Trusting that she's out of harm's way for the moment, Tam renews his spell assault.

Ranged Touch Attack Rolls:
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (1) + 22 = 23
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30

Orbs of Force. No Save, No SR.
Damage:
10d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 2, 5, 1, 6, 6, 5, 6) = 41 force
10d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 4, 2, 1, 1, 5, 4, 5) = 31 force
10d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 5, 5, 6, 2, 2, 2, 6) = 38 force

Ryo, you're up. ;)

Will Save(?):1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 Still no good...

Ryo raises a shaking hand as several quivers full or arrows appear aroundhim. He brings his hand down to point at the Silver, and all the arrows stream at it, aiming for anywhere they can hit.

Dc 20 Reflex save for half of 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (3, 5, 2) + 12 = 22 points of magical peircing damage

Dc 20 Reflex save for half of 3d6+12 points of magical peircing damage

Ryo's save is Reflex for the breath weapon to see how much damage his spell's protection takes.

Reflex Save vs Magic Arrows: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

Well alrighty then... ;)

The swarm of arrows strike true, piercing into the Silver's hide and causing him to roar in pain from the combined assault from the two casters.

The Silver pulls back into the icy fog. An instant later, the area around Ryo and Tam erupts with a blast of blinding multi-colored light.

Ryo and Tam need to make Will Saves - DC 24. Spell resistance applies, if anybody has it.

Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6

Will Save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23

Man, I'm the master of the near miss on Saves today. Here comes the pain...

O.o

I leave you alone for six seconds....;)

As it's getting close to driving time for me...

The spell does untyped magical damage from the rainbow-like beams that burst out over the characters.

Damage: 13d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 5, 4, 1, 6, 2, 6, 2, 5, 5, 4, 4) = 47 (1/2 on a successful save)

Also, if the save is failed, Ryo is dazed (can take no actions, but has no penalty to AC) for 1d6 ⇒ 1 rounds. If he makes the save, he is only dazzled instead (-1 to attack rolls and sight-based Perception checks) for the same duration.

Tam, as he failed his save, is dazed for 1d6 ⇒ 2 rounds.

Ah, okay. Reflex, then Wil...
Reflex:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Will:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31

I think I'm going to stat Ryo up as an actuall Diviner so I can get these stats correct and keep them consistant...

Separation anxiety issues of course, hun ;D

Nasty spell, that. I need to remember this for my RL games... (^.^)

Join the club. I keep just getting what I think is the right number and hoping for the best....:)

Aananda's up now, though I fear I won't be able to see her shiny amethyst vengeance until tomorrow...

Well, if that brings it back around to my turn...

What looks very much like a stone dragon appears, gliding through the air carrying a large boulder. She looks around for the Silver and when she is close enough sends the boulder rocketing towards him at high speed.

She's using telekinesis on the rock, so it's a lot heavier than she could normally carry.

To hit: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
Damage: 12d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 6, 5, 5, 6, 2, 1, 5, 5, 4) = 49

That should probably count as a touch attack methinks...

The rock hurtles into the Silver's side, shattering into a million pieces and digging into his reflective hide.

The rock isn't considered magical or psionic in any way, is it? Otherwise, his damage reduction will apply to this...

Homeward bound - I'll see if I can try to check back real quick when I get there.

Nope, it's an ordinary rock transported from the Elemental Plane of Earth cause someone needed ammo. :)

Gotcha. The scary thing is that she still has ammo, just lying all around now... ;P

Yep. According to the power description the damage is calculated by weight, and it can be a lot of little things or one big thing. So that was a 300lb boulder. I figure she probably lost 25 lbs of rock when it shattered so that's one less d6 of damage when she strikes next. :)

So... why is the dragon "roaring in pain"? If this is our Silver Chan gave him a potion that redered him "unable to feel pain", which means we should be freaking out right now...

Of course, I'm wanting the Silver to admit he drank such a potion... >:)

Cardcaster Ryo wrote:

Settle down - at least I can keep my saving throws straight, Skippy. Besides, he can still feel pain from one source... ;)

(And good morning all.)

Tam is just standing there, his faculties apparently worse off than Ryo's as a result of the dragon's spell. Blood, bruises and burns are the order of the day for him.

And we're on Ryo's initiative now.

good morning.

Well, for my first use of an older dragon with the Pathfinder rules, I have to say he's pretty respectable so far. But we're only two rounds into this, so that may be a bit premature of me... :)

Is there a lot of difference from 3.5? Due to being from MM2, I've been using 3.5 stats for my dragons, so I'm curious.

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't actually sat down and compared a 3.5 dragon and a Pathfinder dragon to see how they stack up to each other. I know they said that dragons got another bit of a power boost in the changeover, but with all of their abilities it's hard to pinpoint exactly where just by eyeballing it...

