Ifrit Street Performer [ HP 40/40 | AC 20/13/17, Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +3 | Init +9; Perception +2 ]

I'm not sure exactly what Digger has in mind, but if we can subdue the captain and the lieutenant, that should give us enough leverage to take the wagons with the drivers. If the spell works on the captain, or he actually surrenders, then we can disarm him, bind him, and order him to dismiss the troops. From there, the combat is as good as over.

For now, a readied action against a hostile act will do, against the captain. Remember, if he moves, he'll be flat footed.

Ifrit Street Performer [ HP 40/40 | AC 20/13/17, Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +3 | Init +9; Perception +2 ]

Apologies for kind of monopolizing the play, if I am guilty of such. I figured; if the captain won't yield while friendly, then there's no hope to get him to surrender the caravan. Was it too rushed?

Male Human Summoner 6 [ HP 60/60 | AC 16/12/14, Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +5 (+2 to all when within eidolon's reach) | Init +4; Perception +0 ]

I don't think so. I don't mind in any case. We'll just see what happens next.

Ifrit Street Performer [ HP 40/40 | AC 20/13/17, Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +3 | Init +9; Perception +2 ]

Don't really know how to show that the mageocracy isn't invincible, but likewise don't know why he thinks it even is...

Hmm...

Not sure where Mong has disappeared to. And it seems I can't send him private PM's on the forums - the option simply doesn't appear for his name when I click on it. Does the option to send him a PM show up for anyone else?

Ifrit Street Performer [ HP 40/40 | AC 20/13/17, Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +3 | Init +9; Perception +2 ]

Can't PM him. He is a man of few words anyway, so wouldn't it be easy to NPC him?

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

it would be but allowing another player to join would add to the fun. Unfortunately with 24 players a few will dissappear ):

I will run him if need be, but its not ideal.

Jake the Rat wrote:

This unfortunately seems to be a given in PbP. Lot of games on these forums simply die out because the GM or to many players disappear.

Male Human Summoner 6 [ HP 60/60 | AC 16/12/14, Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +5 (+2 to all when within eidolon's reach) | Init +4; Perception +0 ]

Indeed. I'm alright with replacing Mong and I can't seem to PM him either.

Also, huzzah, got my internet back up! Yay stable connection!

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

I had a quick look at his profile and he posted this about 2 weeks ago:

If we're getting a replacement, it would be good to do it now before the next mission, where the lieutenant will introduce/assign the new person to replace Mong.

I've got a PM out to a player who didn't make it into the merchant's guild group. If I don't hear from him soon I'll put up a new thread in the recruitment forums for a replacement.

Looking for a new recruit here
replacement player

Feel free to follow along in that thread and give input for any applicants as to who you would like to join the group.

You guys have a preference for which of the interested parties become Mong's replacement? CCCXLII's fighter or tomtesserae' barbarian or Hazan Razzka's inquisitor (pending a back story still).

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

Currently I would go for Joruth, his back story is interesting and I like the idea of adding religious ideals to a future government. The other two really need to expand their background for my liking. CCCXLII is certainly active and keen and if expanded background to make it a little more compelling might also make a good addition. The inquisitor is too early to know, I think an inquisitor would be a good add to our party but the crunch isn't finish yet and there is no background.

Sorry I haven't replied in game play will get to soon but have to go out now.

Ifrit Street Performer [ HP 40/40 | AC 20/13/17, Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +3 | Init +9; Perception +2 ]

Eadgart Gene Pentti gets my vote for now. CCCXLII has made a character that suits our needs better, and the simple mercenary background matches. I don't think much of Joruth's background. Basically, he wants to join because a personally important statue was vandalized. No thanks, I'll take the mercenary.

That is pending the story from the inquisitor, if he gets something good in here soon, he might get my vote.

