We're out of makeshift torches, then. They only last 1 hour, not 8 hours like the sunrods I brought. And we're down to one sunrod, by the way. Unless Sammark wants to juggle several crystals with Crystal Light.

We'll have to wait until we're Level 5 before Connor can craft several signal poison pill rings of Crystal Light for everybody. And I have plans for a Psicrystal Staff with Crystal Light (continuous).

If nobody else is going to comment, I think we can move on to "Room 4" on the Underground Map. If we can get to "Room 1" without any battles (just peeking at the southern door in Room 4), then I vote for an overnight rest to recover points and heal up. (And by heal up, I mean, it's time for Selvan to make everybody full hp/hp if he can. Connor's still at 6/15 hp, and with watches Connor won't recover hp in an 8-hour period.)

I wonder what the psionic equivalent to Bandages of Rapid Recovery (1st; Cure Light Wounds, Lesser Restoration, Stabilize; 200 gp) would look like. We have Natural Healing (3 hp) with Selvan, Connor's planning on getting Empathic Condition Relief at 4th Level, as well as Cleanse Body (correct ability damage). Would that be equivalent, or would Body Adjustment be the correct parallel to Cure Light Wounds? But it's another 5th Level project.

That's a big honkin' threat in there. I don't mind the challenge but the "possible Snowcoat corpse" vs. the "mysterious hole in the wall that could be Snowcoat hiding via a magical device" is killing me with curiosity. Let's hope it's not the resident Illithid Lich Necromancer waiting for us behind the hole in the wall.

24 hours later, no IC replies, I'm only going to move people into the downstairs corridor. mdt can start "the surprise round" if he wishes. I was hoping people would buff themselves via Selvan's Link with Vigor and Inertial Armor. There's also Sustenance, but I guess players are happy with their trail rations. I'm just trying to not have Connor run out of psionic power points so quickly, compared to yesterday. Connor blew through 17/18 points in just two battles. Ugh.

In doing the math on my character sheet on Google, it turns out dorjes are worth less to psionic characters than wands are to spellcasters. As a psionic, most people will put a lot of skill points into Spellcraft (Psicraft), in order to activate power stones and borrowed powers (by telepathy/touch) in the first place. To try and activate a dorje for a power NOT on your power list, the DC is 20 for Use Magic Device (Use Psionic Device). For a power stone with UMD (UPD) it is DC 25 then DC + manifester level of the power, compared to DC 15 + the power's level with Spellcraft (Psicraft) if you know the power. So now you have two skills to add to each level (Psicraft/UPD), not just one (Psicraft). Make Psionics opaque to Magic, as in our game (and yes, I love it), you are talking about four skills, not just two.

Oh sure, a dorje of Sustenance, Body Adjustment, Cleanse Body, or even Energy Ray would be great to have. I'm just not seeing the return-on-investment for crafting a dorje. If Connor picks up "Craft Dorje" at 7th Level he'll max out what he can do with the feat pretty quickly with a low Use Magic Device (Use Psionic Device). Scribe Tattoo is much more versatile and useable by everyone, even non-manifesters like Alys (Soulbolt). Another reason for Psychic Reformation at 8th Level, to swap out crafting feats as needed.

In the meantime, Connor's going to concentrate on Psicraft/UPD, not Spellcraft/UMD. Sammark's got an UMD bonus, he has that option.

We get Snowcoat Senior, finish cleaning this underground Halfling city, say our goodbyes to Tenfa and go back to the trading post town, at which point Reaghar can scribe tattoos again and Connor can start crafting power stones every time we have a break. Of course, with only 2-3 days "free" when we get back to Vuomik, that's only 6-8 power stones or tattoos.

Posting this in all my games, both run and played in.

As you all know, I've been rather busy and traveling a lot lately. This is going to continue for awhile. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up the posts. It's now confirmed I'll be going on an overseas job for 6 weeks at the end of August, coming back early October. I will hopefully be able to continue posting, but wanted to give advance warning.

I'll be 11 or 12 hours off my normal schedule, as I'm going literally to the other side of the planet. :) First trip to this area, so I'm not sure what the internet will be like, or even if I can get to Paizo. So if, after I leave, I vanish for a month, please don't give up on me, it just means I coudln't connect due to country filters or something.

