For the earthbreaker I was using the stats for a greatclub and just giving it a neater feel.

It would be a small-sized weapon in a halfling's hands (otherwise he couldn't use it two-handed), so it's normal D12 damage is D8 in Gramorn's hands.

You are right, but they way they define weapon sizes is a bit confusing...

Unlike in pathfinder (but the same as D&D 3.5 I think), weapon size is independent of character size in this sense. A medium character uses one size smaller weapons (small) as light weapons, same size as one-handed, and larger size (large) as two handed. Similarly, a small character uses a small weapon as one-handed and a medium weapon as two-handed.

So cool, thanks for the knowledge.

Can a small character use a medium-sized two-handed weapon?

I was under the impression that a small character could use a medium-sized one-handed weapon in their two small hands only.

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

I believe the intent is that both of those are true. A medium sized one-handed weapon can be used by small. A two-handed weapon for use by a medium sized person is defined as large, so a small character can't use it.

Look on page 149 of PHB for the text.

Also, notice in the weapon chart, a spear and a greatclub are listed as large weapons (at least, ones for medium sized creatures). Smaller versions of those weapons bring down their size L->M, M->S, S->T.

Interesting, Daggers are considered Tiny. So a small character can use a "normal" Tiny dagger as a light weapon, they don't need a smaller version of it.

Yeah the tiny dagger reagent for your pet spells are regular daggers.

Sadly no, I have an EyeFown.

I must admit that the biggest/most common/loudest complaint I have gotten in leaving Google Groups, was the loss of the posts landing in e-mail inboxes and ability to post straight from e-mail (tis how we lost Joe, a player that I've played off an on with for a couple-few years).

If we could fix that...wheee!

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

Ksenya:
- Damage is 1d6 -2 with your staff.
- Quarterstaff is large, requiring two hands to use.
- I didn't know there was an Elder Erudian!
- You didn't put the levels of your spells there, so I can't calculate their cost without looking them all up. I'm not going to do that.
- Why the +6 on channeling? Are all your spells Evocation?

Fixed.

He will never wield it, unless he is cracking open walnuts (might need a critical strike to do so with his low STR score) or something in that spectrum, but it is good to be accurate.

Revery wrote:

Typo. Fixed.

Revery wrote:

Language skill (page 117): they call it "Old Erudian" though, which is why you might have missed it.

EverQuest is weird and the language skill offers ranks in Lizardman and Teir'dal. The racial section provides skills in Iksar and Dark Speech (one is left to deduce that they mean the same thing). Such is life for a game that never made it big enough to be revised to fix all the little omissions and mistakes.

Revery wrote:

I mention it in my equipment section: "Spellbook (all spells to level 6, plus 1x 7 cost 43,850gp)"

Vendor-bought spell costs: Spell Level x Spell Level x25gp
Recording into spellbook: 100gp per spell level

Total Cost to Purchase a Single Spell (per level) x # of spells purchased = total:
1st Level - 125gp x 6 = 750gp
2nd Level - 300gp x 8 = 2400gp
3rd Level - 525gp x 8 = 4200gp
4th Level - 800gp x 9 = 7200gp
5th Level - 1125gp x 11 = 12375gp
6th Level - 1500gp x 10 = 15000gp
7th Level - 1925gp x 1 = 1925gp

Total: 43,850gp

    SHEET

In the evil game, the tome has 5 Cleric spells....do I know which ones?

    Halfling Paladin of Quellious

He does, I just realized I screwed up the spell cost so I need to rearrange some gear accordingly.

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

    Kwen
    - Kwen, your gloves (enh) and leggings (aug) give different bonus types, so they should stack. This includes str +3 (already there), dex +4 and con +2 (and hit points to go along with it).
    - The Dervish ring has Augmentation dex bonus, so does nothing for you..
    - Talisman OF Vhal Sera Int +1, Wis +1, Cha +2. But your ability scores don't show that.
    - You're going to get hungry, as you have no food.

Revery (Erudite Enchanter) in somnis veritas // Kspress (Iksar Monk) Your pain is the breaking of your shell.

    Gramorn:
    - Still no hit points
    - Language Ranks you start with are separate, so they should go in the Misc Mod column.
    - Still no skill ranks.
    - No personality, description, character traits, character flaws etc.

I'm not going through it again until you've fixed what I already asked. It's too much work...

OK, I think Gramorn is actually done. I need to fill in some of the personality and appearance details, but he's done mechanically, I think. I added the Bonus Xenh just posted. He spent some time learning Iksar from the others. I had to rearrange his equipment, screwed up badly on spell costs.

I have his equipment in an excel spreadsheet, where should I post it?

I've got 20 days of rations, okay I'll add the money back from the dervish ring back into my coinage and add a few more poisons or just buy a magic Rapier. I'll fix the stats as well in a second.

