"I think you're right - I recognize the flailing," he replies, looking at the mirror critically.

"I guess Fivain's getting an early birthday present. HA! I love this!"

Tam doesn't say anything - he hugs her back and kisses her passionately. Before getting swept up in the moment, Aananda notices that he has indeed gotten taller - by about 4 inches - though he does feel slightly, well, frailer than before.

When Tam comes back up for air, he says "I'm sorry I scared you like that, Aananda. Believe me - I'll do my best to never do that again." (^.^)

He just clucks his tongue, leaning his head on one arm that is resting on the table. If it weren't for the conversation, Ryleh would swear she's being examined. :)

"You could do with a little 'getting out more', yes," he finally says with a chuckle. "Ah well, I've got a surgery I suppose I should get to. Don't want the patient screaming that I took too long in getting his leg reattached, and all that."

"Right. Okay - we need to go get the Prism and get it back to the Harbinger if we can. If we need to get through the portal now, we can try to get a message to the ship and have them go get it..."

Aananda checks the autocasters to make sure they're all set for the Prism. It takes a little bit more time than before because she's shaking with exhaustion, but once she's satisfied that everything is in working order, they jump back to the little ship.

Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6

The Prism is, thankfully, just the way they left her. Tam sends a quick text communication to Luigi to let him know they're back, then sends Aananda and Ryo to their berths to sleep off the effects of the battle (after raiding the ship's supply of healing potions to take care of their injuries).

He takes the ship out and heads out-system, plotting their course to return to the Harbinger, trying his best not to look into any reflective surfaces to see what he looks like now. ;)

Aananda and Ryo are out cold when the Prism arrives back at the Harbinger. Tam lets them sleep, and goes looking for Ryleh...

Is Ryleh still in the Library, or is she at the hangar waiting for them? ;)

They would wig out a bit. Tam's going to be a while, as a result. Nothing like a rigorous Q&A session between friends, neh? ;P

The Ryo sleeping on the bed fades away.

"I thought of you three would come to see sooner or later." Ryo says as he lets his glamour fall, showing him to be in the corner. "Consider the actions I took when Tamrin died, I thought it best to have an illusion take any attack against me." His Shield evelopes him, cutting him off but allowing him to see and hear clearly.

"Personally, I'll understand if you'd prefer it if I left. The last time you saw Keaton, neither he nor I were in our right minds."

Ryleh Her usual mode of dress.

"Stop being dramatic, Ryo. My daughter considers you to be a brother. Do you honestly think I would attack you?"

"Though, yes, I do have concerns. Quite a lot of them. I would be a very poor parent if I did not. So. You are going to give me an explanation. A detailed one."

"I wasn't particularly worried about you attacking me actually, just Tamrin or Aananda. Or both at once. And then there's the fact Tamrin could bring the entire ship against me... Sorry, I'm rambling a little bit, aren't I?"

"So.. a detailed explanation. Well, since I vaguely remember a large hole swalling Aananda, I believe you were at the after-party? Good. Anyway, seeing the images of our childhood again, and wanting to save my baby brother.. I lost it, and took control oh him instead of being the one controlled, as your daughter and her husband think. I was stupid to think I could save him while he was in the blood frenzy though, and lost control of him. He was always stubborn..."

"Anyway, he would have gone off to feed again if I hadn't convinced him otherwise. At the arena, when I saw the chance to stop him, well" he holds up his mechanical arm, "you know the result. Later when I was strong enough, I left to seal him into my shadow until I found a way to cure him. I wasn't lying when I said the magic in my shadow would keep people from sneaking up on me."

His starts blinking rapidly.
"Wouldn't you do anything to save Aananda? No one was in any danger, expecially after the supplemnt was created."

I've got to take my neices swimming, but I'll be back on later.

Ryleh Her usual mode of dress.

Ryleh sighed and rubbed her temples.

"You do realize that Aananda and Tam are unlikely to see it that way? When Aananda wakes up and has a chance to think she's going to realize what she saw. And I already gave Tam the mirror so that he could watch the battle, figure out what went wrong."

"The obvious solution to how to change your brother back is to kill him and then use magic to bring him back to life, as himself rather than as an undead. Short of that I do not know how to release someone from a curse of undeath."

"And as for doing anything to save my child....you might want to remember that Chan'trikalliax is also my child. Over the course of my lifetime I have had 42 children and I was only ever able to save six of them. Chan'trikalliax murdered four of his siblings. There are some lines that, once crossed, cannot be erased. He is dead to me. Even Aananda, who loved him, cannot forgive him his depravity. Yes, he is possessed by a demon, but for all that, he is still himself. He made the choice to be what he is. Do not think that you can engender sympathy with that comparison. From me at least. You might have better luck with Aananda. She'll be thinking of James. He is just as evil and depraved, but he at least was never given a choice. Much more like your little brother. The problem is that that doesn't undo all the horrible things they have done, now does it?"

