"Did you get the feeling that he was going to try and meet one of us, or somebody else you know? Or could it literally be anybody? And why do I have a sickening feeling the person will be the next victim...?"
"It could be literally anyone, anywhere in the city. The only good thing about all this is that we have until nightfall to find. I know he won't be out during the day, the light-crystal would destroy him."
Shows what he knows, huh? :D

She searches her memory as she talks to him, trying to figure out if she'd met him before."Not really, I just saw a new face and thought I'd say hi. Oh, you have some grease on, well, nevermind, I guess as a mechanic you get grease all over, huh?"
"My name is Keaton, glad to meet you."
"Pleased to meet you too. And if you ever need something fixed, you know where to find me," she said cheerfully. "Speaking of which, I need to get back to fixing this skimmer. See you around." She waved and went back to work.

Not that I'm saying they must do only that and nothing else, I'm just wondering if they may try to become a little more informed about the vampire."
Like how a detective or police officer looks into someones background to learn more about them. History, past crimes, family members, etc.

Ahem...very discreetly. First, try to ferret out the locations of the attacks, victims and any connections among them. That's straight forward. Simple location of the vampire is first, with the goal of seeking out a lair. They'll keep their distance, physically and information-wise. Most will depend on what they stumble across.

Unless you are lying, there went a fun bit of role-playing. Of course, if you do decide you are lying, it could lead to even more interesting fun... ;)
Ryo looks relieved with that answer.
"Good. That means there is little chance it will notice them."
I wonder when anyone will decide to notice the fact that, despite knowing the Keaton and his name, he never refers to him using words such as "he" or "him"(with some exceptions). Of course, I think not using Keaton's name is strannge enough...
Also, I got a bunch of new pdfs on saturday, including "Fang and Fury. A guidebook to vampires."

First, size up the mark. Then, determine the mark's schedule. Look for ways to slip in.... Thought about throwing some rogue contacts and action into it, but it looks like year end will be a busy one for me. Lots of projects = job security 'til January. If you want to throw in one it'd be cool. Not all rogues will 'follow orders' to the tee.

Listen closely children, for The Brother's Tale is about to take an interesting twist...
After a bit of conversation with Kannic to pass the time, Ryo retreats back to his room to exercise his psychic abilities in private. Before he can start though, he notices his pack. The corner of a book is peaking out, and Ryo pulls it and sits on his bed looking through it, a mixture of happiness and saddness on his face.
Downstairs though, Kannic receives a bit more information than he thought he would about Keaton, but it's not what he expected.
"I looked up all the people with the name 'Keaton', and only one has dissappeared in the past month, all others have been accounted for. Thorg somehow managed to scowl and smirk at the same time. "Ye'll be wanting Rannor's Junkyard." He quickly gives them directions. "Ye might as well go with him. Ye're already finished with the work I had for ye today. Go make sure he buys the right stuff."

"Helloooooo. Hellooo, in there!" She keeps this up until a cranky looking old gnome comes to the gate.
"Hi,"she says cheerfully. "We're here to buy. Thorg sent us. We're looking for a hoverbike. And the parts to make it working," she added with an endearing smile. "And if you could let me know the price for a might work again with a little help skimmer that would be fantastic too."

She grinned and sorted through the skimmer parts. She quickly found one that wasn't in too bad of shape. Sure, the engine needed to be rebuilt, but a lot of the parts were still usable. She gathered up all the parts she would need and pushed the vehicle over by where the gnome was still cataloguing all the hoverbike parts she'd picked out.
She waited impatiently while the gnome went through the final tallies for both piles.
"Alright," he said at last. "If you take both today, and I recommend you do, cause I don't think I can handle another bout with little miss sunshine over here, I'll give you the lot for 300 gold."