    Game master

To answer the questions about the spells, pick up a total of 5 spells from the spell sheet, the max level for cleric is up to third level etc.

Do we have the special inks and materials to write these spells into out spellbooks?

If so, are you wanting us to roll to add them to the book?

No because I love all of you this much I want you to add the spells that are in the spell book to your spell book, so pick your spells :)

You still need to up your temp dex to 27!

male Half Elf Rogue /Markus Vardin Human cleric (Giant Slayer Blackguard Kwenilithmor Eridosan)

Let me Audit my sheet and make sure that is correct... Alright fixed the error, I have a 21 Dex naturally now with the +2 stat that I got from the GM. When I wield the dragoon dagger it makes my Dex go from a 25 to a 26, sorry, just had to make sure that Kwen was legit.

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

Gramorn, language skills are cross class for paladins. Have you put 4 ranks in or 8? Just wondering if you're just learning the language (2 ranks) or have mastered it (4 ranks). You have had more than enough time to master the language at Justis.

    Halfling Paladin of Quellious

Ugh, gotten too used to Pathfinder rules and then languages are their own weird thing in EQ. Spent 4 points for 2 ranks. It's fixed now.

Iksar, or Lizardman in some references, is the default tongue this group uses to speak in front of others and to coordinate tactics. If you have less than 4 ranks then it will require rolls to know what they're wanting.

They're also needing this language, you can tell it's important to them (though you know not why), and you're en route to Kunark (the land of the lizardmen) as we speak.

If you decide to switch your points around to get 4 ranks let me know : )

Angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress

In the future Revery will need to establish tactics specific to ensuring that there remains a space between the group and their foes (forgoing any flanking bonuses), or making sure that he goes first in the round by posting first.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt this time though : )

    Game master

So it has been noticed in the evil group that things are going on the slow end of posting, and I haven't been posting as much as I would like too. I might be calling for a brief Hiatus to the evil group, due to my current schedule of 17 hour days 4x a week. As much as I would hate to call for a brief break again so soon after just getting the evil game back up and running, it might be for the best.
If I do take a break it should only be until September 30th, after that time I will know more if I have to keep working two jobs, my current main job (TCVS) Will be extending my Temp contract past that time, making a job offer to me, or booting me to the curb.
Since I also work a retail job pretty much an hour or so after I get off from my main job, it makes things my posting schedule wonky to say the least. If the hiatus happens I will try to have it start on Monday, as I feel that I would at least like you to get into town and start perhaps purchasing things.
Also I would like to hear more from the evil group, any suggestions as to help improve the flow of the game, and anything that they don't care too much for. I'm still getting used to running an Everquest game, while D and D, Pathfinder, and a few other games have been my bread and butter, I find something enjoyable about EQ, that have added nice flavor.
I do enjoy feedback, and at least one player has PM'd me his concern about my work life effecting my ability to craft elements of my story and writing style.
Let me know if the temp Hiatus would be a good thing for the evil group. Also you have arrived to in a room near Shadow Haven, so we will soon be reaching the point for a brief break.

    SHEET

I'm way too new to have a valid opinion, but I've had fun in the game since I joined. But, if its becoming a burden then yeah take a break.

Twas me that suggested the break, mainly because after a 17 hour day you're obviously slammed. After September 30th you will hopefully have time to craft the game that you wish.

Please leave us in Shadow Haven so we girls can go on a shopping spree and get our hair did.

    Cthulhu-Spawn DM/crazy person

I say take the break. Being all burned out doesn't really help one craft a story.

I will certainly still be around and ready for the game to start up once your ready. A few of mental rest will do ya good anyway. We are a demanding bunch to run a game for :)

Dwhuh! Thanks everyone! I just got home from the main job, running tests on tubes that are running through your Aortic veins, require a lot of things to make sure that they are up to snuff. Blargh, tired to say the least is what I am feeling, tomorrow is a long day for me, both jobs, are on my plate for the day. The good news is that September 30th I will have 12 days off from Lowe's and I expect that I will no longer have the temp job after September 30th.
Since I now work in the R and D department as a tech, I get to have a little bit more freedom. I no longer have to wake up at 4 am to be at work by 5 am, if they give me a job offer I will probably take them up on it, and leave Lowe's, since I can make my work schedule. Any way I'm rambling at the moment.

    Cthulhu-Spawn DM/crazy person

Nalun, you plan on sticking around, correct? Don't want you thinking we are stopping the game or anything like that. Just a short break :)

None that have been revealed to you. This is the first time he's told you his connection to Fironia Vie, the first time it was overheard while he was talking to Xiblin.

He's a male that's doesn't walk around with Thex as a surname (brother to the queen likely), so that doesn't bode well to shine the throne with one's pert robed derriere.
