gerard's back. "If you have anymore unpoisoned daggers on your person, I'd like a little of your hair... just in case you're obliterated."
Gerard Nisroc |
Gerard shakes his head grimly... No, Phem... There's only one way out of this. Win.
Andrea, you got the fires... can you help with flanking partners? Small Air Elementals? Something fast... He laughs out loud, then.
Anything that creates... light?
Andrea1 |
I have the Morrowfall which casts light, I will also be summoning elementals to help flank. Do you want me to turn you invisible?
Andrea makes sure Gerard's dagger is glowing with a Daylight spell.
When we first enter, I will cast a blessing called Blessing of Fervor which will speed our movements (Acts like haste

Gerard accepts the poisons reluctantly. They cheat because they have to... But, there's been too much death and carnage. We need to end it.
Can someone spare a Daylight on a dagger blade? So I can sheathe it and turn of off, draw it turning it on?
The rogue applies poison to three non-magical daggers. Blue whinnis, blacksmear and cockatrice.
If you see the halfling... Silence me.
I need three d100 checks made with the application of poison.
One dose of poison smeared on a weapon or some other object affects just a single target. A poisoned weapon or object retains its poison until the weapon scores a hit or the object is touched (unless the poison is wiped off before a target comes in contact with it).
Applying poison to a weapon or single piece of ammunition is a standard action. Whenever you apply or ready a poison for use, there is a 5% chance that you expose yourself to the poison and must save against the poison as normal. This does not consume the dose of poison. Whenever you attack with a poisoned weapon, if the attack roll results in a natural 1, you expose yourself to the poison. This poison is consumed when the weapon strikes a creature or is touched by the wielder. If you have the poison use class feature (such as from the assassin prestige class or the alchemist base class), you do not risk accidentally poisoning yourself when applying poison.
Gerard Nisroc |
After some internal debate... Sure, Invisibility. Consider me dead... I will wait until the most opportune moment to attack directly.
I will not need flanking partners until then. He touches Euphemia's chin, then Franks... and the gesture seems quite similar.
Alright everyone, look alive stay alive. If you see the halfling, silence an arrow or quarrel and shoot at him. It will make casting more difficult.
Godspeed.
Gerard then awaits Andrea's... assistance.
Euphemia di Nereis |
I think they just want you to know you are a part of this, dear Frank.
Perception:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 No low light or darkvision.
For Frank:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 Or for this one. You'd think he'd have scent, but he doesn't.
Euphemia di Nereis |
After a few moments of splitting between panic and anger, Euphemia's eyebrows furrow.
"Consider you dead? That's directly the opposite of what you just told me to do." She whispers fiercely to the now-invisible rogue. "You're not getting off the hook that easily."
Yes, I used a colloquialism, and I expect you to let it go, Frank. Why would he go through all that bonding trouble only to leave like this?!
Gerard Nisroc |
As long as I wish to remain invisible... I cannot directly attack, some weird cosmic rule. I cannot directly help you, so you cannot rely on me.
It will go against my every instinct, my every fiber... my being, not to come to your aid immediately. Consider me dead.
Is this what it will be like when my ghost...
Euphemia di Nereis |
Gerard has Darkvision, too.
"He's another one for my cakes." Euphemia wrings her hands, unaware of just how creepy that sounded. "Resigning to such a fate already... What would your father say? Similarly, Gerard, if you haunt me, I'll trap your ghost in a lantern. I swear to Cayden."
Daniel Arrisen |
Save your remove fear spell for Gerard, Drea. My faith makes me immune to it. Gerard if you find the leaders, mark them for me if you can. I will come for you. Or you can carry me if you have the strength. I can cast Vanish on you if the first strike is missed. Do not overly concern hitting me with magic girls. I can remove fatigue and neasuation and am immune to fear and charms. If you need to center any of those around me, fine. With lack of a better target I will charge for the fire where our snitch archer said the wizard was. I say we direcg the bug at a flank and let it rage.
Daniel casts DIVINE FAVOR on himself and Orsin (and Gerard if he wants) at the last moment before the charge. Then puts his wand away.
Perception with Darkvision1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Andrea1 |
Andrea switches targets for the Remove Fear for Euphemia and the giant. While this seems wasteful, the giant's will was weak and thus would need bolstering so he could be an effective battle engine.
If i Bolt, Daniel, grab the Morrowfall. Letting the beetle rage is sound advice, we cannot afford to divert our attentions.
Orsino 'Orsin' Bessatte |
Wow, I'm behind. I only just now found the Euphemia's healing hex. Thanks for the heads up, Andrea.
Orsin, feeling heroic already, says to the group, "Gerard, I can cast a spell of valor on you before you disembark. If you stray from my song you'll lose the benefits of its magic. This spell will help."
Orsin holds out his hand, waiting for Gerard to bring himself into contact before releasing the heroism spell into the invisible man.
Quick reminder for both me and Gerard: Heroism, 80 minutes, +2 morale bonus on attack rolls (but not weapon damage), skill checks, and saving throws.
If I'm not mistaken, Orsin should be at full life thanks to Phem's healing hex and currently has a total +3 to attack rolls (morale/luck), +1 to weapon damage rolles, +2 to skill checks, and +2 to saves. And all pre-IC!

Gerard Nisroc |
I was always told I led a charmed existence. I've been given no reason to doubt it. Believe in me, that is more powerful than any spell. It is the magic we make, humanity's birthright.
Gerard reaches to accept Orsin's boon. Use Message.
baldwin the merciful |
so is everyone buffed and ready to go?
As the bug crunches the trees and bursts through the tree line, the sound of battle raging can be heard. The Mother is launching a timed attack with Dogtongue. Lucrezia and Wink and Marc begin their assault.
I've several errand to run this morning but will get out initiative and the surprise round results when I get back.
Daniel Arrisen |
Upon seeing the Battle Before him Daniel uses his wand.
He looks to the jinky who'd been helping them lead the bug.
The opposite flank to Mother and Dogtongue's forces, over there! Ru it into the enemy. Thier attacks will keep it angry. And fighting on another front will divide their attention.
Euphemia di Nereis |
"Hoho, Andrea... sounds like an expensive pastime, but applying smear is so fun."
Euphemia lets her mouth curl upwards.
"Don't use Frank as an applicator, though. It's no good unless you've a thick hide."
She tries to find a target with her arms stretched out.
"Frank is no incarnated relation I know of, but he is and always has been my best friend. He is in my earliest memories as something poky and rewarding to cuddle with... You know, it's an odd time to wonder, but just how has he lived this long?"
Gerard Nisroc |
AC 29, 32 vs Lt Blades. Invisible. Clearing or Difficult Terrain? Also, wouldn't the smog mess with scent?
Gerard releases Euphemia's hand. Ranging 30' ahead, 25' up as the canopy allows.
Stealth, invisibility, heroism: 1d20 + 18 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 18 + 20 + 2 = 43
