The troll in the grease struggles to get to its feet.
Acrobatics 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 v DC 10
Nope.
Aravashnial completes his spell. A blazing elemental, a living whip of flame roughly four feet long, is summoned in the cavern. Aravashnial instructs it briefly in a hissing, popping language and it flies at the nearest troll where it lies on the floor, lashing it with liquid fire.
That's enough the kill C2.
Mulluq.

Mulluq'Tar Sheptat |

Mulluq seems uncertain, if only briefly, about stepping into the slippery grease surrounding the second troll. It doesn't last long, as he steps forward as best he can to remove the evil thing from the world. He manages suprisingly well to keep his footing, his tail swaying methodically as counter-balance. As he swings his sword at the prone thing, he throws his stance way off and threatens to topple himself, despite his success in moving in it.
Acrobatics to walk to P13 in the grease, 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (20) - 5 = 15
Holy waste of a 20, Batman! I didn't fall on my butt.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
What the heck? Arakan's in a different game.

Sol stares a little incredulously as Mulluq wades into the grease. Fire elemental, acid balls, javelins, arrows ....
"Mulluq! What are you?... Not every problem is solved with the sword!" Sol calls out.

Hannik |

Hannik's eagle begins pumping its wings and plows into the other sewer troll with talons outstretched. Meanwhile she turns to regard Aravashnial. "Niicee. You'll have to show me that sometime." She backs up and grabs his hand, "Come on you are getting separated from the group. You too Horgus! Not so far back!"
Hannik 5' back to L6.
Eagle charge to Q13 at 5 foot elevation
+ Smite Evil (assuming they are evil, +1 damage included below)

Sol sidesteps while fitting another arrow to his bowstring.
"... sometimes you need to use a bow."
Move to N14
Shortbow, point blank, fire into melee: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 8 ... damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 , x3, 60' (17 arrows )
but obviously Sol's bow isn't the one to use.

Jod Eastwind |

Looking at the summoned creatures and the grease, Jod decides he will try to head of any escape. Move to R12 and ready action to attack if the troll comes within reach.
Kira

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Acrobatics check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
The creature manages to stand up.
However, this attracts an AoO from all those around, so Mulluq and the eagle. If it survives this (and I'll let you know once the AoOs are done) it will attack Jod with its 10' reach.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 to hit, damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Really, really not this troll's day.
AoOs, then Aravashnial's fire elemental.

Mulluq'Tar Sheptat |

Mulluq is still somewhat trying to regain his balance after his previous swing throwing him off. The best thing going for him is the fact that the creature must stand up within the area of his blade.
AoO w/Long sword 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 (not counting the prone penalty it gets to AC), damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Mulluq swipes his sword at the thing, but misses.
Rolling a natural 1 to hit, to won't be hitting anything anytime soon.
The fire elemental leaps to attack. The troll's claw catches it but it still lashes back with a loop of flame which scorches the beast. Aravashnial shouts, "What's going on?"
It provokes an AoO from the troll.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 to hit, damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Attack on the troll
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 to hit, damage 1d4 ⇒ 3 plus burn
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Ref save v DC 11 to avoid catching fire for 1d4 damage per round
Mulluq.

Mulluq'Tar Sheptat |

Are you saying I rolled a nat 1? Not on my AoO. That was a nat 7.
Mulluq grows frustrated over his inability to protect the others by putting htis creature down. All the same, he is disappointed in himself for being a failure. Having figured out his stance, he swings with a growing ferocity, but snaps his teeth on empty space.
Full-attack
Long sword 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22, damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Bite 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Jod Eastwind |

I believe it was a reference to the troll's attack on Jod being a natural 1. That's what was going to happen if it survived to the point in the narrative where Aubrey made the comment, anyway.

Hannik |

Hannik cringes at Horgus moan. She isn't quite sure that anyone saw what happened with the first eagle and is too ashamed to admit it. Unable to heal him herself, she quietly unloads her crossbow and dismisses the second eagle.

![]() |

"ugh I will." Sol smiles back and returns his attention to the troll corpses. Damn. 'I will' I should have been able to say something more clever there. Acid balls and the goddess' bounty....
He shakes his head and almost hopes one of the trolls stirs.

Hannik |

"Give me just a minute. After all of that I think it's time to call Ghroth." Hannik begins an extended ritual culminating in a portal opening and Ghroth appearing in a runic circle. The monstrous slick skinned creature swivels its head without blinking while taking in the cavern.
"Still here?" he asks in a low monotone.
Hannik replies "Eh, what? You thought we were going to have breakfast and climb a ladder straight out? Help us get out of here. So far the caverns are pretty hostile."
Ghroth nods, "Then lets be hostile back. Which way?"

Jod Eastwind |

Sorry for the absence.
Jod watches over the creatures with Sol. "Well fought, my friend." He pats the sword he holds, "I'm a fan of focusing on getting better at a few options, but I have to admit that I'm impressed at how you and some of our allies have so many choices when it comes to battle."
He grins, "Maybe I need to learn some new tricks, eh?"

![]() |

"If I could swing an option like that sword as well as you do, I might not need others. As it stands we all do what we can." Sol waves a hand toward Hannik and Aravashnial. "They've got real power."
