Actionable Remaster Updates?

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

What updates are there that could be used immediately?

As far as I know Wizards getting Simple Weapon Proficiency & Bards and Rogues getting martial weapon proficiency could be implemented right away, though the martial bard Muse would need something. I don't have a martial bard in my upcoming game though, so that isnt an issue.

Wayfinders

Removing the open trait from fighter (and I think ranger?) feats - though apparently it might be retained on a few of them, as an explicitly written-out requirement.

Flails and hammers now require a save for their crit spec effects, in line with other weapon groups.

Liberty's Edge

Half-elves and Half-orcs as Versatile Heritage seem pretty easy.

Creating a Half-anything stop-gap Heritage is not difficult either.

Ditching alignment is also pretty easy to do. There's some edge cases with applying spiritual damage to navigate (like Divine Wrath suddenly posing more danger to allies). My work around is a Sanctify ritual that lets a non-divine class become beholden to a deity's edicts and anethema to grant them immunity to either holy or unholy damage, but I haven't fully thought it through yet.

You can also remove some of the Hunt Prey requirements. If there is a feat that a ranger needs to have hunted prey with, but another class doesn't, then lop off that requirement.

It's possible we lack critical information about the focus point recovery change, but that's also pretty trivial to implement today.

We're missing information on what kind of feat and what level the "refocus fully in 10 minutes" feat is, replacing the 12th and 18th level class feats that combine to do this.

It's possible a player would want the "triple speed refocus" feat (or would if it's a general feat, or a class feat of a less competitive spot) but if nobody does then it makes no difference.

I'd say what we are really lacking are frames of reference for any rebalancing happening around that change. For example, oracles and psychics will both need new edges to make up for everyone else getting what used to be unique perks. And the impact between having a good focus spell and a bad one will also increase, so hopefully we will see a lot of bad focus spells get a punch up.

Another cook of Exploration Mode with specific “free” boons for each Tactic (not just Avoid Notice, Defend, Search, and Scout).

Like, if I am Investigating as we transition to Encounter Mode, can I get a bonus to Recall Knowledge? (etc)

I think you're in the wrong thread. This is "confirmed changes you can use now without waiting". Good suggestion, though.
