Any way to treat yourself as 1 size smaller?

Rules Questions

I know this is a fool's errand, but I am hoping my search-fu has simply failed me and that there is a positive answer out there.

I have been designing a reduced person halfling build for the last week that utilizes risky striker to max his damage output. I then decided to drop the reduced person side to go for a reach build and realized I had effectively taken risky striker out for the majority of combats.

I know of a couple different ways to be treated as 1 or 2 size categories larger for different effects, but is there any way to be treated as a size category smaller?

Risky Striker
"You can choose to take a –1 penalty to AC to gain a +2 bonus on melee damage rolls against creatures two or more size categories larger than you. When your base attack bonus reaches +4 and every 4 levels thereafter, the penalty increases by –1 and the damage bonus increases by 2. The bonus damage is multiplied in the case of a critical hit. You can only choose to use this feat when you declare that you are making an attack action or a full-attack action with a melee weapon. The effects last until your next turn."

There was a build floating around that used the magic item "the ring of seven lovely colors" that turns you into a tiny raven. It's a fairly inexpensive item, but it is limited to 7 times per day, 10 min. per use.

Try Reduce Person. Note that your weapon goes down a size bracket as well.

I note that Risky Striker appears to be a limited alternate to Power Attack, perhaps you should take that instead? If you take it as well as PA, then your minus's to hit hit start to add up.

The build was originally based on reduce person as I stated in the OP. And yes, Risky Striker is a limited alternative to Power Attack except it stacks with Power Attack. The whole point of this thread is to find out if there is any way to count as a size smaller without actually being a size smaller so there are more opportunities for Risky Striker to be implemented.

Here's the build as it currently stands for Kingmaker(20 point buy).

Fighter(Swordlord)11/Monk(MoMS)1

Traits Sword Scion, Aldori Caution (May take Threatening Defender instead)

STR 21 (16-2Racial+3Stat+4Belt)
DEX 14 (12+2Racial)
CON 12
INT 14
WIS 07
CHA 14 (12+2Racial)

SAVES FORT 11, REF 8, WILL 8

AC 29
Attack +25/20/15 1d6+12

(Fighting Defensively, Combat Expertise, Power Attack, Risky Striker)
AC 41 (46 full attack)
Attack +22/+17/12 1d6+28

Feats
L1 (F) - Power Attack, Risky Striker
L2 (F) - Dodge
L3 (M) - IUS, Stunning Fist, Crane Style, Crane Riposte
L5 (F) - Cautious Fighter, Crane Wing
L7 (F) - Combat Expertise, Combat Reflexes
L9 (F) - Weapon Focus (Dueling Sword), Improved Disarm
L11(F) - Advanced Weapon Training (Armed Bravery), Greater Disarm

Azothath, you are correct. I did not realize my bookmark was set for the rules forum and did not pay attention when I was posting. Sorry.

lol... I lived.
I believe there are 2 traits and maybe 4 feats where you can get bonuses based on opponents size rather than you being smaller (though you must be smaller than your opponent, and the right race).
Polymorphs give bonuses based on target size, which can compound with other spells.
search some databases using some keywords.

While you couldn't do this in PFS, I'm sure a DM would let you get this in small size to make you tiny.
Gown of Graceful Petiteness

ok, this item (the Gown of Graceful Petiteness) came up during play and it raised a possible issue...

other items like this that don't list a duration for an effect have been errata'd or "clarified" to have short duration - normally of the spell it is built off of.

The hat of disguise and ring of invisibility FAQ was mentioned, as well as Mistmail that got nerfed back in 2016...

so, giving it a duration of 1 minute would render it pretty useless... as it takes a minute to don/activate.

Is there an FAQ or anything on duration for the effect?

Isn't there rules for crouching? I could have sworn I seen them somewhere. Something to do with D20 in some way shape or form.

3.0 had them

If the Gown of Graceful Petiteness survived this long without getting nerfed, that means it is what it is. If the banhammer team missed that particular gown on one of their nerfing missions, good.

Use it as-is... don't go looking for nerfs. Who does that?

There's also no need to nerf it, it has a caster level of 1 it's super weak to dispel magic.

Gown of Graceful Petiteness {PFS okay} at AoN, read it closely... very easy to sunder/destroy, all your equip has to be small sized or inapproprite sized weapon etc etc. Honestly a simple Reduce Person is more effective. How long is this fight gonna last?

The FAQ was only for activated abilities, and thus doesn't apply to the gown. There're some nerfs for power level reasons*, mainly for items that were notably underprices, but considering how small the effects of being small are (pun intended), I don't see a reason for that here. Of course, as the item is from a softcover book from 2018, there wasn't really ever a chance for a nerf.

There never was a universal nerf, not even for cheap items, as for example Heavyload Belt and Deathwatch Eyes show.

*) Mistmail provides the effects of a 24k gp item for just over 2k pg, while also taking up a far less valuable item slot. It was clearly never intended to be active all day.
Bracers of Falcon's Aim, one of the most whined about items, was intended as such, but it's notably underpriced, and resulted in every single archery character ever wearing the exact same item. That's terrible design.
