I think the asterisk is to say two discoveries don't stack, so you don't get smoke and stink effects. Doesn't say the basic ability of the bomb is replaced, right? I'm not creating a house rule on this just trying to get it right.

Yes, precise bombs is specific to the damage as I read it.

Well that pretty much kills any kind of non-lethal option, though I guess I can always precise bombs squares to eliminate the blast damage, leaving the smoke/stink.

Hi folks, there has been a parting of the chaos just long enough for me to poke my head up and try to touch base with my various games. The probate and estate stuff for this branch of the family seems...challenging at best. Between my new promotion and what might be weeks if not months of familial wrangling I need to be honest about what I can accomplish and how often.

I am going to go ahead and step away from this game. I appreciate the well wishes and its been great to play with folks but I have to trim in places for the good of the games and my own sanity. Maybe in a more medium future time will be more available and I can re-assess but I think it best I lighten my load and mark myself as inactive. Thanks for the game, good luck.

First, welcome to the team. I have been playing for some time but was also a replacement player. Let me know if I can help you fit in or catch in any way.

Second, I want to say that somehow an Enchanter seems to fit with this game. You should add a lot. I did look over your character and had a few comments: thanks for the invite to do that. Your character is pretty solid so I know you know how to build a wizard.

Skills - I wish you would at least put a point into all knowledge skills instead of maxing out about half of them. Nature and Dungeoneering are important for knowing about what we are fighting. As a Lore Warden I have all the knowledge skills but am only +5 in them. I pull out a nat 20 every once in a while and make a hard knowledge check but would love some help in that area.

Languages - Consider adding ancient Thassilonian if its different from Thassilonian and it fits with your background.

Spellbook - I took a very quick look. I guess I am more interested to see what you plan to pack. My only comments are: 1) I see no pit spells. They can be handy things, 2) You are missing Hideous Laughter and Confusion two of my favorite enchantments. But maybe not your stile.

And finally, I envy your gear. My gear is sub-optimalized with things like enchanted cold iron (Nice to have but an expensive option) and an ioun stone for stat boosting. Your one stat boost item is really worth more than all my gear combined. And your spellbook is quite nicely filled out too. Just jealous. :) Maybe your craft Wondrous feat can help some of us catch up.

Being able to craft is really nice for rounding out gear at the start of the game. :) I'm more than happy to contribute in the downtime.

I tend to prefer to max out a handful of knowledges as I find that when you begin to advance in levels the DC can really begin to climb if you don't specialize.

I made a couple errors with the spell book, late night spelling never ends well. For instance I think I forgot Dispel Magic, so I'll go over it again before I jump in proper. And thanks for noticing, I sank alot of money into it, aimed to pick up at least one good thing from each school so if I missed any staples let me know!

On the topic of skills I'm also going to take the sage archetype on my familiar so that it can pick up the slack in that department.


So, quick review of your crunch, Nalar.

Skills are max rank 7 ... looks like you assumed that in your calculations but wrote down 10, so just need to fix the math there.

You are 5 languages over as I calculate it. Let me know where my mixup is.

Gear had a max per item of 5k ... so sorry about the sweet +4 headband, but since no one else has one yet, needed to restrict that for you as well. If you do pick a +2 headband and some other stuff, remember to identify the 2 skills associated with the headband.

You forgot your 5th level bonus feat.

Need to name your familiar.

For getting you into the game:

I'll incorporate you into this next room fairly quickly. I will need to draft a bit of loose motivation for you (you are a Pathfinder) and let you flesh out the rest of it. I'll send that later this evening / tomorrow.

Loose background for you to work with however you wish. You are a Pathfinder working out of the Magnimaar Lodge ... Heidmarch Manor. Sheila Heidmarch is your Venture Captain. You can know the others if you wish. They also all work out of the Magnimaar lodge and have been on assignment for Sheila as long as they've been there. Several other members have rotated in and out of their missions, so there's plenty of opportunity for you to have picked up things.

You were sent into the Mushfends with two potential objectives.

1) Broker a deal between one of the indigenous tribes and the merchant Sabiyya from the bazzar for locally grown spices and herbs like whiplilly.

2) Should you encounter other Pathfinders in the area, offer your aid. There are a couple groups that haven't been heard from in a while.

Additionally, you were approached by a cloaked woman in Heidmarch Manor who quietly mentioned she heard you were headed to the Mushfens and may be near the Lady's Light. You recognize her as the sculptor Ayalla, famous for her work on the Irespan. She asks you for any possible relics, artwork or rubbings of paraphanalia related to Noticula, a demon lord of succubi, rumored to have had a cult in the area at one time, possibly due to the Runelord's former abode. She intimated a substantial reward.

You know that worship of Nocticula is illegal at worst and interest in her would be frowned on at best. Your choice how you wish to handle this request with the party of characters.

You travelled south through the Mushfens and discovered a tribe of boggards and a tribe of troglodytes at war. You approached the boggards first, given they didn't smell as bad and the seemed to have the upper hand in the war. Your diplomacy went awry and you were captured and given to a group of warrior women who were headed into the Lady's Light. They kept you hooded and unconscious most of the time. You came to in some sort of battle between the armored women and winged demon men (incubus ... incubi?). An uncannily beautiful woman arrived and ended the fight through significant enchantment magic and teleported the warrior women away. She dropped you off to be the play thing of a viciously sick creature wrought from pure lust ... a lust sinspawn. (more on this in a bit)

The sinspawn had been torturing you for an unknown period of time (a week or more) until the party enters the room. The sinspawn stashes you, partially bound, behind her throne (your gear is at the front of her throne) and casts an invisibility spell. At the same time, the beautiful woman you saw earlier and a gaggle of party goers all appear ... you hear the scene in Gameplay that the party just experienced. You may make an initiative roll in Gameplay and start taking actions via spoiler until they're aware you are there)

[ooc]Let me know how much of the story you're familiar with and we'll see how much we need the party to fill you in on. I think they did a recap for Levelle a while back in Dicussion that should help a bit ... for timing purposes, you entered the Lady's Light well before they did.
