They will work for the most part. True Strike will not stack with it, but when Melee is making full attacks, True Strike is only applying once anyway.

Actually I'm wrong. Between the Mage Armor defending against Incorporeal touch attacks and the +2 ring he just put on his AC vs the attack was 19.

But it is a moot point because Lenny is a scrawny guy and the regular roll of 8 was enough.

Grota has restoration but I would still need to be raised. Was the Str drain considered a death effect?

Did some checking. Assuming you get my body back to a big city regular Resurrection works.

My options are spend 32 of my 38 prestige or 10,910 gold.

I think I'll spend the prestige since it leaves me enough for body recovery.

And it seems Grota has kindly offered to handle the Restoration.


I would suggest checking with the celestial lady at the top level. She can help out with the resurrection at least.

Yup, Grota has you covered for restoration. 3 rounds of advice and 1 ki point should do it for ya, especially since Resurrection only gives 1 permanent negative level.

Where did the darkness come from btw? Did it happen as the frog creatures left the water or did they leave the water and one of them cast a spell or spell-like ability to cause the darkness?
Need to know if Lenny saw them long enough to ID them.

Here's how I think it is: I was at 50 health, then took 81 from the critical alone. Then the triggered Chain Lightning hit dealt me 17 more because I don't think I could make a save, putting me at -47. Per that reasoning, I don't think the 24 from First Aid Gloves would bring me back.


You get a reflex save even while helpless but your dexterity counts as 0. That would be -13 from your current values. Also, you cannot evade.

And if you make the save (although you're not likely to) I think it will save you actually, as you would be at -38 and then go to -14 with the BOL.

All depends on the save. Use a reroll if you got it!


He'd be at -39 if he makes the save. 50-81-8. The 24 healing would put him at -15 out of his 18 constitution.

I've been known to carry a potion of fox's cunning on big dumb fighters at higher levels to give them a chance if they get mazed,

Plane Shift also escapes.
I could have also dimensional anchored myself prior to combat, although that'd only make sense if going up against a foe who's known to use plane shift aggressively or maze.

A scroll of Word of Recall is Chun Hei's backup teleportation scroll. Is plane-limited so no help in the maze of course.

Other fun things to do in a maze are summon creatures and have them help you escape, or just try and escape on their own.

It's a powerful 8th level spell and I've got plenty of my own shenanigans.

Thought we were toast in that last fight. That caster was way more trouble then I expected.

As for the raise dead I think the Empress cast the spell as a favor so we just need the 5K gold. I won't object to donations but 5K isn't a big deal at this level.

If you mean the cost to replace Ambassador Paracletus then sure I can chip in. Though it is only 1K gold not counting the cost for casting the spell.

And I plan to give Lenny more quickened spells. Beyond the one I built him to do I mean. (Quickened double augmented celestial dire tiger ftw.)

Lenny actually needed a resurrection because he died to a death effect. The material component for that is 10k.

I sent out chronicles about 2 minutes ago. That included a 1833 gold deduction which was enough to cover the resurrection and Cookie's raise companion. I'd actually forgotten about the brave ambassador. We'll call that one a freebie.
