As the lizardman acquiesces to his demand, Roderick glances at his companions hoping for some indicator as to their thoughts. "That is not unreasonable, as it will let us inspect our payment to guarantee that it is legitimate. What guarantee do we have our envoy will be safe and that you won't simply fly off with him to..." Roderick struggles for a moment to find the right word, "...coerce him to reveal the location of our goods without paying? Perhaps you will acquiesce to an exchange of persons, of sorts, to guarantee mutual good behavior?"

One of the two on the weapon emplacement picks up a pin and slams it into a piece of metal three times. When he does so, two lizardfolk come up on the deck, in time to meet Adraniel and Elara. The two look big and bulky, far larger than the lizardfolks on the beach. Instead of a green with a feathered crest, they are dark blue-black and have a spiny crest with skin stretching between the spines.

When they land, the one on the left speaks. "Pay." It rumbles, in barely understandable common. Between them is a small chest. The one on the right reaches down while keeping an eye on Adraniel and Elara, and opens the chest with one claw. Inside are some platinum and gold coins, and some gems.

Adraniel, It connected, you did damage, you didn't crit. Obviously, neither did Alys. Everyone not on the ship other than Alys rolls a perception check, DC 18, to see if they realize combat started. If they do, they go on their initiative, if not, they don't. Sorry, I meant to clarify that earlier, but work distracted me.

Everyone can act in round 1, it's only the surprise round you might not be able to act. So Rory can act, Connor is surprised. If Adraniel had told Hero what he was planning, then Connor would not have had to roll, he'd have been 'waiting' for it.

Current Active Presence (Indomitable(can benefit those close to me)):

the warlord shines as a beacon to his allies on the field of battle, inspiring them to fight with him to their last breath. All allies within 30-ft. of his position gain the benefits of the Die Hard feat, and may add the warlord's Charisma modifier to Fortitude saves versus death effects, fatigue or exhaustion effects, or poison effects as a morale bonus.

Current Active Stance (Golden Commander Stance(can benefit those close to me):

Through the use of the Golden Lion disciple's superior tactical ability, he is able to direct his allies in combat for maximum effectiveness. As long as his allies within 30-ft. of him can clearly hear his shouts and understand his language, he grants his allies the ability to gain flanking with all adjacent allies that are fighting in melee against the same opponent (i.e. if two allies of the initiator are 20-ft. away fighting a target together, and the initiator has another ally assisting him in combat against a different target, both pairs gain flanking bonuses against their foes even if they are not normally in flanking position).

Roderick watches Adraniel fly out to the boat, nervously watching for some sign from the man. The flash at the top of the boat, following by the quick plunging of the blade elicit a gasp from the humavian as he reflexes twists his wrist to release the mutagen held in his belt. He downs it quickly and then looks to the nearest lizardman even as his features begin to twist to become more feline.

Swift action to draw my mutagen and standard to down it.

The northernmost lizardfolk hisses in anger as Alys misses and slams her bolt into the side of the ship, splintering hull.

He turns and steps toward her and unloads both barrels of the sawed off shotgun. two barrels, one trigger pull

The thing gun roars and sends shrapnel through the trees! Bits of metal whizz past Alys' face, but luckily she is missed as the log jam takes most of the shrapnel.

Connor's blue construct is not so lucky as no less than three pieces of shrapnel slam into it's head, blowing bits of ectoplasm all over Alys, coating her in the nasty stuff. Dead? Alive? Afterwards, the lizardfolk drops the spent shotgun.

The lead lizardfolk hisses as well, and takes a step back, flipping it's shotgun out of it's holster with such speed that the thing seems to leap out of it's holster and into his hand! perception dc 20, if you're not surprised After it fires, it lands several feet behind the lizardfolk, as he lets the recoil flip it out of his hand and behind him, spent.

A pound of lead slams into Rory's back! The double gut punch of being shot in the face and the back at the same time incredibly painful!

Fortunately for Rory, the round comes in at an angle, and most of the lead spends itself on the rock beyond him as it glances on his armor!

Yes, you can't take a full round action (Only a move or standard), but you can take a 5ft adjust, which is a non-action (See combat chapter). Yes, it could have made a difference, if you'd been flat footed. Connor came close to getting hit being flat footed, but the penalties for range made it miss him.

Connor was ready to have Hero tell Adran to start the ambush when the lizardfolk on the beach went crazy, surprising him. Just after Rory spoke the lizards opened fire with their firearms. Hero, I think the 'signal has been sent'. Sending constructs your way. Tell the others. Connor sent telepathically as he dropped to a crouch among all that flying lead. He had no warning - and things had just gotten sandbag-shaped.

Big Blue, fly up and protect Alys by being a target. Connor telepathically commanded. The construct, its' head nearly severed at the neck and missing large chunks of its' body in the torso, unfurled its' wings (fly up 10 feet, hover, not transformed yet). Big Red, get over here and attack. (Double move, ground, not flight. 80 ft.) The other "Big" construct immediately started crashing through the woods like a runaway carriage. One, Two, and Three - do your thing and get those lizards. The two "escorts" near Roderick changed, their arms becoming heavier as the fighters lost their dexterity. The first flew-jumped straight into the air, throwing a fist at the lizardman across from Roderick as it dropped back down.

Construct #1 Slam atk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 (#$&*! 4 rds left)

The second, damaged, attempted the same, landing on the boulder next to the lizardman and attacking downwards.

Construct #2 Slam atk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 (Double #$&*! 4 rds left)

Construct #3 burst of the sand trap it had been hiding it, flying above it before landing next to the lizardman at the edge of the woods.

Construct #3 Slam atk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 (4 rds left)

Little Two and Little Three - attack the first not-Adran-and-not-Elara on that ship. Hero - sending two your way! Connor mentally shouted. The two constructs, clinging to the hull of the ship, leaped over the railing using their wings, their bodies changing to attack.

As Adranal tries to hit the gun with his sunder attempt, the sniper, still bent over the rail with the gun, lashes out with a boot that has a blade sticking out of it!

The blade narrowly misses Adranal's stomach, stopped only by his armor! Adranal's blade crashes down into the railing missing the gun by a few inches, shattering the railing where it hits!

On the ship, the gunner fires the main ballista at Rory!

The lizard seems to have no problems moving while in such a precarious position, Adraniel, as if doing so were natural for it.

the warlord shines as a beacon to his allies on the field of battle, inspiring them to fight with him to their last breath. Through the use of the Golden Lion disciple's superior tactical ability, he is able to direct his allies in combat for maximum effectiveness. STANDARD: Activate Hunting Party. If attack hits Roderick gets an AoO on this guy.

The third surviving green lizardfolk on the beach crashes into the jungle and closes with Alys!

Connor, do you want to move surviving constructs to a different target? THey already missed, but their original target is down, so moving them to the other lizardfolks makes sense.

Elara, do you still want to attack the lizardfolk given how mauled you got, or do you want to withdraw? You wouldn't have moved yet, so you could withdraw from your previous position without provoking AoO
