Sol turns to look at Mulluq. He looks like a demon, but he's really like some cavalier crusader from a bard's tale. He's going to drive himself nuts if he thinks his shoulders are that broad.

"Hey, Mullock. Don't worry. Rhok, prob'ly wouldn't be casting if Horgus was dead."

BLT is black leathery things? I was hoping that they were a delicious sandwich lunch on the hoof.

Sol looks at the leathery bags. "Doesn't seem worth the time or extra weight to skin 'em." He pauses briefly, then another thought occurs to him.

"These things were probably top dog in this cavern. Since they're dead, it's probably a good spot for a rest. Maybe we can eat the breakfast that we skipped."

You can probably fly up the BLTs and call it calamari.

Kira, Jod, Mulluq;

Spoiler:
Two figures lurk quietly in the exit tunnel (the one you didn't come through, nearest Mulluq). They are man-sized but hunched with long arms. Their faces are hard to see in the dark, but they look bestial.

Male, Pitborn Tiefling Warrior of Iomedae's Holy Light 4/Guardian 1 (AC: 21 [T: 11 /FF: 20]; HP: 52/66; F+9, R+5, W+7; Init: +1; Perc: +0 [Darkvision 60'])

Mulluq feels his anger rise again, reminded of the term freak bandied about. All the same, concerned that they may be demonspawn like himself, he feels it necessary to send out his senses to identify evil in its forms.

Detect Evil in their direction.

Male Human (Kellid) Oracle of the Apocalypse 3

While the others debate the qualities of cave-monster leather, Rhok keeps working on the unconscious merchant.

Without staring at them, Jod speaks loud enough to be heard by the observers, "I don't know, Sol, they didn't seem terribly smart. They might have been someone's pets - or guard dogs. I don't want to offend someone by camping in a holy place - are we sure this is good place? We want to avoid unnecessary trouble, right?"

As he speaks, he sheathes his falchion. He sits on his heels, positioned so he can see the tunnel, as he pretends to study the creature more.

In a much lower voice, he adds, "We have more company. Don't know if they are hostile. So far, they are just watching."

Sol squats across the dead leathery thing from Jod and glances sidelong towards their new visitors. Keeping his voice low he says, "Pretty damned ugly pets."

Rhok casts another healing spell. Horgus coughs and opens his eyes, both of them swollen by bruising.

Mulluq:

Spoiler:
The creatures slide in though the cavern entrance and separate, each keeping to the shadows as they manoeuvre either side of you. You pick up a faint aura of evil.

Map updated.

Jod, Kira: I actually cocked up somewhat - you can't see the entrance of the cavern as there is a globe of darkness in the way. Which means you can't see the creatures and therefore can't react to them. The sphere of darkness will be there for about five minutes.

Ranger (Infiltrator, Skirmisher) 4/Champion 1 | 41/43 hp | AC 18, T12, F16 | Saves F8, R7, W4 | Perc +11 | MP 4/5 | Effects:

Mulluq reacts to the hint of evil in the way he deems best, he calls out to them, "I hope the both of you realize that your presence has been noticed. Even more, I can sense there is a darkness, not lightlessness, but a darkness of soul. I warn you that if you deign to come at us with wicked intentions, you will be dealt with both quickly and mercilessly. I have taken these good folk under my care, and I will brook no ill will towards them."

You are close enough to see them properly with your darkvision. The are long-armed creatures, man-sized, with long claws. They have a predatory slouch about them, and their faces have long, snaggle-toothed muzzles and glittering red eyes. As you call out to them, they tense and then leap to pounce.

Mulluq, Dungeoneering DC 12:

Spoiler:
These are sewer trolls - like their larger cousins they have regenerative powers but they are, mercifully, smaller and weaker.

Sol:

Spoiler:
You see two man-sized creatures lurking in the shadows, preparing to pounce on Mulluq.

