The ring was made by the same oddball who made the ring that was used for Aananda and Chan's (and more recently Ryleh's) transformations so feel free to add on unintended though usually helpful side effects as desired. ;)

What was that? Throw it into a volcano? I'm no hobbit! XD

Ryleh: "Ryo Isildur Antairus, if you don't use that ring RIGHT NOW.....!!!! ;D

Anywhoo.... :)

Oh gods, I can't watch. Good night everybody (^.^)

Reincarnation it is then! *grabs dice* Come on gnome!

Reincarnate:1d100 ⇒ 17

EDIT: Oops, I guees I should put the "1" in 100. 1d1 turns Tamrin into a bugbear! ;)

EDIT 2: Awww, he's not a gnome... :(

But gnome would have too! Why won't he turn into a frikkin' gnome and be shorter than me already!?

I feel you should know, Tamrin was this close *holds pointer finger and thumb barely apart* to being a bugbear. Something about 1d1 only equaling 1 and the way the Reincarnate chart was set up... Aanada's likes hairy guys though, right? You could have braided his fur and peirced his nails, andpainted his really big nails.. [/rambling]

Ryo watches as Tamrin's remains start to 'knit' themselves back together, sealing cuts and mending bones, Ryo notices a few changes.

"Um, Aanada? If Tamrin didn't come back um, human, what would your reaction be?"

She looks up through her tears.

"Come back? You can bring him back?"

She sees Tam's body starting to mend in front of her.

"OH."

"You can thank your mother for this. She reminded me of the ring he had on. I wouldn't have thought of that..."

So you want to be a gnome? I can make a Djinn card and try the wish again.

[Horrid Wilting to the Head] No no, that's quite alright. I think you've done enough there, Ace. (^.^)

"The ring. I had forgotten about that," she said, as she anxiously watched Tam, noticing some minor differences.

"It was one of those rings? The ones with a sense of humor? I hope he doesn't mind..."

Well, at least he didn't come back as a half-dragon. That would've been a bit...akward...to have to explain to Fivain and the rest of the Order, heh....

[Blink, blink] (O.o)
Oh snap. Aananda's scale...

Goes to PFSRD to check Reincarnate.

Hmmm.... :/

Do you have a dragon scale growing out of you know? ;)

Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6

Alright kids, is the whole being an elf thing the 'unintended but beneficial side effect', or is there something else coming? I'd like to just make one overhaul of Tam's profile if at all possible ;D

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it. :)

Alrighty then...

After the next bit of dialogue with Ryleh to let her know it (for the most part) worked, what are Aananda and Ryo doing for the next hour as the new body builds itself out of the natural elements at hand?

Yeppers. You and I may need to revisit that in future. We'll let it lie for right now and let the new guy finally get to come in :)

Aside from getting cleaned up a bit? And trying to get that scale out of my teeth. Blech. Next time remind me not to actually bite the head off. ;P

Mostly waiting anxiously. And possibly looking for the boxes of equipment the Silver transported here.

Yeah yeah, "Ice Cold, baby!" and all that ;D

And this picture is the best image I can find on short notice for Tam as an elf (at least with correct hair and eye color). Nothing in the avatar selection here comes close - unless we're turning Tamrin into 'Tamara', that is... :/

Nice picture. :)

Thank ye! The spell description does say 'young adult body', so it's actually not a bad fit.

narrator wrote:

Having probably never seen this spell function, Aananda is torn between being completely sick at her stomach (considering this is her mate's mangled corpse), and being completely fascinated by the magic - it is literally 'assembling' a new body from the remains of the old, as well as some of the surrounding material. It kind of reminds her of the nanites, actually...

I'll have to look at it later, I can't see it on my current computer.

Ryo picks up his communicator and tries to contact Ryleh, to see if she can see the good news.

1d100 ⇒ 2

But only gets static.

Ryleh Her usual mode of dress.

"Is it working? I can't get a clear look. But Aananda isn't crying anymore. So it's probably working."

