Vampire the Masquerade: DMV Nights Recruitment!

Recruitment

51 to 100 of 114 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

So I didn't hear back, but I wanted to get this submission in before you closed it.

Here is MisterLurch's submission. A mystery rolled up into a Caitiff.

This is just the mechanics, I am still mid-typing on the background and questions stuff.

EDIT: If you rather not deal with the amnesia idea, I can switch back to the FoS, which is mostly ready to go.

The anticipation is killing me!

With Sunday gone, now it comes the wait! Crossing my fingers as there's an eternity since I played VtM the last time. :)

Everyone, thanks to health reasons, I am going to bow out.
Good luck to all and have fun.

Just checking in to see how's the deliberating going?

Any update on this?

I always miss these Vampire Recruitments ;-(

To be fair, it might have missed all of us!

Scarab Sages

Anyone tried pming the gm?

Not as of yet.

Hopefully they just got sidetracked as opposed to having something unpleasant happen.

I can't tell if there are 5 or 6 submissions. I'd throw my hat in for that 6th if the ST ever pops back in.

I'd submit a Ventrue.

Storyteller Shadow, mebbe you could just put one up anyways, since there wasn't any GM choosing on the matter yet?

That being said, there's an interest check out there for an Exalted 2e game that recently came up, if you'd wanna check that out. Now I knows that ain't really the same as a Vampire game but it does sorta use a familiar ruleset...

PS. Apologies in advance for the slight derail. ;)

Eh, if the ST is gone gone that's 30 minutes of my life I won't get back and I'm not getting any younger!

I will pass on Exalted 2E. Much preferred 1E and I have no 2E books.

yeah, i had also assumed the ST had picked players already and i missed this. i'll throw up an application in case the ST returns if someone wouldn't mind summarizing what applications there already are.

Ok I want to try this one more time so I think we lost the gm to this. I am willing to run a Minneapolis by Night v20 game. I will take six players total:.

A few things to know: I will post once a day except on weekends. If something in life comes up I will let you know and I ask the same. Please don't join if you plan on not seeing it through.

A few rule changes: if you want to spend background on generation it will cost 3 pts to get from 10 to 9, and 5 pts to get from 9 to 8. You may use freebie pts.

If you are brave and take unknown sire I have a surprise for you in game.

Minnesota is a new state since the 1850's the first kindred arrived to find it dominated by werewolves. It was a long bloody battle athat ended with a truce. If you are inside the loop of 494/694/94 around the cities of st paul and mpls you are in treaty ground that belongs to kindred. You step outside of that...

The cities are run by a Gangrel princess and split into districts run by various clans.

Want to know more, have city lore mpls/st paul and kindred lore. No vampire created will be from the cities. It is a place of opportunity for kindred even now, a frontier to make a name and gain resources. If you want local resources you need a compelling story.

That is all for now.

In light of the status of the game this recruitment was for, I'm up for your game.

1) What is the timeframe? Current day? 90s?
2) I like a challenge - I'll take you up on the unknown sire. I trust that makes me Caitiff?

Timeframe I will keep 1985 because I like the 80s. The unknown sire does not restrict clan or generation

Also I will be doing a prelude for each player to get you to the city and please note any merit or flaw over three should be someplace in your background with something like interesting/compelling

Any clan restrictions in general?

Camarilla would be fabulous thanks, or again show me a great story and we will talk

Certainly interested.

Will begin looking at a concept, does the Unknown Sire mean "Clan" Caitiff?

What is v20? is that just d20 vampire?

v20 is the 20th anniversary release of the game back in 2011. Mechanics are mostly the same.

I have listed some of the pertinent changes from Revised here.

unknown sire can be any camarilla clan

ah .. okay

i am in!

Ooooh I'm interested in this.

Take a look at my prelude and let me know if it fits with your setting.

Alrighty then, I'm game.

Will whip something up tomorrow. I am running a Chicago table top game right now so I might tie my guy to the windy city before I head on over to Minneapolis.

Have not played Ventrue in a while so will probably go in that direction.

Wouldn't be the first time somebody visited from Chicago to the Twin cities. White Bear Lake had quite the summer home for gangsters related to Mr. Capone

I will have to modify my freebies spending, because of your generation rules. But otherwise it should be mostly okay.

The reason for the generation rules is simple, not as many elder vampires in Minnesota due to risk and reward ratio. People can still have it if they want it but it costs a bit more...

I am not complaining, just identifying changes I know I need to make.

I think Vinny is still up to code? Should be anyway! Very glad that something is coming of this!

Vinny you are good also roll a d 10 +1 for current blood pool (everyone can do that

I will voice interest.

One more thing for us all. Since we have had a wait, if you all can get characters done and I can review it quickly we can move to the game with swift regard

I'll try and get my submission together tonight. Still bouncing two ideas around. Either a Toreador musician or a Tremere embraced without the cup who is practically an anarch.

BY PERCY SHELLEY

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Think I'll go with the Tremere. All the more mysterious for taking the bait of unknown sire.

Standard 7/5/3, 13/9/5, 5 Background, 3 Disipline, 7 Virtue, 15 Freebie character, right? (With the noted exception of the generation rules and backstory requirement for any merit/flaw over 3)

A Tremere with unknown Sire IS much more interesting than a Ventrue with an unknown sire. I'll opt out of the Unknown Sire angle. Will send along my background for approval Edelsmirge. Once that's approved I already am statted up and can post that Avatar quick enough.

Tal, those are the numbers I used.

Starting Blood: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Starting Blood 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Here's Talomyr's submission, Michael Halifax of Clan Tremere.

Lauren Rae should be ready! Just your normal, everyday Malkavian-who-talks-to-dead-people. I kept the background (fairly) short (and open) but am happy to embellish it!

Blood: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Michael your story is good, can you add something to the background on the three point flaw?

Edelsmirge wrote:

I can flesh it out more. It is there already (see religious parents and thus religious upbringing).

Lauren that is a great story background. Can you please add a bit more on the merits/flaws over three points into the background.

Michael, I am all good with that religious angle, I just missed putting two plus two together on the first read lol

Blood?: 1d10 ⇒ 8

Huh! Guess Vin ate recently! If I hadn't already worked on sire stuff, I definitely would have been interested in Storyteller surprises, I love GM surprises.

Do you have your 6 players, ST?
