Anyone NOT using Doomsday Dawn to test?

General Discussion

Just what it says. Besides Doomsday what else are you using to test PF2?

I'm going to run some custom games that are more like our normal games just to get a sense of how much PF2 works for what we tend to do. I think the plan is to take turns running Doomsday Dawn so everybody gets to play.

I have Dungeon Module X2 'Castle Amber'on deck and was planning on taking my group through with the play test rules. The new Bestairy format is going to make for an easy conversion.

My idea is to just homebrew some short scenarios and give the players a level each session. Because what I want to test is what the levelling experience is like: is it fun for the players to improve their characters?

depends on how much time we will spend on it.
the plan right now is running through DD once and than through selected portions of that again with PF1 characters using PF1 rules, to see how easy conversion will be.
After that there might be plans for homebrew one shots to test out spefics which are not adressed in DD, but that depends on a) time and b) the will to go further

I'm running an archipelago game that's basically Moana meets Monster Hunter. I want to playtest the water rules, and how big monsters play.

My group is near the beginning of an extensive homebrew campaign. The plan is to spend our next session recreating our existing characters within the playtest rules, and going from there.

I'm going to be running Doomsday Dawn as soon as my levels 1 to 20 5e game wraps up (should do so in the next two weeks). I like some of the ideas, it's good for feedback, and it'll just be really nice to have a break from homebrewing an entire setting and never getting down to writing it all down.

Afterwards, and depending on the state my players leave the world in, I'll be porting my setting over approx 25,000 years in the future of my 5e campaign, heavily changed thanks to some likely planar shenanigans and the players being literally chosen by the gods by this point. While I'm running doomsday dawn, I plan on porting my pantheon over.

I plan on running the playtest scenarios first, both to get a handle on the system and to get the most useful playtest feedback done first. After that I will definitely be running a home game with the playtest rules, and I will endeavor to not add to or change any of the rules to keep it as close to useful feedback as possible. Only once the feedback is closed will I actually start homebrewing stuff that I want (like a Grenadier option for Alchemist, dang it!)

I have some super cool items I plan on homebrewing when feedback ends that I shan't mention here lest my players are peeking.