She glanced over at the doctor. "I apologize for my rudeness. I was dealing with an emergency."

Does one of them get up and go looking for the equipment?

Imperial Chronicler wrote:

Aananda will. In about five minute increments when the whole thing gets to be too much for her. And then she comes back to watch.

Zeppler waves a hand dismissively.

"No harm done - sounds like it's not an emergency anymore, by your tone now. Hopefully that's good news...?"

Ryleh Her usual mode of dress.

"Yes, hopefully. Presumably the wish worked and Tamrin will be back among the living shortly."

Her shoulders slumped a little and she sighed. "Chan'trikalliax has yet more to answer for."

I knew I'd get you partially hooked, at least ;D

As Aananda takes a look around, parts of the landscape start to look familiar. It looks like the portal is just beyond the ice cliff where the Silver crashed.

Scattered around it are several of the crates and containers they saw in the hold of the Garnet. However, there is also movement down there now...

She sees several metallic objects come through the portal. Some are humanoid, while others appear to be somewhat disc- or lens-shaped, with multiple arms depending from their circumference and underside. They are about to pick up the remaining containers, when they stop in unison, a red light on each of them flashing suddenly. They then turn around and go back through the portal with haste.

She uses every curse word she ever heard Master Quo use over the years as she runs back to the others.

"We've got a problem. Several of the crates have already gone through the portal. And it gets worse. They were being carried through by droids. How the hell did they get droids? They ran off when they saw me, which is worse because if my image is in their database then my brother will know I was here. And I'm not sure how to keep them from grabbing the other crates while we're not looking..."

Aananda - Perception check (to hopefully ease her nerves, at least somewhat)

"Apparently that thrice-damned Silver's idea of negotiation was crushing Tamrin like a bug," she said grimly. "Which turned out to be a rather glaring tactical error on his part as my daughter did not take that well, as you might imagine. I had given Tamrin my last ring of three wishes in case of emergencies. I told Ryo to use it to bring him back as Aananda was too hysterical to speak at that point. As far as I can tell, it seems to be working."

Perception: 1d20+23

Beauty :)

Spoiler:

From her voracious consumption of the Imperial database, she realizes that the droids weren't reacting to her presence at all - the lights came on a few seconds after they came through the portal, and they didn't even look around before fleeing.

She seems to recall reading about short range data transponders that can alert people or machines to changes in conditions. That applies to environments, items...or living (or recently deceased) creatures. She's betting the Silver had some kind of sensor on - or in - his body that would alert the droids to bail out if his vitals stopped.

"Okay, maybe I'm overreacting. Maybe the droids just left because the Silver was dead. That could happen if he had some kind of sensor on his body. I'm still not thrilled that they were able to retrieve as much equipment as they did, or that my brother has droids. But at least he didn't get all of it. And we'll hopefully not be walking straight into a trap when we go back home..."

She sits down.

"I'm just going to sit here and wait now."

"Well, let's hope that it continues to work - because I don't really want to be the one to tell Fivain that she just lost her prodigal student. Wow...this is turning out to be one helluva day." :)

"And yes, this is turning out to be a hell of a day."

"I know that Fivain wasn't excited about the idea of the Silver ending up dead, but I'm afraid that's become a moot point. It is somewhat difficult for a creature to remain alive when its head is no longer attached to its body."

The hour passes. Aananda and Ryo both take turns keeping vigil over Tam's anything-but-still remains and stepping away to get sick (^.^)

As the magic does its work, they notice that Tam's body is changing. It's as if it's being rearranged a bit. It gets thinner, but longer. The face becomes younger, but a bit more angular. And the ears elongate into tapered points, not unlike...an elf's. In fact, that's exactly what he looks like now as the spell ends, his chest rises and falls with his first breath, and his green eyes open to the world of the living once more...

o.0 Hell no! I've seen what she does with rocks, there is no way I'm going to pretend to be one! Now shut up, your mouth hasn't grown back yet! ;)

EDIT: Elven ninja'd!
