Tempest Oracle

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

I'd like to note that Tempest Oracle now have another spell they can use to get their bonus electrical damage
Briny Bolt. Unfrotunately it is arcane/primal and on no deity list yet. So you can only get it via human or elf ancestry feats at the moment.

it's pretty good though, decent damage for a blind on success. at the very least it's a flat-footed vs everything till they act and if they dont also want to deal with the miss chance they have to spend an extra action.

Briny bolt has the same issue as Hydraulic push, the extra effect for crit is 2d6 and dazzled, most single target spells are just double damage on crit. At lower levels this isn't much of an issue, but at higher levels the difference is huge. A similar spell, spell attack Horizon Thunder Sphere also adds dazzled on a crit, but is also double damage and has some other few possible effects.

Not sure if the Tempest Oracle would improve much with the addition of Briny bolt.

It's not interesting for a Tempest Oracle (mostly because it's way too hard to get access to it). But for Arcane/Primal casters, it's really nice. If you play in a party with some accuracy boost (Bard, trip martial) the expected damage should be rather high. And the Blinded effect is nice, too, on a spell that doesn't need it. I'm just surprised it's not Uncommon considering that it comes from an AP...