Interesting. Kuwait's not a bad place, mdt, as long as you get acclimated to the dry weather. The dust storms will be over with, and the rainy season is starting. I was at Camp Buehring, Udairi, Kuwait. My level of Internet never got over 256k, but maybe the technology is improved on the civilian side. Make sure you take long-duration electrical adapters for "Europe/Middle East" from Radio Shack. Everything is 220v instead of 115v.

I believe Sam had an Energy Ray prepared. Reaghar already shot his ray.

I'm going to back Connor up 5-10 ft to get out of the range of that larger ball of light's negative energy wave. He can't take another hit like that, even with a power stone Vigor. Unless he's making more Astral Constructs Connor's limited to crossbow shots or Energy Splash at range. Energy Splash has ranged touch, not ranged, so a low-roller like me should still be able to hit it.

I'm not sure Alys or Connor can take another hit like before, since the elementals go first. If we both get hit again, even at half points on a successful save both Alys and Connor are going out. I can get the psicrystal to run and touch a tattoo of natural healing on Alys, but I am hoping Selvan can heal Connor.

Either we back up another 10-15 feet (which will put Alys out of range), and let Sam and Reaghar continue to attack, or else Connor puts all five constructs into slamming on the big ball of light.

I didn't see a webmaster response on the messageboards. But that was a long outage. I might want to copy down mdt's e-mail address, just in case. We might need that for a play-by-e-mail if mdt finds out Pazio.com is blocked where he is going.

Nice rush to the back, there, Sam. :) (I know, I know, 'bot-ted action, just kidding.) Which leaves poor Alys at the front if the big ball of light can destroy the astral construct in the way. I'm down to 12 pp, it might be time for the debut of the larger astral constructs. Maybe some mental trauma will help it along. ;)

Now to search the room. If the corpse is Snowcoat Senior, then this could end the dungeon crawl, unless you guys & gal want to go further. I'm interested in that "wall of electricity" at the far end of the room.

I can make an astral construct with energy resistance: electricity 5, put the psicrystal into it, and have it go through the electricity.

On an unrelated note, Wizards of the Coast have removed "The Mind's Eye" from their web pages. Which means "Call Item", a 3.0 power that was web-only and never got translated into Dreamscarred Press, is now gone from reference. (The same with Call Armor, but somehow Change Fate, Combat Transformation, Ectoplasmic Repair, and even Reach made it into Pathfinder/DSP as changed powers and spells.) Which means I'll never be able to choose the power again with future characters, since none of the latest books have it, and I can no longer point to a web reference. I did take the precaution of downloading a PDF version years ago, however. So I'll have to make a note of it on my profile page so mdt can check it when necessary.

Guardians of the Galaxy was shockingly fun to watch. I hadn't expected it to be that good, but it was. :) Tons of one liners that had us all laughing.

Plus it's always funny when Stan Lee's cameo in the credits is 'Old Womanizer' or very close to it. :)

posting this in all 28 of my games (although some of them are dead, i am pretty sure... and others are quite slow so my absence will not be missed overmuch):

There are two hurricanes heading for Hawaii, where I live. One is supposed to land on Friday after being downgraded to a tropical depression, the other is supposed to land Sunday with experts unsure as to how much it'll be downgraded after colliding with the mountains.

I'm sure everything will be fine, so no need to worry. People are freaking out for some reason, but I remain in a state of relative readiness.

I anticipate a loss of internet, at a minimum (they can barely keep it together under optimal conditions). Likely loss of power as well. A time without electricity could last anywhere from four days to four months (with some time around one to two weeks being more realistic).

I'll be on between now and then, but if i just disappear, check the news, hahaha.

Yeah, used to live in Louisiana. Hurricanes suck, but as long as they're not Katrina or bigger you're fine, almost certainly. Just infrastructure issues.

Didn't know that about Hawaii, Reaghar/Tenro. Here in central NC, USA, the last "bad weather" was the March 2014 ice storm that I'm still cleaning tree branches from. My neighbors are cutting down trees too close to their houses this summer. Everything's relative.