Male Catfolk Ranger (Skirmisher/Urban Ranger) 4/Rogue (Roof Runner) 2 [ HP 51/66 | AC 19/15/15 | Fort +6, Ref +11, Will +2 | Init +4 (+6 in Coran) | Perception +12 (+2 in Coran, +2 vs. Humans, +1 vs. Traps) ]

I vote for CCCXLII's character as well, barring any sort of background and finished crunch for the inquisitor.

tomtesserae's character seems off, somehow: 28 rounds (?!?) of rage for the barbarian, but no cleave path, power attack, low strength, etc. Barbarians are sooo much more than just about rage, and throwing away 2 feats for extra rounds is ridiculous.

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

I'm happy to switch my vote to Hazan Razzka now that he has a background. His background gives the best idea of the character and best reason for supporting the Rebellion. I wouldn't be disappointed with any of them but CCCXLII's background is just a little scant for my liking, and I don't like the idea of the rebellion hiring mercenaries to work along side their operatives, it would compromise security too much.

Jake and Rocosmia for Hazan.
Drewan currently for CCCXLII.

Any preferences from Digger or Dev?

From my perspective Hazan has some interesting background elements I can tie in pretty tightly.

Male Catfolk Ranger (Skirmisher/Urban Ranger) 4/Rogue (Roof Runner) 2 [ HP 51/66 | AC 19/15/15 | Fort +6, Ref +11, Will +2 | Init +4 (+6 in Coran) | Perception +12 (+2 in Coran, +2 vs. Humans, +1 vs. Traps) ]

I'd be fine with either, at this point. Considering the current lean towards him, as well as making the GM's job easier, I'd say let's go with Hazan.

M Human (multi-ethnic) Rogue Charlatan 6

Works for me.

Half-Orc Inquisitor 5 HP 55/55 AC 21(25)/12/19 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +6 Init +4; Perception +10

Hey everyone. Happy to be here.

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

Welcome

Welcome Hazan, can I have you add a brief physical description of your character to your profile? Thanks. And feel free to declare yourself as hanging out in one of the side streets on the current map.

And a brief synopsis for Hazan of events so far.

Party met out near Gumlat to talk with the captain of the resistance.

Party was sent on a mission to waylay a supply caravan for food supplies.

On the way they came across a settlement where all but a little girl were slaughtered, most were beheaded. Including the animals. The work of one claiming to go by the name of Radgar. 10 years ago he was called Radgar the Butcher, and killed a number of people in Coran in gruesome ways. He escaped capture and has not been heard of since till now.

A minor skirmish occurred at the caravan, but through some bluff and magic many of the guards were sent off. The caravan captain showed a hatred for the mages and they tried to recruit him - but his irritation at having his caravan charge robbed from him put him at odds.

Part of the resistance is remaining out in the wilderness to begin hit and strike opportunities against tower patrols - while the group was sent to meet up with in Coran and accomplish three things.

1) Steal a dozen or more city guard uniforms.
2) A large public meeting is taking place this evening, if the opportunity arises assassinate one of the mages in attendance - either before, after, or during the meeting (probably not during since it would be hard to remove the body and prevent a raise dead).
3) Spread rumors of Radgar to weaken the mages hold over the citizenry.

The group is just starting the scheme to still guard uniforms.

Half-Orc Inquisitor 5 HP 55/55 AC 21(25)/12/19 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +6 Init +4; Perception +10

Descriptions up. Would the current map be the wash area map?

Yes.

Male Human Summoner 6 [ HP 60/60 | AC 16/12/14, Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +5 (+2 to all when within eidolon's reach) | Init +4; Perception +0 ]

Greetings, Hazan! Nice ta meetcha.

Since the meeting is this evening, we've sort of split up into two groups. One which is getting the uniforms (wash area) and one which is purchasing equipment to prepare for tonight.

You're welcome to join either. It's only me running errands at the moment and I might spread rumors while I'm at it. I don't really need anyone to come with me though since I'm just purchasing and I'm not expecting to be attacked.

How much gp did Jake give me?

