Gideon suggests the group look at the room to the south that appears to have a floor plan that is a mirror image of the room with the beacon.

Gideon suggests the group look at the room to the south that appears to have a floor plan that is a mirror image of the room with the beacon.
"Yes, please check that out. I will right...er... somewhere behind you." Rex affirms.

GM Kate |

You check out the opposite room. The original purpose of this chamber is hard to determine, as machinery damaged beyond recognition lines the eastern wall and ungrounded electrical wires sparking with an orange glow swing loose from banks of capacitors to the north and south.
You think it would be possible to use Computers of Engineering in this room to zap anyone not standing on the rubberized purple flooring. This is not useful at the moment, but who knows what the future might bring.
On to the hatches?

![]() |

Is there anything to explore to the west? It looks like there may be some gates or doors. Are the hatches the doors to the six strange spheres we closed?

![]() |

"What do you think, Starfinders?" Rex inquires, pointing down the hallway. "Shall we head, as they say in the dispensery, 'down the hatch'?"

GM Kate |

This is one of those maps that can be viewed different ways. There are thick starship walls, and there are two hatches that are open. I have placed you going through the nearest one.
A massive rectangular pool fills this space. Metal catwalks extend south from two open access hatches, abutting against the far wall, with ladders ascending to other wide walkways 10 feet above. In the center of the chamber, more ladders and catwalks descend to the water’s surface 20 feet below, along with an artificial beach at the base of the dark retaining wall made up of pipes, tubes, filters, and other machinery. A figure lays slumped there, unconscious.
I tried to make all the elevation clear, but please ask if it's confusing!

![]() |

"An unconscious body!" shouts Rex when he spots the floating form. "It is a good thing there is a doctor in the house. It is a better thing that that doctor so happens to be me."
Finishing a gesture with both of his thumbs, Rex turns to the others. "One of you should fetch it!" He glances at Tiny. "Your people are known to be competent swimmers, right?"
Rex makes no effort to approach the water, but instead quietyly explains to whoever may be listening, "I wouldn't want to get my lab coat all wet and it could be rather unsanitary--you know, with a body floating around in it and all. Got to stay as sterile as possible. After all, who knows what potential trauma I may soon be dealing with?"
It would be a real shame if the good doctor were "accidentally" knocked into the water, wouldn't it? ; P

![]() |

Tiny rolls his eyes at the doctor, but does move the ladder down to water level, intending to go retrieve the unconscious figure.

![]() |

Gideon trails behind Tiny to watch for hazards and threats while the big guy focuses on getting to the body.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Something gets in Gideon's eye, forcing him to see with only one eye for a few moments.

GM Kate |

As Tiny starts climbing down the ladder, there is a stirring from below the waves!

The creature is 5 feet below the surface of the water right now. There is a cheat sheet on underwater combat in the slides.

Rex draws a syringe as he approaches Tiny. "Before you swim with whatever is in there, take this.". The doctor injects a biohack stiffening Tiny's fur.
+1 to AC
"Now, go!" he urges. "Bring back the body. And possibly dinner."

![]() |

Tiny drops the last few feet to the catwalk and draws his doshko as he advances toward the stirring in the water.
Hoping that with a climb speed I can count finishing my descent and stepping forward a few squares as a combined movement. In that case, Tiny readies an action to attack if the thing surfaces. If not, then one move action to climb and another to move along the catwalk while drawing his doshko.
Piercing: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
ACs with biohack: EAC 17, KAC 19

Gideon draws his pistol as he moves to the west end of the catwalk. He fires down at the creature in the water.
Skipshot pistol: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 (range 60 ft, -1/range inc.)
Damage, vs KAC, P: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Splash.

GM Kate |

Everyone prepares for the creature, but you are all a little surprised at what it does. Tiny has the best view as it starts to spin its long limbs around itself very quickly, gaining momentum as it spins more and more rapidly about its axis, and then flies out of the water! It reaches the catwalk, still spinning in a whirlwind.
Tiny gets the AoO, though it has concealment due to the whirlwind.
concealment roll, 20 or below misses: 1d100 ⇒ 3
Tiny's doshko moves with force through the target, but the whirlwind throughs off Tiny's aim.
Initiative!
Tiny

Gideon
Crabby, concealment 1 more round
Everybody up!

![]() |

Tiny growls as his readied attack misses, wheeling around and charging back to the base of the ladder before swinging his doshko at the crab at the top of the ladder. I think as a large creature I can attack the creature 10 feet up, potentially with some cover from the railing, etc.
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 30
Doshko: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Piercing: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

![]() |

Gideon steps away from the crab-thing, giving room for Calisst to join in the fun. He draws his survival knife in case he has to fight it close up and personal. BAB of 0, so no drawing weapon as part of the move action, alas.

![]() |

Rex ponders the situation in his head. If only I could send some sort of electrical shock through the water, that would likely put an end to this crustacean.
If only I could have gotten ahold of something like a cattle prod.
As he laments, Rex tries to ascertain the crab's capabilities.
Life Science to ID: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
"Hit it!" The doctor diagnoses. Realizing that a tough, shell exoskeleton would likely be difficult to pierce, Rex directs a biohack to his ursine ally.
Tiny gains a +10-foot enhancement bonus to speed, which I believe would enhance his swim speed by 5-feet.
In the event that a ranged attack is required to hit Tiny: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Calisst swings his whip. 2 strong ondulations can be seen moving on the crab.

