So... I am a new-ish GM. I am close to my first GM star and will have it once this game is complete, or one other non-Outpost game (Crypt of the Everflame), whichever wraps up first. I will make mistakes. I admit that up front, but I will try minimize the impact on the game and we'll get through this and have some fun.

I don't have the scenario quite yet, but hopefully soon I can start prepping.

Ok all. Due to time zones and the like I am not sure as to when we can officially start. I am in Australia so it is already 5 March here, but I will kick this game off in 24 hours from now, roughly.

Sooo... do I just cast my spell at the wall if I no longer have an AOE that would avoid a party member?

EDIT: The map cleared, but combat finished anyways. Is there an option to stop casting and not spending a spell? Not a big deal if I lose the spell, but good to know either way.

Sir Falcon, while I don't fully understand your character (is it a reference to something? maybe he is just a little nutty? idk), I just wanted you to know that I find him particularly entertaining!

He is an old favorite character of mine - he's just a wildly hotheaded guy. He was a Paladin before but I think hes way better as an Order of the Flame Cav.

Oh man, I am loving Itami right now. He's so bewildered by our lack of subtlety.

Haha I'm glad someone is enjoying him! :) I'm having a lot of fun with it, he is quite out of his element with you guys.

It is pretty refreshing to see characters who are actually befuddled about how the Pathfinders get away with all the things they do.

All the anti-slaver sentiment makes me feel bad for playing them. I don't have a choice guys. Sorry.

Falcon isn't even against slavery - just against people who make his journey to glory more difficult!

GM, I can't speak for everyone, but I haven't gotten the impression that any of the players are offended by the presence of slavery in this scenario. I think they are just expressing their character's disapproval of the institution as the opportunities to do so present themselves. I don't think any of the players are bearing ill will towards you as the GM, just the characters the scenario is prescribing you to play.

Keep it up, I think we are all enjoying the ample opportunities for roleplaying in this scenario without it being truly RP focused. Thank you for the hard work you are putting into running this! :)

Itami is correct, at least as far as it concerns Tenibri. As a member of Liberty's Edge, he is focused on opposing slavery and helping oppressed people. I signed him up for this scenario because of the slavery plotline.

Trust me, GM. Jiggo has no qualms with squashing slavers. He'd destroy all of Misery Row if he had a chance.

Fellow Pathfinders, I'd like some Faction Goal advice, if you would indulge me.

Tenibri succeeded at his Diplomacy check for the faction goal that I spoiled in the Gameplay thread. He also qualifies for the Liberty's Edge faction goal about freeing slaves during the adventure. The goal for freeing slaves has three checkboxes; the goal for delivering the speech with a Diplomacy check has one.

Which is the better of the two for Tenibri to check off in this instance? I guess this really depends on how many scenarios will give him the opportunity to free slaves, right? Is that seen often, or is it pretty rare?

Any thoughts?

I think this is the second or third time I've been in a scenario that explicitly has slaves. You can always roll that diplomacy check, but freeing slaves isn't always an option!

Free some slaves. You can always make Diplomacy checks later.

Tenibri, I am just revising your chronicle. You rolled for a day job, but I can disregard if you would like to complete a faction goal. What would you like to do?

The faction goal that I'm completing doesn't take the place of a day job; I can do both.
