Attacking Haven with 21.800.000 gp

Advice

As crazy as it sounds , my character and his other 4 friends all of them lvl 15 have decided to make a huge incursion on a Neutral Good plane.

We managed to get 21.800.000 gp in order to make the attack.

So, how would you spend that crazy amount of money?
I'm a Blaster Sorcerer with some enchantment tricks , there is a u.rogue (two weapon fighting), a winter witch , an alchemist(bombs) and maybe a summoner.

I had 1 year (in game) to prepare all of it.

Get crazy
The GM said that is gonna be difficult, we are all super exited hahaha
Probably the boss is a CR20-25

Thanks in advance. :)

What's the goal here? Do you want to invade and occupy an area of Heaven, or is it just your adventuring party that will be going around murder-hoboing?

Either way there are a few items you'll definitely want starting with truesight goggles. You'll also want current maps and as much info on the powers of the area as you can get. Beyond those it depends more on whether you want or need an army.

I don't really have any advice for this, except to say I can't see this working out well. Making an attack on Heaven is a good way to get Nirvana and Elysium involved as well. And possibly Axis.

Btw, Heaven is lawful good while Nirvana is the neutral good plane.

Making a concentrated attack on one the good planes is probably enough to get other aligned planes involved, if only because they wouldn't want to see their allies eliminated.

Going around causing random destruction probably isn't a worthwhile endeavor. You really need to have a specific goal in mind, what's yours?

Also, you probably want to try to make a deal with denizens of the Abyss or Abaddon, as this is something thy would be interested in doing. Ultimately, you need an army for something like this. If nothing else numbers would overwhelm you. And remember, that deities on their plane have virtually unlimited power. They can eject you from their planes just by wishing to do so. They can alter the plane and you at will.

Quote:
Divinely Morphic: Specific unique beings (deities or similar great powers) have the ability to alter objects, creatures, and the landscape on planes with this trait. They may cause these areas to change instantly and dramatically, creating great kingdoms for themselves. Ordinary characters find these planes similar to alterable planes in that they may be affected by spells and physical effort.

Heaven is the LG plane as Claxon said.

And that makes it the place with unlimited lantern archons.

So... good luck with that.

You've got 21 Million to play with?

I recommend looking into boosting your firepower with Trompe L'Oeil's of yourselves and Simulacra. Go in with an Army of Yourselves - will not only vastly boost your firepower, but also make for hundreds of decoys so the main PC's can strike at, what is hopefully, a primary target for the incursion.

As you build your army of constructs, put those to work creating all sorts of disposable firepower (Explosive Runes satchel charges, Glyph of Warding bombs, whatever).

Ok so here's the plan, you're guys buy themselves tickets to Hell. Scratch that, first get the best law firm in Cheliax on retainer, then have those lawyers buy tickets for you (and make sure they're two way tickets).
Now that you're in Hell you're gonna want to talk to someone about a small construction project. I don't know how literal this is but Phlegethon is called "the Forge of Hell" so thats probably a good place to start.
What you're going to want is something that f&!$s with the river of souls.
Specifically, you'll want something that you can insert into the flow after the souls have been judged but before they go on to either Heaven or Nirvana, which ever place you're going.
Now, this machine needs to do two things. First, it needs to siphon off souls to be routed into Hell to help pay the devils for their work so they're less inclined to demand your partys souls as payment. Second, it needs to poison the souls going to the destination plane in order to start corrupting the plane and make it more easy to attack.
Now you're gonna need an army. You're probably going to want to go to Dis for one of those, and bring a bunch of those souls you've been stealing.
Keep that army in your back pocket for a second cause you've got gone more stop to make. This time you're going to Axis. Specifically you need to go to the shady part of Axis and find some hags selling souls cause (not to stereotype hags [he said right before he stereotyped hags]) but they probably stole those souls from the river of souls. Make contact with as many hags as you can and get them ready for some large scale action.
Now, you have all the pieces in place you start off by getting the machine in place and having the hags start ramping up their soul stealing. The point here to to get the hags to get Pharasma's people looking at them so they don't notice the machine.
Once the machine has done "enough" work (whatever that means in this case), you get your devils into gear and have them attack. I don't know what you want to accomplish here, but whatever it is you have a s+&% load of devils running interference for you. Depending on the ultimate goal you may want to have the devils attack the plane next door to pull resources from the target plane away.
After that... well even if you managed to contract the services of Hell without spending your own soul in the process it doesn't really matter cause that's where your probably gonna end up after this anyway.

Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that no small amount of this idea was inspired by the Pathfinder Novels Death's Heritic and The Redemption Engine by Paizo's own James L. Sutter

I recommend your first purchase being a burial plot.

Buy every diamond in the world and build them all into a tank which will be named "Too Big To Fail." The tank is rigged with a bag of holding/portable hole failsafe self destruct. If they attack your tank, they'll destabilize the resurrection economy and send the upper planes into recession.

What is "Haven"?

I think it's the name of a small farm in Nirvana. They grow amazing tomatoes.

I can understand the adventuring party wanting to attack it. I guess the question is, do you want to control the tomatoes for yourself or are you just trying to destroy them?

Assaulting tne celestial realms to control the tomato market. This is what those 20th level commoners do for the end game.

