Also...I assume Playtest for the 6 new classes? any rough idea if an when?

Silver Crusade

I'd guess around October to January timeframe for the playtest. Depending on how early they want to start on it.

There WILL be a play test. Late this year(?)

Well, the Advanced Class Guide doesn't have much to do with the Iron Gods AP either, does it?

True...but a hardcover technology book would be way more controversial and risky, which is what would have fit with Numeria stuff. and Mythic came out with a Mythic AP, and Bestiary 3/Ultimate Combat had a lot of stuff for Jade Regent.

Huh, wasn't expecting Arcadia to be Aztec/South American. We seriously need a Golarion World Guide. Give us more info on Sarusan!

New classes sell well. Very well. Extremely well. And Advanced Class Guide went up against D&D 5th Ed for GenCon releases.

Advanced Class Guide was extremely strategic as a release.

Do want, I curious what mechanics they will use to make it feel "psychic".

Well...Occult Adventures won't be using the power point system of Psionics. SOOOO...yeah.

Ultimate Psionics is awesome, but some GMs probably will be even more reluctant to use Dreamscarred Press in Golarion games when this book comes out.

Sign of a poor GM or at least one that makes decisions without reading things.

It was great meeting you too, Brandon! :)

Also, that Sarenite priest cosplayer is awesome

Bwuh? Who says that? Golarion is already a silly mashup of genres!

We got greek, roman, far east, indian, hindu, lovecraftian, aliens, robots, modern junk, and lord knows theres more.

At least one person says so in every thread psions are mentioned in the past two months.

Did they say what the 6 new psychic classes are going to be called?

I hope the Innersea race book will have a lot of info on races like the Lashunta, Android, etc. If it focuses mostly on the core then I might just skip that one.

Golarion is: "One campaign to rule them all and in the darkness bind them."

If you can think of it as a scifi/fantasy/historical/pulp trope, then it exists somewhere in Golarion, its solar system, or planar system. They even randomly decided to go kill an Earth historical figure in an AP.

I've never read a better comparison that describes it so well.

Have they announced what the fall book is going to be? I expect Bestiary 5 which will include a lot of Psychic Magic monsters.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

I'm honestly kind of dreading psychic magic, if only because I fear it's going to be akin to divine magic: A different power source for the exact same mechanics.

They don't announce the fall hardcover until around April, give or take a month, of the same year of release.

Lashunta hardly qualify as an "Inner Sea Race".

The 4th book probably won't be announced until sometime next spring. Bestiary 4 and Monster Codex were not announced at Paizocon/Gencon

Thanks for posting all that Mikaze! For those of us not able to make the journey this year, its great to get the play-by-play from the seminar.

Thanks Mikaze for being our life line to Gencon.

Is the Inner Sea races going to be a hardcover?

Dark Archive

I'm very pleased to hear that psychic magic is finally getting official support. It's been the biggest remaining hole in the Paizo rules set / the main limiting factor preventing the detail of certain parts of the campaign setting. I look forward to the possibility of Vudra/Casmaron/Castrovel stuff finally happening.

Lashunat can be found in and/or around Kyonin;)

There is one in Numeria, might be more in stasis in one of ruins of the crashed ship.

So, if my calculations are correct, Hell's Rebels will be the 'gonzo' AP, following the more 'conservative/traditional' Giant Slayer one. Any ideas/hints as to what gonzo elements will be introduced in H.R.?

I'm loving the gonzo APs, myself…

Actually, they've said that although the generally do do about half traditional, half experimental, it's not actually a strict alternation, and both GS and HR are going traditional given the run of RoW (planet hopping/fairy tale, so experimental) WotR (mythic, so mechanically experimental though the plot was traditional) Mummy's Mask (traditional, but outside medieval fantasy) and Iron Gods (all the crazy) means that the traditional story lovers have been missing out for a while.

Also given the middling chance of the post HR one involving Vuda and psychic magic, worth stocking up before going off piste again.

With the addition of Psychic Magic, my adaptation of Pathfinder rules to 1920's pulp adventures will almost be complete.

They've said for years that any "psionics" they come up with will be slot-driven like magic casting currently is.

I wonder what will set it apart enough to be different?

I can't speak to any examples, but James has said that they all like Vancian magic at Paizo, so if they did psionics, it'd probably be some form of that, with psychic flavored abilities, rather than power points. Since they mentioned Dreamscarred Press' take as a great version for fans of the 3.5 version of psionics, it at least seems likely that there won't be powerpoints.

That's fair I guess. I assume they want to bring this to pfs eventually so they wouldn't want people playing the core game to have to learn a completely different magic system, and I can see why they don't want to reinvent the wheel when Dreamscarred already has their pp classes done well.

I am surprised that we will get 6 new classes only a year after getting 10 new classes but I am fine with that:)

For those that missed the thread (just like I missed this one), the guys from KnowDirection posted some of their notes about this seminar here

It goes into a little bit more detail about Occult Adventures, Inner Sea Races, and Hell's Rebels.

Edit: From the description of OA, it seems like it could certainly be used for that Vudran AP some of us have been clamoring for, but it might also be able to be used for something a little more pulpy, like perhaps a campaign featuring the fey and First World (thinking in terms of Victorian-era Spiritualism/Occultism).
