If I meet death first, do I win a prize? :P
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
He kind of fits the tank roll so he might as well soak up a bit of damage for the group.
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7

Fails Bend Bars, Lift Gates check to help harpies... YES!

Is it possible to do a Defy Danger to not spend a hold? Since it's one of my normal moves? I kinda want to stay an Gorilla just a Bit Longer.
All normal moves (that make sense, can't Parley obviously) can still be done in animal form. The only way you spend hold is by auto-succeeding on one of your "Gorilla moves".
Plus you could always spend a hold and then shapeshift again. There's no limit on the number of times per day you can shift.
Female Elf Druid 3 | XP: 7 | HP: 19/19 | Armor: 1 | Str: +1 Dex:+0 Con: +1 Int: +0 Wis: +3 Cha: -1
True, I was just weighing options.
Male Elf Barbarian 2 HP: 20/20 XP: 2
Sorry Olivius, I tried. :/ At least you can die happy knowing that I got an XP trying to save you.
Female Elf Druid 3 | XP: 7 | HP: 19/19 | Armor: 1 | Str: +1 Dex:+0 Con: +1 Int: +0 Wis: +3 Cha: -1
Maybe my smash to the head did some good? Maybe it stopped the Monk?
Human Thief 5 XP: 5| HP: 15/15. | Armor: 1 Golden root x2; Acidic Fire bombs x10; mutant armor potion x1 | Str: 9 (+0) Dex: 18 (+3) Con: 9 (+0) Int: 16 (+2) Wis: 12 (+0) Cha: 13 (+1) | [Current Effects:]
Lol, indeed. Now I know my life was worth something: 1XP!
Sinathel: if you don't stop being awesome you're never going to level up. :P
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
We still have to see if he hits 0 and than he still has a chance with his Last Breath roll.
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
Oh and two things that I find prudent at this point:
Hawke's Bond for Olivius wrote: I worry about the ability of Olivius to survive in the dungeon. And in regards to Sinathel never leveling up because of being awesome:
Just look at Hawke, he's sucking it up and ready to level already.
Human Thief 5 XP: 5| HP: 15/15. | Armor: 1 Golden root x2; Acidic Fire bombs x10; mutant armor potion x1 | Str: 9 (+0) Dex: 18 (+3) Con: 9 (+0) Int: 16 (+2) Wis: 12 (+0) Cha: 13 (+1) | [Current Effects:]
Olivius worries about his ability to survive in a dungeon now, too!
Also, I'm thinking
Bonds wrote: _Si-Yi/ Hawke/Sinathel_ has my back when things go wrong.
We'll see who's leading at the end of the session. :)
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
I kind of see Hawke feeling as if he has repaid you at this piont to be honest. He saved you from a gruesome death while you were stuck underneath the bookcase. What happened after that is Olivius' to deal with.
Female Elf Druid 3 | XP: 7 | HP: 19/19 | Armor: 1 | Str: +1 Dex:+0 Con: +1 Int: +0 Wis: +3 Cha: -1
Speaking of me ^^
The list of Sinathel's Likely animal choices along the journey:
In the Abandoned City: Tiger, Pythons, Owls, Bats, Gorilla, Rodents (Mice and Squirrels)
In the Cold Wasteland: Bears (Mostly Grizzly, possibly a Black or Brown), Owls, Moose, Elk
In the Jungle: Primates, Parrots, Tiger, Jaguar, Leopard, Poison Dart Frogs
I had this list mostly done, lost it and had to redo it ^^;
@Hawke and Olivios: And what's not awesome about Gorillas throwing bookcases and Fly-by Owl attacks? :)

Nothing. They're completely awesome! That's the problem. You'll never hit level 2. Lol
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
It's awesome, but you'll never get new abilities.
On the other hand, it doesn't hurt having someone that can autosucceed on stuff. Especially after seeing my rolls... >.>
Female Elf Druid 3 | XP: 7 | HP: 19/19 | Armor: 1 | Str: +1 Dex:+0 Con: +1 Int: +0 Wis: +3 Cha: -1
Actually I think I just get delayed on EXP till the end of the 'session', so whenever that hits? I should get EXP?
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
Everyone will get experience at the end. You can earn more through class abilities and rolling really crappily. I see it as adventurers learning from their mistakes, as long as they manage to survive their mistakes.
For example the Barbarian has a lot of moves and such that give him experience.
You can earn experience for folling a six or below.
You earn an experience for each of the three questions you are asked at the end of every session that you answer with a yes.
Finally, you earn experience for resolving a bond at the end of a session.
I'm not really aware of anything else that gives you experience otherwise.
Female Elf Druid 3 | XP: 7 | HP: 19/19 | Armor: 1 | Str: +1 Dex:+0 Con: +1 Int: +0 Wis: +3 Cha: -1
Following your Alignment does as well.
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
There you go. The experience for failing just kind of helps everyone feel like they are achieving something no matter what they roll.

