As an aside: you can normally take 20 on search checks, but not for traps, since failing that search carries a penalty for failure in the form of a triggered trap.
At the two that threw it was the end of round one, massive penalties for the Gnolls at 60 ft away, end of round two they will be within melee range of the party. This two that threw the javelins were dumb enough to waste some of their ranged weapons, since they only say Piter as a target for standing up. The two were in the lead, now they are lagging behind, at round 1 these two gnolls were 70 ft away at the end of round 2 three gnolls will be in melee striking range (double move) where as the two that three the javelins will be arriving until the end of Round 3
To Tentacled One: For Cakkarak you have a + 3 to your Strength, instead of the 16 you normally have, for the next 40 minutes, you should have a 19 STR. Unless your Strength was a 13 before hand. I don't want to rob you of your to hit and damage, on the gnolls, also you are flanking with Kur'Plugh:

Kur'Plugh says a few words then the Gnoll on Cakkarak bursts into flames, Kur'Plugh also takes a swing on the same Gnoll that Cakkarak hit. Cakkarak is now flanking with Kur'Plugh,
Yes your harm touch did hit, it had taken a total of 17 points of damage last round, then on this round it took another 9 from harm touch for a total of 26 damage.
I have to admit that this is the funniest thing I have seen in awhile...
Player: "Okay we beat Swenj so now we loot"
DM: <There are other more pressing things>
Player: "Yeah got that, but we're looting right?"
DM: <There are other more pressing things>
Player: "Hmm but I can probably just grab a few things..."
DM: <There are other more pressing things>
(repeat x half the posts of the last week lol)
It apparently touches players in the no no place when one breaks the social convention/contract of D&D where you fight then loot your foes in every scenario.

Yes Everyone should be level 4 and rested enough to gain the effects of being level 4.
For the crit, every now and then, I will not roll to confirm a crit, either I missed the deadline, or I was in a hurry. Think of it as the DM wanting your pain to linger on, rather then letting you get slaughtered too quickly :)

I apologize for my spotty posting, sometimes a lot, sometimes nothing. I'm flying back home across the country on Saturday, and should hopefully be more consistent after that.
But hey, I'm an uncle! My sister's baby is healthy, calm, and strong. Can't hope for much better than that. :)

A note written in goblin, seeming to detail a romantic liaison between two gnolls.
A map of where the cave that you just left, it seems to be a hunting map of some kind of the surrounding area.
Okay, I'll try to post today, but It might not be until later tonight. I've got to work at my other job tonight, it should be a very long post in the evil game.
I'm assuming that the outpost doesn't give peridots as change, so I only split the 19 that Zaru had. However, I'm sure that they could do more of the smaller denominations, if you'd rather break some plat. (I'm also assuming that we ate his trail rations, and threw away the sling made out of a sentient goblin's skin.)
Zaruksis's gear split:
162.5 gp - spiked chain
157.5 gp - longsword (masterwork)
4 gp - light flail
125 gp - chain shirt (masterwork)
82.5 gp - buckler (masterwork)
4 gp - winter clothing
5 gp - tent
0.25 gp - blanket
0.5 gp - belt pouch
0.5 gp - flint & steel
6 gp - bull's-eye lantern
5 gp - 50' silk rope
consumed - 2 days trail rations
0.01 gp - 2 torches
0.01 gp - whetstone
worthless/obscene - goblinskin sling
total: 552.77 gp
26 pp, 21 gp, 21 sp, 21 cp = 283.31 gp
19 peridots (worth 100 gp each) = 1900 gp
total = 2736 gp + 8 cp
/5 = 547.2 gp each (and 2 cp each for everyone but Gwendalyn)
Gwendalyn:
547.20 gp
- 162.5 gp spiked chain
- 0.5 gp belt pouch
= 384.2 gp
= 3 peridots, 8 pp, 4 gp, 2 sp
Kwen:
547.22 gp
- 125 gp chain shirt (masterwork)
= 422.22 gp
= 4 peridots, 2 pp, 2 gp, 2 sp, 2 cp

Danke for doing the work of splitting it.

@Xenh: What recipes does Gwendalyn know for Alchemy and Tailoring? Or did you toss out that part of it? I forget.
Quick Tradeskill Play:
- Each attempt costs half the market cost.
- May increase a tradeskill's ranks up to level +10
- May not take 10 or 20 on a tradeskill roll
- If you have the ranks in a tradeskill, then you know the recipes for it
- A failed attempt losses all components
