My guess is the people behind the barricade have at least Partial Cover, increasing the difficulty to hit them by 1 die. Most of us have at least Partial Cover except for Estelle and Slim, our negotiators, who have none. The numbers are even but more of them have cover than us which is why I figure only shooting if necessary. Plus they have assault rifles which can do burst fire. Tenebrous has a Nimbleness of 4 so he would likely get to act first.

Estelle is more likely to leave and stay alive, rather than get ripped to shreds by machine gun fire from several troops. Even if she weren't willing to let this place go, she'd rather mount an assault when it wasn't expected, rather than in broad daylight during a heated argument.
Really, though, surprise murder isn't her style, so she's more than likely to give up - least for now. Still, if the snipers open fire, she'll have little choice, and I'm all for roleplaying that if you guys do want to start trying something, but there's a definite chance of Slim and I dying.

Which is why Tenebrous hasn't started shooting. Surprise murder actually *is* his style as is setting up a situation where he or his group have the advantage. This is *not* such a situation. If we can leave we should....we can either go the longer way or figure something else out in privacy.

i agree. you said if i ram through, there is a turn in front of a cliff shortly thereafter?
There is a steep drop off on your left and a hillside on your right. Then there is the roadblock and a sharp turn to the right directly past the roadbloack. It would take some fancy driving on your part to smash through safely; but then again that is what you do!

yeah, i probably have a good shot at pulling it off. Then again if i didn't, it'd be campaign over. Of course any fight in this system has a chance of ending the campaign, and i could spend some FP to salvage, so once we discuss in character i will see what the others come up with.