Half-Orc Inquisitor 5 HP 55/55 AC 21(25)/12/19 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +6 Init +4; Perception +10

I'll join the uniform stealing group. Seems like I-39 is out of sight of where people currently are but close enough for someone to stumble across me. Are we looking for each other?

No, I did a minor retcon to have you meet with the group last night - in some ways just hand waving your joining the group.

Half-Orc Inquisitor 5 HP 55/55 AC 21(25)/12/19 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +6 Init +4; Perception +10

Gotcha. Divin in head first.

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

Sorry I'm rather under the weather currently. I'll try to keep up with posting but please don't let it hold up the game

No worries on that Jake.

Going to start pushing rumors into the various game play groups - these will include items this group presented in this discussion thread and current in game events going on from the different factions.

The campaign info tab will always contain the latest bit of gossip and rumor.

Half-Orc Inquisitor 5 HP 55/55 AC 21(25)/12/19 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +6 Init +4; Perception +10

I'm having a bit of difficulty piecing together whats going on in the wash area.

Ifrit Street Performer [ HP 40/40 | AC 20/13/17, Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +3 | Init +9; Perception +2 ]

We were waiting for uniforms to show up. When they did, Digger cast a silent illusion of rats coming out the drain, and Rocosmia gave it sound. When the people fled, Rocosmia began gathering up the uniforms. Now, as she finishes loading the uniforms into a basket, she's leaving, hopefully unnoticed with the distance between them. Just a bit of luck and they'll be gone without any trouble with the uniforms.

Half-Orc Inquisitor 5 HP 55/55 AC 21(25)/12/19 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +6 Init +4; Perception +10

I see. So really the best thing for me to do would be saunter out as nonchalantly as possible.

Male Catfolk Ranger (Skirmisher/Urban Ranger) 4/Rogue (Roof Runner) 2 [ HP 51/66 | AC 19/15/15 | Fort +6, Ref +11, Will +2 | Init +4 (+6 in Coran) | Perception +12 (+2 in Coran, +2 vs. Humans, +1 vs. Traps) ]

Things are going pretty swimmingly at the moment - there might be no need. If she can hand off the uniforms to Drewan, she can disguise herself quickly and can get away easily. If the guards are thrown off by Digger's bluff, she can get away that way, too.

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

still feeling sick feel free to assume that Puck doesn't get the money for the spell and we can catch his adventure up as we go.

Half-Orc Inquisitor 5 HP 55/55 AC 21(25)/12/19 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +6 Init +4; Perception +10

Who are those three people to my right on the map?

Random people on the street.

M Human (multi-ethnic) Rogue Charlatan 6

Here's hoping a 40 bluff helps ...

Ifrit Street Performer [ HP 40/40 | AC 20/13/17, Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +3 | Init +9; Perception +2 ]

Don't you get caught now! I want my wand back.

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

Feeling better now but will be away from computer for a couple of days. I hope all goes well.

Ifrit Street Performer [ HP 40/40 | AC 20/13/17, Fort +2, Ref +8, Will +3 | Init +9; Perception +2 ]

Just keeping track here, I'll post every couple days at least until Roco is part of the interaction again.

Half-Orc Inquisitor 5 HP 55/55 AC 21(25)/12/19 Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +6 Init +4; Perception +10

So what was in that scroll I lifted? I believe Rocosmia made a bunch of knowledge checks in case anything needed deciphering.

Human Summoner (HP 54/54, AC 14/11/13, F+4, R+4, W+6 (+2 to AC and all saves if Puck is within reach), Init+1, Per+0)

Just a quick note. I'm moving house this saturday and the ISP says it'll take a week to connect at the new place. I'll have phone and internet at work for that time but posts are likely to be short.

This was the document you lifted:

"Captain Kaleg:

Evidence so far regarding the murders of two nights ago continues to point to some internal power struggle with criminal elements.

Efforts should continue to be directed towards finding additional information on the perpetrators.

All watch patrols during night hours should remain on high alert with patrol groups doubling up."

Sorry. I actually found where you originally posted it after I asked the question. I promise to be more vigilant in the future.