**Huh...Feel the hurt!** he shouts after searching to say something.
crit: additional damage and roll dc 13 for save or being sicken.: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 3) + 3 = 7
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 46

GM Kate |

Tiny just barely misses while Calisst gets one massive hit. Rex boosts Tiny's speed while Gideon moves out of the way!
Rex recognizes a vurchyra! He knows that electrical shock would indeed be powerful, as these creatures are vulnerable to electricity. He also knows the hard shell means that they cannot be flanked.
Fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 It shakes off feeling sick.
The vurchyra lashes out once at Calisst and once at Tiny. Its limbs stop spinning around.

Tiny and Rex both hit! The creature is definitely leaking some kind of fluid now.
It chases after Rex!

Skipshot pistol, vs KAC, Full attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 2 - 4 = 14
Damage P: 1d4 ⇒ 4

GM Kate |

Rex struggles to get out of the claw and Calisst and Gideon find their attacks pinging off the vurchyra's hard shell. Luckily, Tiny gets his doshko aimed perfectly where two parts of the shell meet.
Gravely injured, the vurchyra knows that it's in a fight it can't win. It releases Rex, crawls to the edge, and dives into the water.
Di anyone want to get a parting shot or AoO, or are you cool letting it go?
The figure is still unmoving on the artificial beach.

![]() |

Tiny breathes a sigh of relief as the creature retreats, slumping against the wall for a moment as the adrenaline wears off and the pain of his wounds catches up with him. Tiny will just watch it retreat.

![]() |

Gideon figures there are probably more crab-creatures where that one came from, so better to let it go. Instead, he moves to examine the figure on the catwalk.

![]() |

Believing himself to be the "hero" of his own story and not wanting to appear "weak", Rex takes a shot at the retreating creature, supposing that he might be able to bring out a claw at the next press junket in order to sell a few more copies of his book.
Ranged (tactical needler pistol): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage (P): 1d4 ⇒ 2
He makes a mental note to ask his publisher's agent for an advancement for more needler darts.

GM Kate |

Gideon finds a human woman meeting Elymilra's description. She is unconscious, but alive.

![]() |

"Is there a doctor in the house?" Gideon calls out. Then he moves to make room for others to help give her medical attention.

GM Kate |

After you attend to her immediate medical needs, she wakes up!
"Hello, who are you? I'm Elymilra."
She seems to read something in her head, her lips moving as her eyes scan back and forth.
"Ah! My exo-cortex activated my beacon when I went down. Some big crab thing got me from behind. Is that what alerted you I was here? I'm trying to get fresh water set up for Fullbridge and the Spike. I only need," she reviews something in her head again, "ten more minutes to finish the job."

GM Kate |

"Sure, if you're handy with a wrench! Otherwise, it would be great if you just keep an eye out for any more big crab things."
She pauses for a moment. "It's much quieter than before. Did those big blast doors close?"

![]() |

Gideon cracks his knuckles as she mentioned the blast doors. "That was I. I'll help if you need a third hand."

GM Kate |

"That's impressive! Well, I guess I learned my lesson about listening to music on my headphones while working by myself. At least I've got you all now!"
With your assistance, she completes her task.
Laughter and the sound of children at play is audible as you approach Fullbridge. The water system is working perfectly, and the whole community has come to collect potable water and enjoy watching their children frolic around the now-operating fountain.
Elymilra and Vic greet each other with a hug and a long moment with their
foreheads held to each other, while others welcome you as honorary members of the community.
During the later celebration, Vic shows you a petition she’s been preparing for the Syndicsguild seeking official recognition for Fullbridge, noting how their community can help funnel refugees away from overcrowded areas of Absalom Station and also be a benefit to other districts, too. She asks if you would like to add your names to the petition as Starfinder agents.
The hexoglin you brought back earlier seems to quickly become a happy part of the community.
You get a message a few weeks later that she has given birth to a clutch of a dozen healthy pups! The citizens adore the little ones and their mother—and their ability to grant the settlement safer access to power. Out of thanks for your help, they invite you to name one of the pups!
And that pup might even imprint on you! The chronicle has a boon for a hexoglin pup!

Tiny gladly signs the petition, and just as gladly spends some time rolling around on the ground with the puppies.

![]() |

Gideon signs the petition as well. He documents what he can of the social life of the community.

"Well, I guess I learned my lesson about listening to music on my headphones while working by myself. At least I've got you all now!"
"Yes, it is a miracle that you are alive, but then working wonders is what I do." declares Rex.
She asks if you would like to add your names to the petition as Starfinder agents.
Rex barely listens as the request is made. When he notices the pad and electro-pen in her hand, he scoops them both up quickly. "Your looking for an autograph? Well, it is about time somebody asked." he suggests as he writes his name with flourish. "Anything for a fan. Now, who did you want me to make that out to?"
Out of thanks for your help, they invite you to name one of the pups!
Rex barely reads over the invitation, before concluding. "They want to name a town mascot after me? Well, then, 'Li'l Rex' it is! Anything for a fan."

![]() |
Calisst smiles a little when he sees the conclusion.
Sadly, he won't stay here for long as his hands already are becoming transparent. The sign of a another shift.
Already Time to go? Sigh. I hope to find a way to stop this.
The shifter waves his hands around, taking a piece of this reality into the infinity lash.
He phases out, wondering which new reality he will visit.
He just has enough time to use his psychic powers to sign up the petition.
