Diplomacy only works on NPCs (unless the GM says otherwise).
I think you guys can think about it as how... favorable he appears, but it is not word of law for the pcs for how they react.
You can judge his abilities as orator by these scores, though.
Think about it as whether or not you react to his voice and general way of speaking as Erkyl or Liam Neeson.
I think of it as fun "RP rolls".
Like sometimes I'll roll dice to determine how my character acts or makes decisions. I'm just treating his Diplomacy roll as "forcing" me to be nicer to him since he has great diplomacy and I'm easy to win over. :P
Admittedly I prefer convincing descriptions over dice rolls, as for how appealing he is, well he does have charisma 15.
ET. and Arodus are both right in their assessment of my intentions with this, + my character has no concept of PC vs NPC. It's simply what Edric would've done, just like he's been sizing all of you up from first post. That's actually why he initially ignored you Devana, he wanted to see how quickly you'd think of moving the pew and if you'd try to do it yourself. Thus far you're ahead of the pack by his books, with good natured Arodus falling behind. XD Cerio remains a mystery for now.
Anyway, Edric isn't the type to force anyone to do anything, and even if he was he currently lacks the skill points, feats, spells, and/or class features to do so.
Also ET. any results with those spells yet. By Edric's books not even being able to determine a North is valuable information as well.

Well, I live in Germany, UTC+1 during winter. The original post to react to came at 1:38 am, the reminder to react at 3:51 am in my time zone. I slept from 12 am to 7:30 am and went straight to work afterwards and had little time to worry about play-by-post games during work.
Well, now I know. :D
And knowing is half the battle.

I actually use RSS readers to keep track of the games in the different forums. That's particularly helpful if you want to use a cell phone to monitor changes.

I just have a button on my phone that goes to my campaign page which shows all my campaigns and if any of them have new updates in discussion or gameplay. Every 20 minutes or so I pull out my phone and check that page :
I also use an RSS feed but only for the game I'm GMing

Sorry. Weekends tend to be slow for me online because I have:
1. Plans on Saturday with my friends, pretty much always, and slide between 2 groups.
2. I teach Sunday School on Sunday, go to church, and then do whatever needs doing right after. Expect that stuff will happen soon.

I know this is moving slowly, guys. It isn't dead, I've just had a lot to do, and will be gone from late tonight until late Sunday. The good news is it gives me a lot of time to think about where I am going with this. :@
