Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

hehe

super 3+me:
well, im the best I know, but a guy like me doesnt know many people. Lady and I can work together to find almost anyone.. except these bandits. Harder to track than a tiger in the river. Thats how I knew you werent bandits.

dirk grins widely. You really ought to think about covering your tracks... if you dont want to be found. dirk chuckles and rubs behind Lady's large ears.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Super 3 +1:
Well we are city girls so not really into the whole habit of thinking about tracks etc. Cause on pavement you usually can't follow muddy foot print of broken twig or camp fires and dejection's. she replied smiling

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

super 3+me:
Dirk looks serious for a moment.
well, you're out in my turf now. And out here you adapt or you die. You look like fighters, but a tussle isnt all that can get you killed out here. But... I can help you there.

What was this thing that intrigued you? Might help with the tracking. And I was serious about if you know what they smell like. If you have ANYTHING that carries their scent, Lady can find them.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Super duper 3 + Him:
i don't so you will have to rely on normal tracks and boot prints left on the ground. Now lets go we have lots of grounds to cover today she says ignoring his other comments

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

super 3+duper me:
Dirk looks annoyed for a moment, but quickly switches back to his happy-go-lucky attitude, and gives Esther an intentionally sloppy salute.
YES SIR! but first, Lady doesnt work with anyone she hasn't shaken hands with.

Lady will make a big show of walking up to everyone in turn, sniffing them, then giving them each a big, sloppy lick. she then returns to dirk, tail wagging as though she enjoyed what she just did.

there! now everyones happy. you guys go ahead and finish up breaking camp, Lady and i will move on ahead to see what we can find, letting you talk about how obviously crazy i am and how its foolish to trust me. Dirk grins, showing a mostly full set of pearly white teeth.

GM:
When dirk gets a good ways away, he whispers in Ladys ear.
Dont forget those scents girl. they seem alright, but we cant trust them with our lives yet.

after that, theyll look for tracks.

Dirk's survival: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Lady's assist: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Onward back to the pond DM :)

Shadow Lodge

I have the day off tomorrow (I think), and should be able to post an update then.

Shadow Lodge

Ok. Life has gotten away from me the last week or so. Is everyone still here?

yes

Male Elf Wizard 20

Aye.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

yup

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

Here!

Shadow Lodge

And Paizo ate my post...

I have it copied at home. I'll post it around 6pm pst.

Shadow Lodge

Victor:

You and you men ride to the spot where the military diviners where last able to locate the renegade Mortimer. On arrival, it takes your party just under an hour to pick up the wizard's trail: it heads deeper into the hills where the only paths are little more than game trails.

After following for close on half a day, a scout returns with report of sentries in the trees. "I think it were them bandits, sir. They'd hear our horses a long way off, just so'n you know."

What do you do?

Dirk and Los Tres Amigos:

Esther describes the pond where the red shirts were spotted and Dirk is able to lead them to it inside two hours. Once there, it takes mere minutes before Dirk is able pick up the mercenaries' trail.

The sun covers most of the sky as you follow the prints left by the few hired swords. A handful of hours before dark, Dirk signals the party to stop and indicates the increased traffic in the area.

Dirk, I need survival to see how many bandits you can estimate reside here. What is the plan now?

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

DM + D + Under power Trio:
overall game plan is to do surveillance in order to find out of these are the droids we are looking for. Then depending we will probably have to call in the Air strike...

"Best that we dismount then and move in on foot. Jenkins (there's always a Jenkins), you stay here and guard the horses. The rest of you form a skirmish line and we'll move in. Keep the noise down, hand signals only as we move in. Keep in sight of your two flankers so we can communicate. Remember this is a dangerous mage by all accounts, so don't engage until I do, or you are attacked. "

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

3+me:
Survival: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Lady's Assist: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

also, if I can glean heights, weights, age of tracks, types of shoes, anything else, I will try.

Shadow Lodge

Dirk, you estimate some 16-20 feet have been through the area over the last fortnight. All the tracks tell of thick soldier's boots, the some of the freshest tracks are from horses: a first this ground has seen you think...

Victor's men start to advance and make it a few dozen feet before the spot a large, bearded man and a wolf snooping through the tracks in the dirt; two women and another, slightly smaller man, stand to one side.

They are heavily armed and do not quite have the look of soldier to them...

Victor will send hand signals to his flankers:
Halt in place.
Keep hidden and quiet.
Relay orders.
Cover me.

And then he will proceed on alone to see who these people are.

He will walk up with his hands empty.

"Greetings traveler, I'm with the army of Amerys, and I'm looking for a fugitive. Now you folks look like you've been around some, so you might have heard of him. Mortimer Talinth. He's wanted for some fairly unsavory acts. If you could offer me any information which might lead to his apprehension it would be appreciated. "

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

Dirk will approach casually, but will stop a good distance away.

well hi! Name's Dirk, forward scout for Amerys, and these fine people and I have been trackin some bandits in these hills. Now, I aint personally heard of this...Mortimer, you say? But I do know that im pretty hot on their trail here. From the looks of these tracks, a buncha horses trampled through this area not too long ago. And they trampled riiiiight where you came from.

