Here we see the fine art of negotiation in action.
The cellar's nice and all, but Pett's clothes are disturbing me. Almost as if they were .... Watching.
Every time he sends me down to the cellar for a bottle of claret, I wind up publishing more Pett. You'd think I would learn.

The final total is $126,031 due to a surge of last minute backers and one very monetarily (and now magically) mighty Master of Spell and Seal at the topmost tier. All announced stretch goals related to the Deep Magic book were met. The only goal missed was for the World Serpent AP, but that's happening anyway, just not accelerated by Deep Magic.

There is LOTS of very cool stuff going on 'behind the scenes' right now :) Most of the art is in and the few remaining pieces are due in soon ... and there is a LOT of really awesome, top quality art for this book! I can't tell you how many times I've thought 'Ooh, I can't wait for people to see this one!' when a new illustration comes in!
Bottom line - I think this is going to be a visually stunning book!

I'm happy to say that the weekly updates have been happening, even during Gen Con. They just are happening over on the Deep Magic site for the backers. It seems like a more natural fit for a people most invested in the project (pun totally intended).
Which is not to say that I could not provide some level of monthly or bi-weekly updates here as well, or on the Kobold Press blog.
Hm. Maybe a blog post about the new druid stuff. Or the new antipaladin stuff. Or the new aboleth magic, blood magic, and clockwork magic, just to cover A, B, and C.
It's coming together really, really well.

If you are a backer, the Kickstarter project sends emails to everywhere when a new update goes up. It's possible to opt out of all those notifications, of course, which sometimes makes sense if you are backing a lot of projects.
Easiest thing to do, though, is just to go to the Deep Magic Kickstarter page and click on "Updates". That gets you to this Deep Magic Updates page. Some updates are public, some are backer-only. You should see them all.
Let me know if that doesn't work for any reason!

Very nice to see love for the White Necromancer! There will indeed be a New Paths: The Expanded White Necromancer! It's not out yet, but it's been written, edited and, if I'm not mistaken, is in the final development phase. If I had to guess, I'd say it should be out in a month or two :)
Just as a tease (I seem to be doing that a lot in this thread :) The Expanded White Necromancer has additional spells and a couple archetypes which I'm very happy with. One in particular I think is pretty interesting ...
** spoiler omitted **
OK, back on topic!
Much requested, add-ons are now LIVE on the Kickstarter!
Just a quick heads up that the The White Necromancer will be released very soon:)

There's also a ton going on with the editing/development side, too. We're in the process of handing over text for layout, for example. When all is said and done, I think the level of awesome content on all fronts is going to be astounding!

Indeed. Also, some small updates:
* About half the book is through development and editing. We're cutting a few items of duplication and continuing to focus on the big New Spells chapter, but bloodlines, new magic options, archetypes, and other items are all in layout.
* Super Genius Owen delivered some cool expansion to the blood magic section
* Looks like we'll have an announcement on the introduction soon
* Collecting backer names has gotten us about half the names so far. Reminder will go out to backers this week.
I'd say progress is good, and I'll be sharing some sample pages with backers before Halloween.

Yep, posted the interview with Guido Kuip and the druid spell list to the Kobold blog in the last week or two.
Layout looking pretty good, making decisions about paper and the runebound edition silver foil.
I'd say we're in excellent shape, and should have an update on the print book, the Kobold Guide, and the Hero Lab version before the end of the year.

Really nice review of Deep Magic from Neuroglyph over at at ENWorld!
The production quality of DEEP MAGIC is exceptional, with top-notch writing from veteran authors and game designers, coupled with a graphical layout that is easy-to-read and stunning to behold. It's clear that the publishers set out to give the reader a luxe experience for their patronage when purchasing the hardbound version of this book.
DEEP MAGIC is one of those supplements that comes along that makes a gamer want to run amok, gathering books and dice to start rolling up a brand new character! And for players who have become jaded with running a spellcaster in too many Pathfinder campaigns, this book is guaranteed to pique the interest those gamers who love a character slinging spells around.

Despite the somewhat breathless headline on this, I'm actually really pleased that the book really clicked for this reviewer.
It's far and away the most ambitious thing the kobold crew has done, and I'm proud of the results. It really is meant to kickstart jaded or burnt-out gamers with a big dose of wondrous and shiny and new.
Not to mention, the Hero Lab files will be ready in 30 days, and the iOS reference seems well-received as well.