[EDIT]:Gotta love the SRD sites. Everything I need for a comparison, right online :)

Surprisingly, a lot of the stats are actually a little lower for the Pathfinder version (when I compare two Silvers of Dyntares' age, at any rate). The Pathfinder version does, however, have more special abilities tied to the species. And I think the spell resistance is a bit stronger too. Huh...interesting.

Ah. Okay. Guess I'll have to compare it for myself. :)

Good morning my fellow dragon slayers! ;)

After that last spell, Ryo decides to start getting creative, and he only needs two cards to do. With a flourish... multiple Ryo's starts running out form the original, each with an arm covered in fire. Each one runs straight at the dragon, each one reaing back to punch him...

Using Illusion and Fire for this, none of the Ryo's running at him are real, they're just hiding the fact the fire is, and how much fire there actually it. Also, any of the fire that hits, will stick to him but not hurt him... for now.

4 Produce Flames, all touch attacks.

Hmmmmm......thanks, that was useful. I may just have to stick with the 3.5 stats since they're gem dragons, but I'll see what I can come up with.

I would think that all you really need to do is convert skills, add CMB and CMD, and factor in the additional feats. That should be good enough for a conversion, especially if the hard stats are already a bit higher :)

Alrighty, let's see here...

All of the 'FigRyos' land their punches on the Silver, but only the first and last ones appear to breach his innate resistance to magic.

When is the damage you rolled in your post being applied to the Silver, if not this round?

Oh, sorry, I was rushing a bit. The Produce Flame hurts him now, and the fire sticks to him. It doesn't burn after it sticks though, just stays there for 1d6 ⇒ 3 rounds. Then the fun starts!

Cardcaster Ryo wrote:

Understood.

The fires from the first and last figment stick to the dragon's hide, but do not appear to be doing any harm to him.

The Silver seems to walk/lope up onto the fog itself, getting out of reach of the flaming Ryos. Then, many of his wounds disappear.

"Not good enough, whelp. Not good enough at all," he roars out to the Cardcaster. Glancing briefly skyward, his gaze catches Aananda's flawlessly, as if the fog were no bar to his senses.

"And YOU...I have a feeling my new friend will be VERY anxious to meet you..."

Aananda - When you said she looked like a 'stone dragon', is she in her native form, or was she trying to disguise her color as something more like an earth elemental than an amethyst dragon? Sorry for the late question, but I forgot to ask that yesterday...and it's also your turn now :)

I make the mistake of not pointing at Tam's caster when I say "wand" and you hold it against me for pages... jerk. ;)

I mean she's covered in stone. She's using it as armor. The effect is basically like the stoneskin spell. Hers is just a little more literal. :) There have to be some small cracks so that she can still move, so it is possible, if difficult, to discern that she's an amethyst dragon. Easier when you realize that only a gem dragon would have such an affinity for earth.

"But I'm not particularly anxious to see him."

She drew all of the rock fragments in with her power and hurled them at the Silver.

Gotcha.

The shards of rock hurtle toward the Silver, once again biting into his hide.

Tam is still unresponsive and in shock as the battle rages around him.

Ryo - your turn!

He calls the remaining fires to him, and let's them feed off the wind, becoming bigger, brigher.. and hotter. The fire seperates into different parts again, and burrow down into the snow. There is a great hissing sound that can be heard over the wind, and mass areas of snow melt away, revelaing the stone at the bottom. Ryo smiles wearily.

"Guess who's about to get stoned?"

None of the areas that melted are close to Ryo or Tamrin, but now the only fires are the ones stuck on Dantyre.

Anything else you want to do before Ryo does something foolish(and more than likely dangerous)? I think Raging is a free action. ;)

Okay, I've lost track....whose turn is it? It's probably mine isn't it. Sigh. I do this in real life games too.

Rather than hurling boulders at the dragon and risk hurting Tam, she changes strategy. She once again picks up the pieces of rock with her mind, but instead of hurtling them at the dragon, they move more gently, surrounding Tam and covering him with stone armor. She the flies at the Silver, attempting to grab him by the back of his neck.

CMB: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27

Sorry all - had to check on some stuff while on lunch. Give me a a moment to post here...it was Aananda's turn, so we're still on track.

Is the stone surrounding Tam like a rigid, enveloping coccoon, or a suit of armor? I need to know... ;)

It's like a suit of armor. It's pretty much like what she's got for herself.

Aananda wrote:

Just wanted to be sure - thank you :)

Despite his larger size, the Silver is able to easily wing out of the way of Aananda's attempt to latch onto him.

"I seem to have struck a nerve, haven't I, little one?" The Silver calls out over the wind.

"Surrender yourselves to me, and he might yet live to see another day. Keep fighting me..."

Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6

The good news - Tam has come back to his senses.

The bad news - he's pinned by a frakkin' huge dragon high up in the air, blood spewing from almost every portal of his body. And he has an itch on top of his left foot that he can. not. reach!!! ;D

Heading back to my workstation - standby please :)