Ahh. Ok. I remember reading that now. :)
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
If you die, I'm totally going with my bond for you Olivius so your character's life is worth at least 2 xp if that makes you feel better. :P

It does. :)
Phone is dying. Will post again in a few hours when I get home.
Thanks Olivius. That'll give me time to come up with a good bargain for your life.

Wow. He must really be thinking about this deal.
I'm going to have to take a vow of poverty, aren't I...
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
Something might have come up as well.
Hmm...perhaps you'll never be allowed to steal and cheat again...or maybe you'll always have to tell the truth...
Human Thief 5 XP: 5| HP: 15/15. | Armor: 1 Golden root x2; Acidic Fire bombs x10; mutant armor potion x1 | Str: 9 (+0) Dex: 18 (+3) Con: 9 (+0) Int: 16 (+2) Wis: 12 (+0) Cha: 13 (+1) | [Current Effects:]
All fates that might make Olivius think twice about this whole "alive" thing.
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
"You may live once more, but know that you will never again feel any emotion other than greed and that it will surely lead you to your doom."
"It seems you have arrived early young Olivius, however I may not allow you to leave this place without having given something in return. Know that one day I will call upon you for a favor and no amount of wealth can protect you from me."
Human Thief 5 XP: 5| HP: 15/15. | Armor: 1 Golden root x2; Acidic Fire bombs x10; mutant armor potion x1 | Str: 9 (+0) Dex: 18 (+3) Con: 9 (+0) Int: 16 (+2) Wis: 12 (+0) Cha: 13 (+1) | [Current Effects:]
Hmmm. Both would give him pause, but I like the second better. At least I can grow him as a character with that option. :)
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
Yet we can only ponder upon what sinister deal you will be given.
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
The idea of Hawke carrying all of this around amuses me.
Yeah, good luck with that. :P

When one accepts Death's offer, does their HP become 0 or 1 or what?
Let's say 1, I'm not totally sure on that.
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
He's a walking talking arsenal. Good thing he has all that encumbrance. He's not even broken it yet.
I have everything Hawke has found on his character sheet at this point in time. He has about 3 more weight he can carry before it starts effecting him however. So if you wish to get something from him, let him know.
This morning on the way in to work I was having fun imaginining this druid who took her fascination with animals to an almost nerdy level. She'd spout off about animal facts at any opportunity, and it becomes badass when she applies said knowledge: "Did you know that Bengal Tigers have a measured crushing strength of 1,000 pounds per square inch with their jaws? Let me show you..."
Human Thief 5 XP: 5| HP: 15/15. | Armor: 1 Golden root x2; Acidic Fire bombs x10; mutant armor potion x1 | Str: 9 (+0) Dex: 18 (+3) Con: 9 (+0) Int: 16 (+2) Wis: 12 (+0) Cha: 13 (+1) | [Current Effects:]
Oh, this system lends itself to awesome! That was epic, Si-Yi!
Agreed, Si-Yi, that wasn't what I expected you to do at all. Great roll too.
And by the way, Hawke, while you're stunned you do take a -1 on your Int rolls. But for knocks about the head in combat you usually clear up in a few moments, depending on the fiction.
Male Elf Barbarian 2 HP: 20/20 XP: 2
Thanks guys. :D I like how the system lets you be a badass barbarian right from level 1. (as long as you roll >6, of course)
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
Ah, much better~ Maybe he just needs his brain rattled more often to keep all of those distracting thoughts away.
Edit: Oh and don't forget your +1 Damage if your swinging your two-handed sword Si-Yi.
Female Elf Druid 3 | XP: 7 | HP: 19/19 | Armor: 1 | Str: +1 Dex:+0 Con: +1 Int: +0 Wis: +3 Cha: -1
I'll make a post when I can think coherently enough to do so today. I worked a delayed-start 14 hr day yesterday, not counting my commute time before coming in at regular hours. I think I had maybe 4 hrs of sleep last night.
Rough. Well like I said earlier, no hard posting requirements, so post whenever you can. :)
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
Perhaps our feline friend is waiting to ambush any harpies that make their way through? Seems like masonry would be hard to chew on. :P
Female Elf Druid 3 | XP: 7 | HP: 19/19 | Armor: 1 | Str: +1 Dex:+0 Con: +1 Int: +0 Wis: +3 Cha: -1
That was my plan. Do they taste like chicken? :)
Fighter 3 | HP 19/26 | Armor 2 | XP 7
Unfortunately I don't think Hawke's Spout Lore check from earlier answered such an important question and he's only tried to wrestle them and squish them with a book shelf so far.
I guess my follow up question would be, can you tenderize a rock snake?
Female Elf Druid 3 | XP: 7 | HP: 19/19 | Armor: 1 | Str: +1 Dex:+0 Con: +1 Int: +0 Wis: +3 Cha: -1
Is it sad that I already know her next animal morph? And... random bits of knowledge about it? I've had it picked out for a while now.
It's not sad, it's excellent.
