#1-47: The Darkest Vengeance [Tier 1-2] - GM Rutseg (Inactive)

Game Master Balacertar

Roll20 Campaign
How to create your PFS character for PbP

Taking profit of extra holidays time, I would like to GM the Scenario #1-47: The Darkest Vengeance.

SCENARIO BACKGROUND
When a newly opened Ustalav Pathfinder Lodge goes silent, it's up to you to investigate and report back to the Society as to the source of the disappearance. The mystery deepens when you arrive and find the house silent but infiltrated by an old threat now in control of one of Ustalav's most powerful artifacts.

RECRUITING RULES
System: Pathfinder Society sanctioned play
Player Count: 4-5
Style of Play: Fast pace with RP opportunities
Allowed Content: Anything legal for PFS play (but I give priority to Core)
Tier: 1-2 or 4-5, will depend on applications
Recruitment policy: Players will be recruited under the following criteria
1) Balanced party
2) Priority to Core and APG races and classes
3) Availability and timezone
Initiative policy: Characters losing initiative to the enemy must wait, for the rest, first arrives, first plays
Inaction policy: Control can be taken by the GM if required to maintain the pace if there is no single post in 1 day
Encounter management: Map movement in Roll20. I am subscriber, thus you will have access to Tablet Access and Dynamic lighting.
Dice policy: Players through built-in dice; GM may roll AoO, initiative and other reactive rolls
Roleplaying policy: At least minimal roleplaying is expected (try to avoid lengthy passages not directly related with the scenario action though).
Kick off date: In about 2 days

Refer Character you are presenting for recruitment along with this info:
- expected posting times and GMT
- in case you are interested to play Scenarios by PbP in Spanish express the desire please
Please no RP in the recruitment post.
Remember you cannot be playing two PFS Scenarios with the same character at the same time.

About GM Rutseg:
- I've been DMing for a couple of years in real life
- I've been collaborating in fantasy MUD coding for 10 years
- I'm new to PbP Game Mastering

As you see, I am quite new on this, thus, do not hesitate to provide feedback about how to better manage things or personal tastes. Also, though fluent, I am not native speaker, thus, be lenient with grammar, spelling and weird constructions you will find in my posts ;-)

I am interested. I have a Gnome Wizard (Illusionist) 1 and Human Druid (Menhir Savant) 1 available, but no tier 4-5 characters:

Gnome Wizard

Human Druid

My Timezone is GMT+8, can post multiple times/day.

Liberty's Edge

I would like to apply with either (in order of my preference):

Eolowyn: Elven ranger 4 (archer)
Ketill: Tiefling alchemist 2
Faeranduil: Elven wizard 2 (evoker)

I need to do a major update on Ketill's profile (did a lvl 1 rebuild to Tiefling on him because he had a chronicle before 15/8), the others are good to go.

I post at least once a day during weekdays and my timezone is CET. I do post in weekends, however my posting frequency is lower then.

Faeranduil is scheduled to take part in online gameday 3, however I assume this scenario to be finished by then.

I'd love to play.

I can post almost every day. My timezone is GMT+1. Spanish is my native language, so I could play with no problem :-)

Available Characters:
Seinto: Aasimar Cleric 3
Espada: Human Magus (Kensai) 1
Sehrli: Aasimar (Emberkin) Arcanist 1
Waman: Human Rogue (Spy) 1

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path Subscriber

Summoner (gnome mounted rider) Just need to get the character a PFS number ... level 1 obviously. In the UK, so posting times tend to be early or late UK time, currently GMT+1 (I think, well its BST)

Liberty's Edge

I had no luck with Frostfur Captives, so I will try it here :)

I have two characters available:
Piety Angelbane: Tiefling Witch 1
Bolger Greenbottle: Halfling Rogue 1

Timezone: GMT+2
I post several times each day.
I don't speak spanish.

These seems like a team guys, proceed to the discussion to check-in.
The recruitment will remain open as a reserve for casualties. Please take into account if you don't check-in in 24h I might decide to accept others in your place.

These are the characters I chose:
Tranquilo: Either character is ok, please decide between you an Eolowyn to bring a wizard
Eolowyn: Either level 2 character is ok, please decide between you an Tranquilo to bring a wizard
Marko_d3: Please proceed with your level 3 cleric
Deevor: Ok
Baerlie: Please proceed with the rogue (Sorry about the Frostfurs, but I plan to reply that Scenario once completed so hope you can jump in that time :))

I will still accept a sixth player as long as it is a melee core level 2-3.

Liberty's Edge

Tranquilo, my preference is to bring my alchemist, but I leave the decision to you.

I find subtier 1-2 not challenging enough for a level 3, specially for early scenarios. Could it be possible to play with another character?

Grand Lodge

Sure, I'll take the Rogue :)

Baerlie's rogue here, and no Need for sorry! Your game, your decision :)

Marko, for this scenario I would really feel much confortable if you can go in with the level 3 cleric. Provided some weird mechanics of the scenario and the amount of level 1s it will really make a difference. Of course its your decision in the end, but I really want at least a level 2 divine in the party.

No problem, I'll run the Wizard.

Maybe we can reach a compromise :-)

I just finished GMing "The Confirmation". I can assign the chronicle sheet to a new cleric and buy him a wand of CLW with prestige points.

Do you think that would be enough for the scenario?

That will be just enough for most scenarios indeed, but I think that would be too much more risk than the one I want to manage here. Is your concern about the rewards you will get in the end?

As for the challenge, you will have a great one moving the whole party through it ;-)

I'd lie if I'd say that I don't care about the rewards, but that's not my main concern. In my (little) experience, playing a subtier 2 with a 3+ level character makes it too easy to be fun.

But OK, I'm gonna trust you. If your impression is that this scenario is too risky to be played only by levels 1-2, I suppose it can be challenging enough.

So, ready to play :-)

Grand Lodge

I read the reviews of this scenario (without spoilers) and several people are writing that it's hard to play :/ Bolger is already nervous.

Scarab Sages

Can't tell if the table is full yet; however, I have a Dwarf Inquisitor (2)/Cleric (1) that I would be interested in playing.

I am GMT+4 (EDT) East Coast US
I can post about 2-4/day

Can't play with Spanish

TIA

Hi Dvalin! Party is full now, but I would consider a melee as a sixth member.

Grand Lodge

What about this fellow, he'd love to go. Level 3 Dwarven Shielded fighter.

Cannot post in Spanish, but am in US Central Time (Nashville TN) and have lots of PbP experience. I am a reliable poster, most of my posts will be in the evening after 8PM.

I am new to pbp but I have been playing D&D since it was D&D and know pathfinder. I love to play fighters I have a one at first level but can easily make him level 2 or 3 . Just let me know.

Scarab Sages

Thanks for the reply ... unfortunately I am just starting PFS (only 7 games so far) and this is my only PC that is not at 0 XP.

Kaos42, that sounds as not PFS legal. New characters start at level 1.