The rest of you:

Spoiler:
Mulluq calls out a challenge to someone. Then there is a shout and battle is suddenly joined once more.

"Mulluq, stay left!"

Sol dabs a finger into a greasy little pouch and points at the farther troll. A few arcane words and a slippery gel covers the floor around it.

Cast grease squares P13-Q14. DC13 reflex save

Grease:
...A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

...

I hope that delays it a round.

Reflex save for C1 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

The sewer troll standing in Sol's patch of conjured grease slips and falls on its backside.

Rhok.

By the way, how long is Hannik's conjured dog around for?

HP 34/34 | Init +2 | AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +3 R +3 W +4 | Per +1 | MP: 7/7

10 rounds.
I used him 2 rounds during the last fight. Not sure how long we spent in between. I figured he had at least enough left to run over and provide a non PC target before I summon something else.
Let me know where you think we are on the duration.

Say, round 7.

Male Human (Kellid) Oracle of the Apocalypse 3

Rhok advances towards the nearest troll, waving his spear threateningly. "Time to die, little troll," he barks in Giant.

Double move to O9 before using my quick intimidate ability (from the Omen trait) to demoralise C2. Intimidate check 14+7=21.

Jod, then Kira.

With half-speed movement in the darkness and diagonals, I'm pretty sure it will require a double move for me to get close and then I can't do anything, so

Jod moves back into the darkness for a moment, carefully placing his feet until he can see again and then continuing to move straight as he draws his sword once more.

Move to O8

Kira

Mythic Power: 5{5}Wand Female Human Inquisitor 4 HP: 31{31} AC: 18 Judgement 2{2}:, T: 12 FF: 16 XP Treasure

Kira moves to see the new threat properly and get a little closer, then completely fails to hit the thing.

Move Action: Move around the darknes to L7 (20ft) Which should put me within 30ft of C2.

Standard Action: Shoot at C2: Atk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 DMG: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Damnit! I like the rol of 1d202 in the preiview that got me hitting AC 97. And I liked the Natural 20 on the damage dice too.... Damn it!

The troll cringes as Rhok advances on it. It swipes half-heartedly at Hannik's summoned dog. Meanwhile, the other troll struggles to stand up and advance on Mulluq.

C2 full attack on the dog. If the dog falls, it will 5' step and attack Mulluq if any attacks are left over - it doesn't fancy tackling Rhok right now.

Claw 1 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 2 = 14 to hit, damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Claw 2 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 - 2 = 18 to hit, damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Bite 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 - 2 = 7 to hit, damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

C1 tries to stand and move through the grease at half speed, needing an Acrobatic check DC 10 to do so. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4. Nope, still flat on its back, although the grease will be gone next round.

Horgus crawls painfully towards the wall. Meanwhile, Aravashnial says, "Trolls? Now this I can handle!" and he begins chanting a spell.

I stand corrected - misread the spell description. Looks like my troll will be sliding about for some time.

Mulluq heeds Sol's words, and avoids the one sliding around in the slippery pool. He asks his goddess to empower him with what he needs to overcome these new enemies. Enemies that both spark of evil intentions toward his companions. "Inheritor, grant me the strength to punish the wicked, lest their vile influence corrupt and harm the innocent." With that request, he steps forward to the one left standing and gives it his all.

No need for Mulluq to 5' step and the troll is coming to him.

The troll steps over and snaps its jaws at Mulluq. Mulluq slashes his sword across its belly, powered by holy zeal. He then leans forward and bites it in the throat, much to its surprise.

C2 still standing, but badly injured.

Sol's Bardic Knowledge:

Spoiler:
Sewer trols are a lot like normal trolls, only smaller. They are ravenous predators, often living under civislised areas where they hunt in the sewer systems or other underground areas. They are a bit less aggressive than normal trolls, perhaps due to their smaller size, but they have spindly arms and a surprisingly long reach. Like their bigger cousins, they can regenerate from almost any wound unless it is inflicted by acid or fire.
