Negative on the ring and/or amulet.

Good point on the resistance ring. Its worth 12k, so sold at half and split 4 ways, its another 1,500 gold each. That's more than I need to afford the crossbow.

I've still got the rapier, which I'm not proficient in, to potentially sell. A mithril undead bane weapon seemed too good a thing to sell off!

Still curious (DM?) if there are any discounts available for us in town.

Braelex, did you include the sale of that cracked pale blue ioun stone to the loot totals? It should sell for 100 gp. I am about to delete from my character so wanted to be sure before its gone from there and I forget about it.

If given enough down time Relan would ask for the following crafting in this order

Cloak of resistance +1 upgraded to +3. Cost is 4000 and 8 days.
Gauntlets of Skilled Maneuver (trip) Cost is 2000 and 4 days. Relan can help with the crafting
Belt of Incredible Dexterity +2. Cost is 2000 and 4 days.
Amulet of Natural Armor +1. Cost is 1000 and 2 days but you need Barkskin so maybe that will not work.

So sorry, I've not been getting updates on the discussion thread for the past couple weeks and have been on Nursing placement so I haven't had a lot of time anyway. Working through all the posts so will post a some claims and crafting rolls in a bit.

Nalar will claim the unholy symbol of Noctula (1,000gp) and recommends we keep the scroll of heal (1,650gp). Taking that out of his share he's left with 12,531 GP.

Okay, crafting. Spellcraft +17
Cloak of resist +3 upgrade. DC5+5(Item CL)+5(Does not meet three times level prerequisite)=DC15
Can't fail to craft, enjoy your new cloak.

Gauntlets of Skilled Maneuver. Opposition school -4 Spellcraft +13 DC5+3(Item CL)+5(Does not meet Feat Prerequisite)=DC13
Still can't fail, enjoy the gloves.

Belt of +2 Dex. Opposition school Spellcraft +13 Nalar will buy the add the spell Cat's Grace into his spellbook for 40gp and spend two slots a day to prepare it.

Amulet of barkskin +1. Opposition school Spellcraft +13.

Belt of +2 Con. Oppostion School Spellcraft +13, one of the spell books has the spell Bear's endurance as usual will spend two slots to cast it.

And, it's crafted.

Okay, Nalar will craft a Pink and Green Ioun stone first and put it in the shard. He'll also make a set of Seducer's Bane bracers. It'll take 57 days to make everything, assuming he can read the book and craft in the same day, he gets 27 days into reading it.

Maybe a two to one split of offensive to defensive items?

Hey everyone, my wife and daughter are going to be in town until 1 Nov, so intend to be sparse until then. I apologize for the delay, but want to spend time with them as I can. If I get a spare moment, I'll update.

In the mean time, the river boat trip will take 14 days if you wish to go that route and this will be the last chance you have to spend Pathfinder prestige (for the most part) for a while given that there is no lodge in Kaer Maga.

Ok. After paying the cost for some very nice crafting, Relan is gonna start working on his AC some. Its currently at 19, which is pretty low for level 8. He has a little over 8k to spend.

So he can purchase a ring of protection +1 for 2K (just acquired an amulet of natural armor so that is already included in is AC 19)

His archetype restricts him to light armor and he currently has a +1 chain shirt. He'd like to pay to have this upgraded to +2 for 3K while we are down for over a month. Any issues there? He is a 2K short of being able to go all the way to +3.

That is 5k spent, AC of 21, and 3.3 k remaining. Not sure he can add anything more to his AC with that money.


Pick up a buckler? Magical even.

Thought of that. Bucklers work for archers better than melee types. I'd suffer -1 to attacks while wearing the buckler and am not sure I'd get the AC bonus any round when I used the hand with the buckler to wield my weapon. Item says "If you use a weapon in your off hand you loose the buckler bonus to AC the next turn." I'd rule that using a two handed weapon is using a weapon in your off hand.

Whether it was intentional or not, I'd like to say that the tactical use of burst of radiance and charm monster against weak saves and the tenuous nature of the alliance/situation were very well done.

Those sorts of smart uses of spells and knowledge of creatures really makes an encounter easy, but also surprises me which makes the game enjoyable for me, too!

It was a huge amount of fun for me too, being able to play an Enchantment wizard as an Enchantment wizard. Often Ap's have enemies that are immune to mind effects.

I am pretty sure Protection from Evil does NOT protect from Confusion as that effect is not control.


If that spell is the sole basis for your ddecision, I'll leave this quote from the FAQ for the CRB.

That is true, except we're also no good adventures, and if it's one thing adventuring parties are good at it's not taking instructions!


Thought I had a sweet map for this and I can't find it. Going to delay a bit to see if I can source it again (no longer than 24 hours)

You will have an unknown number of rounds before they break through, if you wish to prep. We'll do that round by round. The hole is large enough to cast a spell, throw a bomb or fire an arrow through to the first seugathi (always spell that wrong if I don't look it up)

Finally, I believe the secondary ability of the seugathi to direct confused characters would be protected by protection from/magic circle vs evil.

Its not just you. I'm happy they did some upgrading, but its also a bit of a pain to get around. I hope they fix the font/sizing.


I think it's terrible. It feels half new and half old and the whole experience is poor. I anticipate some more down time soon.


And ... every time I update my posts, it's showing on the counter. That little "feature" seems to return every time they do maintenance.