You see, Mr... Armor? Can I call you that? I dont mean no offense, but Im gonna need some proof of what you say bein true. Dont wanna make nice and be filled fulla arrows later.

Dirk will peer around the area Victor came from.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Ladys perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

if those rolls were good enough:
im also gonna need those men to come on out.

Shadow Lodge

Dirk doesn't detect any presence, but Lady crouches slightly, her hackles rise, and she sniffs meaningfully.

Male Elf Wizard 20

DM:
Anything going on in the camp with Mortimer?

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

you hidin somethin from me, Mr. Armor? Or someone? M'lady here, she's sniffed out something...sinister.

Dirk will get into a more battle ready stance, ready to dodge any attacks, but not drawing his weapon. Also at ladys direction, will he be able to look again? If so,
perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15

ugh, not rolling well.

Shadow Lodge

Mortimer:

Business as usual atm: People fixing food, tending weapons, etc. Mortimer wouldn't know about this, but the sentries have been called for a meeting. They're getting reamed for not noticing you. :)

Male Elf Wizard 20

DM:
Lawl. Not their fault, invisibility is OP. Mortimer will catch up on his reading and get familiar with the room, basically being a pretty good prisoner until he is called to do something.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Esther will tense up a bit and will try to see if the man is not alone or if this is an ambush. But for now she is more than happy to let Dirk do all the talking

Shadow Lodge

FYI, I am still here. Just giving Victor some time before I NPC.

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

I dont mind waiting. Getting npc'd on your introduction couldnt be fun :(

Shadow Lodge

I feel the same way :)

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

As long as DM doesn't try to DPS us i am fine :)

Shadow Lodge

Oh I am going to try. Soon. :)

Mortimer:

You also note that while "bandits" usually implies sneaky, rougue-y types, these gathered seem much more akin to professional soldiers...

Shadow Lodge

Did we lose Victor then?

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

either that, or he forgot. Try PM? To be fair, he hasnt been called on to do much yet, and there was that time you were busy. Combine those, and Im betting its slipped his mind.. Im lucky this is my only campaign online, im really forgetful, so id prolly forget to check them all.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

hopefully he is still around... (i know i am)

Sorry, my games listing page didn't update me that there were messages in gameplay.

"Well if you've not seen him, then I will be on my way. I don't believe I have to justify myself to you. Good luck finding the bandits. "

He will make sure he gets a look at everyone present and that they don't match the appearance of Talinth. Then he will be on his way back to his men, but will be cautious about doing so, keeping glances back in case of furtive moves.

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

Dirk shrugs and watches him go, eyeing Lady to be sure all of them have left. When hes sure they have, he'll turn to the others.

welp, that was weird. I wonder if hes really here to find that mortimer guy. You guys ever hear of him? I bet he made him up. We should sleep in shifts tonight. This looks like a big traffic area, I could lay some traps..

Dirk grins devilishly.

Shadow Lodge

Suddenly, a horn sounds in the quiet wood and the cries of soldiers and the sounds of battle preparation spring up from a much closer position than one might have liked.

Dirk and Victor spot the man blowing the horn in among the root system of a towering oak tree approximately one hundred feet away

Mortimer:

Whilst lounging in your tent, a horn blows and suddenly the camp is full of noise and movement. Before you've fully registered what's happening, Captain Aventus Gaszeretti bursts into the tent with two men in tow.

"You still want to fight Amerysi traitors?"

"Is that your people? I don't take kindly to ambushes. "

and he will use signals to tell his troops to get in a position for support.

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

wait, im confused, was this after victor left? Dirk wouldnt have said the things he said if victor were still there, fyi.

not mine... and not yours either, what with these men youve brought not attackin me.

Dirk will draw his glaive and get ready to fight, standing shoulder to shoulder with Lady, who senses his readiness for battle, and prepares herself as well, digging her paws into the earth and barking menacingly.

Now I really smell bandits. Hope all that armor's good for somethin, Mr. Armor.

"Hmm, maybe the bandits are more trouble than HQ thought. Guess we better handle them before getting on with the mission. "

and he will draw his scimitar and make ready for battle.

Male Elf Wizard 20

DM:
Mortimer stands quickly, hand clenched tight with a look of fiery determination. "Point me the right direction and don't get in my way."

Mortimer asks what's happening and how the group intends to attack; he basically wants any information on the impending fight that he can get.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Alright here goes Nothing she says casting a Barkskin on herself and moving forward 30 ft pulling out her longbow

Shadow Lodge

AH! Freaking post eating website... I'll try again soon.

Shadow Lodge

Ok. I've contacted the administrators. I've posted twice now and lost them, the last time I posted, I was told I don't have permission to use the commands. I'm confused, but still here.

Male Human Mad Dog Barbarian 8

O.o bizzare..

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)
