Chun Hei |
Chun Hei has had a CL 15 extended GMW that gets popped by the dispel.
DM Feral |
The Viscount concentrates through the pain of his injuries and unravels several of the spells active in the area: Lenny’s aqueous orb bursts dropping Chun to her feet; Chun’s weapon loses its extraordinary shine as the additional enchantment on its edge dims; the curtain of force-blades splitting the party fuzzes and fades from view; and the oni and the Kuthite priestess are visibly diminished.
Oracle: 1d5 ⇒ 1
Oni: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Reflex vs Flaming Sphere: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Reflex vs Flaming Sphere: 1d20 ⇒ 15
The giant groans as the flaming sphere dazes it again. I think you need roll damage for this.
"That was poor timing", she grouses when Chun escapes the magical prison within her robes and the Viscount begins undoing her spells. "I'm afraid you have to die now."
Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 26 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 26 + 4 = 44
In rapid succession she casts two spells and then lunges for the returned 'paladin' with her hand wreathed in baleful magical energy.
Touch vs Chun: 1d20 + 12 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 12 + 4 = 34
Make a DC 20 will save vs curses or be afflicted with a curse that lowers your saves by 4.
After that, make a DC 24 fort save vs death or take 150 damage. If you save, instead take 10d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 4, 2, 1, 3, 6, 5, 6) = 41.
@Viscount: We'll assume the misses previously from your invisibility were due to mirror images instead. That means you start this with 6 images up.

Second Iterative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Confirming vs Kaz: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27
Extra Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
The tengu continues hurling his tiny knives at Lenny.

Ki Attack: 1d20 + 21 + 4 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (3) + 21 + 4 + 1 - 6 = 23
Damage: 1d2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
@Lenny: Make a DC 26 fort save vs poison or take 1d3 ⇒ 2 additional strength damage.
The party is up.
Viscount Abel Mercer |
Flaming Sphere Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) = 7
The Viscount from the floor looks over at Kaz and winks.
Concentration DC 25: 1d20 + 9 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 16 = 33
Kaz is lifted from the ground and brought into melee with the priestess into a flank with the hopefully still standing Chun.
Another Telekinetic Charge
The Viscount then directs the other Flaming Sphere at the oni.
Dazing Persistent DC 25: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6) = 12
The other of course continues to burn.
Dazing Persistent DC 25: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1) = 4
Then from the floor once more quickly blasts the priestess.
Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 1, 3) + 5 = 17
Lenny "The Toymaker" Bruce |
I just remembered that Lenny is wearing the ring of protection we found in an earlier cave. Link to post is here. Would have saved me some dmg from darts earlier. So Lenny's AC is 10, +2 from dex, +5 from Barkskin, +2 from the ring, +4 from Mage Armor, +1 from Haste = 24. And since I used my move to move the orb instead of standing up that is -4 to his attacks. So he needed 28+ But no need to retcon. I'm still poisoned from the last volley.
fort save vs poison from last round.: 1d20 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 17 + 2 = 35
Lenny shakes off the poison from last turn.
"Welcome back Chun! Now finish her and we have this fight won."
Lenny finds it handy to be prone for the moment so he will crawl 5feet and Reveal Weakness on the caster.
-7 to AC and saves.
DM Feral |
@Lenny: I forgot about you being prone as well. In that case he would have zipped over to peck you. Same attack roll but instead you're hit for 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6.
Reflexes: 2d20 ⇒ (19, 5) = 24
Reflexes: 2d20 ⇒ (7, 15) = 22
The Viscount's orbs slowly burn the giant to death. He force missiles pummel the Kuthite woman viciously.
Grota, Chun, and Kaz are up.
Chun Hei |
+2 untyped bonus vs curses from Heart of the Pharaoh Ap#83
will save vs curse: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 2 = 28
fort save vs death: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
41 damage reduces Chun Hei to 114
Chun Hei swiftly retaliates after uttering "Your foul magics will do no more harm."
attack: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (3) + 22 = 25
damage+Holy: 2d8 + 27 + 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 27 + (4, 4) = 37

damage+Holy: 2d8 + 27 + 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 27 + (6, 6) = 46
On the off chance she's an extraplanar outsider I get +2 to hit and +2d6+2 to damage from bane
Chun Hei then follows up with a cold ice strike
cold damage Reflex DC 21 halves: 14d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 5, 4, 3, 5, 1, 1, 5, 2, 4, 6, 5) = 54
Kaz"The Business" |
Kaz steps over to fight the tengu.

Power Attack, Haste, Advice: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Power Attack, Advice: 1d6 + 23 ⇒ (3) + 23 = 26
DM Feral |
She's not an extraplanar outsider but that iterative is enough to finish her off.
Chun brings her dark god's judgement down on the Kuthite oracle, ending her with one final bloody blow.
Kaz follows up by making short work of the persistent tengu, slaying him before he can peck at the prone wizard again.
With the oni perma-dazed, I'm going to wrap things up.
***
With the Aspis and Five Storms leadership defeated, the party is allowed time to tend their wounds and search the fallen. The seekers find that the Aspis were high-ranking agents within the sinister organization and were impressively-equipped. More importantly, they carry imperial relics, likely pillaged from elsewhere within the ruins. With the party's strength restored, the remaining forces occupying the ruins offer little resistance and are quickly broken and routed. Soon, the last of the Aspis and their allies are driven from the site and the imperial palace and the Jade Throne within are secured!
***
The party returns to the Grand Lodge and arrives in Gallard Stormeye's office to find him entertaining a guest visiting from distant Goka - Venture-Captain Amara Li in the flesh. Though the two are intimately close when the seekers enter, the master of the Lantern Lodge steps away from Venture-Captain Stormeye gracefully and seamlessly transitions into a formal bow. The large ulfen man clears his throat and adjusts his dragonhide armor before acknowledging the party with a sharp nod.
"Venture-Captain Stormeye has notified me of your excellent work in the imperial ruins", Amara Li explains in her lightly accented Taldane. "My agents will take things from here but know that you have my personal gratitude. From what I have read, there is little chance that my less seasoned lodge could have dealt with the dangers you endured in securing the Jade Throne."
"But the Jade Throne is only the first part of crowning a new emperor and returning peace and stability to Tian Xia. It will take the throne, the blessings of the gods, and the courage of strong hearts, and more but someday soon we might see such order restored. And, though we operate within the shadows now, someday I will see it written that the Pathfinder Society was instrumental in freeing my homeland from the dark and selfish powers that tear her apart and that all of you were the vanguard of that cause."
"On behalf of the Lantern Lodge and all the good peoples of Tian Xia, thank you Seekers."
That's it folks. Thanks for playing!
Chun Hei |
Chun Hei bows respectfully.
Lenny "The Toymaker" Bruce |
"Happy to help. Now if you excuse me I have a report to write. Then back to my estate I go to rest for a week or two. Contact me again through the usual channels should you need my assistance again."
