About Rhok Redmoon

Appearance: 6’0", 190 lbs, brown hair and beard that is starting to prematurely go white. Though Rhok is tall, strong and broad-shouldered, his age is hard to place - his youthful looks and twitchy, nervous energy conflict with his haggard face, graying hair and tired-looking eyes. His most striking feature is his eyes, which are of such a pale shade of blue that it almost seems like he has no irises at all. Though he keeps himself clean, he has no real interest in his appearance, and his hair and beard tend to have a wild look to them. He dresses in furs and mail; a silver holy symbol of Gozreh hangs around his neck.

Background:

Rhok is a member of the Bearpelt following of the Realm of the Mammoth Lords. Though he was in no way close to Bearpelt leader Mighty Kuldor or his court, he has still had a rather comfortable life, spending most of his time working as a healer as the following wandered the steppes. However, Rhok has been bothered by terrifying dreams about the end of the world and the remaking of all things for many years. Most of the time, these dreams, as well as their attendant whispers and haunts, have been little more than a low-level nuisance. However, the visions have become more frequent and intense, and the voices are louder and more insistent now. Following them, Rhok has travelled to the city of Kenabres to warn the local rulers about their impending doom. However, nobody would receive him or listen to his warnings, and Rhok fears that it may be too late to avert the coming catastrophe...

Due to an odd confluence of planetary orbits and atmospheric dust whirled up by the unnatural weather patterns of the Worldwound, Rhok was born under a full, blood red moon. He is certain that this inauspicious omen is connected to his curse or to his dreams, but he has never been able to get any kind of satisfactory answer to this question. Though he doesn't like to talk about it, he will occasionally seek out the advice of astrologers or planar experts; he reacts extraordinarily poorly to being called "Bloodmoon", as several would-be wits have discovered. When he needs respite from his visions and the voices, he seeks out quiet, wide-open spaces and revels in the wind and rain; thus, he is broadly sympathetic to the gentler aspects of the teachings of the church of Gozreh.