"And then there's the fact that you lied to them. Lying to me I can understand, but lying to them....it's not going to go over well, Ryo."

"And what is this supplement you speak of?"

Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6

See, I know I'm walking into a verbal beatdown with Fivain, and I'm still glad I'm not in that ship right now... ;D

I emailed Kar to go ahead and make his initial post in Agartha, but I haven't heard back from him all day. Hopefully he'll be able to put something up this weekend.

I'll see if I can peek back in before my RL game starts tonight. If I can't, everybody have a great weekend! :D

Male Human Mutant/12

Mutation. It's a word not many welcome. Most people fear or resent the mutant, either hiding in terror or plotting against them. The appearace is random, only truely emerging many years after the unfortunate youths birth.

So it was with Kar. He was born a resident of Agartha, the Son of a travelling merchant. He had traveled all his life looking, to anyone who ever saw him, to be a normal boy. It was not until he was eight years old when his powers awoke. He hardly even knew when it happened, but everyone else did. The next five years of his life were like living in the abyss. His father beat him daily for his 'shame' and his mother drank and cried. They hated him, but he couldn't understand why. His father kept travelling, selling and buying at every oppertunity. Soon word got out that a certain merchant had a shapeshifter for a son. The distrust of mutants was an ugly thing. From that point on whenever his fater made a good deal, he made an enemy, and it always seemed to stem from everyones distrust. the abuse got worse. Finally he couldn't take it anymore and he ran.

He diddn't get far. When he made it out of the city and into the forest he was beset on all sides by wolves. It was not quick. they hounded him for hours, nipping at his heels every time he slowed until finally he managed a real transformation.

He became a wolf. One moment he was running, his clothes whipping behind him, the next he was on all fours, speeding away from his stunned pursuers.

That night he decided that he would make this power his, he would be a victim no more.

Since then he changes faces and bodies like others change clothes, never the same person on the outside, the same rebellious angry cynical youth on the inside.

Male Human Mutant/12

Running through the fields was always fun. Kar, running away from the last farmer who's daughter might never forget him, stops for a moment to look around and catch his breath, shifting his bones back to their full density and engorging his muscles back to their 'natural size' he looks around. No one following him.

Looking out over the plains in the direction away from the source of his plight, he spies a small cabbin. Heading in that direction he tries to make himself as small as possible, not a hard job for him, as his body shrinks down to around four feet in height and his skin becomes tan, blending in with the terrain well. He never should have left his pack behind, now all he posseses are his magic trinkets and a single pair of rough workers pants.

Sneaking up to the side of the cabbin he notices a small clothes-line behind it, looking around to make sure no one was watching, he darts out to grab some clothes, his current pants already falling down on his now smaller body.

"I was hoping I'd be forced to leave by then, but it seems I'm not so lucky. The only argument I can think of now is that I only said I would finish things, not kill him. That argument has more holes than moth-eaten blankets though.. I think I'll stay in my Shield for that."

"I'm not sure I can bring him back that way, not with magic that rivals the wish that brought Tamrin back. Since I've no acess to that kind of magic, I've had to turn to science. Whatever changed him took time to do it, which leads me to think it can be reversed. I've already had blood samples from before and after his transformation undergo analysis, and there is very little different."

"No, it doesn't, but gods be damned if I'm going back on the promise I made to my parents! I know changing him back won't reverse a single thing he's done, I know it won't bring my friend back, but nobody is going to stop me from trying without killing my. Yes, Chan'trikalliax is dead to you, yes he is possessed, but I refuse to believe you would not go back and stop all of that from happening if you could." He pulls a card from within his robes and flicks it through the barrier. It looks burnt and useless, nothing a Seer should be carrying around. "Before I turned from magic, I tried making a new card, Time, to change things. Needless to say, it didn't work."

"And then there's the fact that you lied to them. Lying to me I can understand, but lying to them....it's not going to go over well, Ryo."

"I know that! I was lucky when the ship's scanners didn't pick him up when he got here, and if things get out off hand, I know I can get back to the asteroid, and get home. I'll send Ormarr and Adsila to help with Chan if that happens."

"And what is this supplement you speak of?"

"Something I tried working on without much success. Razzy accidently found my notes(I swear that kid snoops more than Aananda looking for skimmer parts) and fixed them before I knew about it. It keeps Keaton from having to have a 'drink' at the expense of others."

Only to find himself snared in a mass of plantlife and staring down a veritable army of serpents! Bwahahaha!

What, Ryo's house is only within sight of a city, and it takes a while to get there by skimmer, let alone walking/running like Kar was! Sheesh... ;)