Okei , The mission is to rescue a beloved one from the most top level , highest security prison in the plane

So it's a "stealth" mission somehow , not going murder hobos, at least not before we got my Sensei

Might I recommend diplomatically dealing with the forces of Heaven then? Unless you and your sensei are irredeemably evil, there are probably a set of conditions that Heaven would agree to that would ensure the release of the person without you needing to fight them.

For instance, giving them the almost 22 million gold would probably go a long way for whatever more important things Heaven has going on.

And if your sensei is irredeemably evil...well honestly I would have expected for Heaven to have destroyed the soul. Not just killed them, but destroyed the soul. No need to feed the evil planes souls.

So your plan is to rescue your sensei THEN assault heaven?

Are you and your party good guys or bad guys? Is the sensei a good guy or bad guy? Is he imprisoned in Heaven or Nirvana?

We are pretty much the worst guys(all our missions finish with thousands of deaths a collateral damage, in the last one we blow up a hole city) and the Sensei is theoretically a bad guy too(but not that bad)

Also; it's our last game (we played from 1 to 15)

In the Nirvana

I'm the one who wants to rescue the Sensei , one of the others owns me a favour and there are 3 murder hobos

Well...I'm not your GM so I can't tell you how this would go, but honestly if I were the forces of Heaven I would have destroyed the soul of your sensei already, if they are irredeemably evil.

Just the party, OK. Like I said truesight goggles for a start. If you're trying for stealth then you need a means of stopping teleporting enemies escaping; if you don't have that via spells then you might get phase locking weapons or anchoring bracers or similar. You will very likely want rings of mind shielding too. Boots of planar grounding will stop you being banished from the plane or suffering other effects from being evil on a very good plane.

Aside from that... otherworldly kimonos are generally useful, as are maxed out belts of physical perfection/headbands of mental superiority. I don't know quite how you can usefully spend twenty million gold on this, but if you have someone who can cast greater planar binding it might be useful there. Either for disposable allies or for gathering information.

What if the sensei is redeemable? I mean, all you really need is a Helmet of Opposite Alignment or an Atonement spell.

Huh, that would be a nice plot twist...

I guess my ultimate point here is, I wouldn't expect the sensei to be around in a recognizable state that the OP is familiar with. Whether that means the soul has been destroyed or they've had their alignment forcibly changed or whatever. I wouldn't expect this to be an obtainable objective.

If you're important enough for Heaven to capture and bring there, you're probably too important to risk being allowed to escape and return to enemy hands.

Silver Crusade

The destruction of souls is a very evil thing, according to in-game lore, so I don't think he'd have his soul destroyed. Personally, in a situation like that, if I had to trap said sensei, I would have him turned to stone (so he isn't dead), and Imprisoned, since the odds of someone finding the exact spot of Nirvana to cast Freedom on is highly unlikely. He's removed as a player from the board, and the devils don't have a new powerful soul to play with.

Citation?

Not saying it's not true, I just haven't read it before.

Ok, I've got a new plan. This one is slightly more Oceans 11-esque than my other one. Keep that Chelaxian law firm on retainer for this cause you're going back to Hell.

For this plan, first you'll need a reason to contest the ownership of the soul. Find some contract devils or other bureaucrat devil willing to dig around and find (or fabricate) a reason that the sensei's soul belongs in Hell. If that doesn't work than you'll need to come up with a reason to interrogate the soul. There's some threat that needs a hidden power to defeat and only the sensei knows where it is, that kinda thing. It just needs to look good on an official document.

Now, you're going to need to turn that excuse you found in Hell into some "legitimate" paperwork. You may be able to find someone to do that in Hell but if you can't then its off to the back alleys of Axis to find a forger.

In addition to forged paperwork you're going to need some way to hide that you're "pretty much the worst guys." A suitably high spell caster should be able to make your party some Goody Two-Shoes to cover that up. I recommend that your identities be a group of investigators for Pharasma's Court. I figure people on "official" Pharasmin business will have the best chance of doing this.

Next you'll need something in which to sneak out the imprisoned soul. I figure you can get a high level caster to make some kind of Super Soul Jar or something as well as a suped up Pathfinder Pouch to keep the thing hidden in.

From here there are two options. You can unsubtlety get the soul into the jar and then just fight your way our or try to teleport or whatever.

The other choice is you can get some kind of soul clone to take the place of the sensei. The longer it lasts the better, maybe you could even find someone who sold their soul to Hell who would be willing to swap places with the sensei. I figure Nirvana prison is better than Hell any day. There's some precedent for this sort of thing in the Spiral of Bones comic arc where a Thessalonian wizard uses a soul gem to swap places with Valeros's soul, the later of which goes to be judged in the Boneyard and the psychopomps can't tell the difference.

If you go with the soul clone plan, you'll need something to distract any guards and probably disrupt any monitoring magic while you make the switch. Get something made that's like a Voight-Kampff machine but for souls and then drop it and break it and "oh no, there was a temporary fritz in the security cameras!" but ya know, more magicy.

Then its just a matter of concluding the soul belongs where it is, casually strolling out the way you came in, getting a new body for the sensei's soul, and some super powered magic item to hide him (and probably the rest of you) from the radars of Nirvana and the Boneyard.
