Increasing your size permanently

Advice

Is there any way to have a half-orc barbarian increase his size from large to huge? Without dipping into other classes or taking odd archetypes.

Is there any way to permanently become Large sized without having an enlarge and then permanency spell cast on you?

Pick a card from the harrow deck. Get the Mountain Man card. Beware, not all GM lets you keep it.

I allowed someone to make a ring with Enlarge Person on it permanently.

I don't know if I'd do that again however. But, run it by your DM. I just found it to make the damage race too efficient since he didn't have to prepare for battle and was just always ready/ridiculous.

If you can find someone capable of casting mythic enlarge person, it should be just as subject to permanency as the original (although I could easily see the argument for requiring a mythic variant of permanency to keep the mythic effect). If nobody mythic is around, there's always the Ascendant Spell metamagic feat.

get the simple giant template or become a dire half orc

Ask your DM if you can make it a quest goal.
With the appropriate Knowledge checks, fetch quests, and unique contacts, you could find a way. And have fun doing it.

Simple giant template is cool, could you provide any suggestions on how the giant template could be further balanced when starting the game? Those stats are too strong.

have it cost a level so if the party is lvl 2 you would be level 1, or if it doesn't have to be at the start of the game there could be a long and difficult quest chain to unlock a ritual in which you gain the template

Ya ran it by our GM is appears its still slightly too strong even with the -1 levels penalty. Do you recommend any other ways to nerf it? How could I justify that its balanced I guess I'm trying to say. I'm not sure how the RP system works ie. Human has 9RP, Suli has 16 RP etc. I'm not sure how much a Giant has but if that could be brought in line with the other races such as the Suli it would be very helpful.

each cr of a template is worth about 1 class level so if its a no go from the start ask if you can obtain it via a long quest chain and honestly this specific template is one of the weaker ones(it littlerally only gives a size increase all the stat adjustments are the side effect of being large going from medium to large nets a +8str,-2dex,+4con and +2-3 natural armor) as are most of the simple templates except for advanced which is a little bit more powerful

I see Half Giants are medium sized but would that be a playable race or are they OP also?

you keep calling things op they really aren't half giant is a 3rd party race so you would need dm permission 1st

Sorry my GM referred to it as unbalanced unfortunately

if your starting at level 4 you could play a minotaur

I can give you a strong option but the problem is it doesn't kick in until level 15.

Take the variant multiclass Druid and when you get wildshape at level 15 you can use a mask of giants. This will also get you permanent regeneration.

It will take a lot of your feats but it also gives you an animal companion.

I think a more diplomatic way of handling the situation would simply say that it's a lot harder to get what is essentially a home brew option.

Unlike 3.5 there is no rule for giving templates to a player.

so. without heving permenant enlarge.

some ideas. not all might help, sorry.

taking eldritch heritige greater for both orc and shpacanger will let you use the spell like aiblity of 15t level orc bloodeline to go large for one min per level. and the shapchanger would make it 1 hour per level.
if your not strict on barbarian. going bloodrager shapshifter bloodeline would get you at will greater polymorph at level 20 (but that is only for large elemental, hugh animal or large magical beast. or large plant craeture. and medium dragon)

if you can umd giant shape scrolls etc the greater eldritch eritage of shapesifter willshould work without needing the orc as well.

if not staying stictly on barbarian an oni blooded sorcerer at level 20 get a permanat large giant shape.

the biggeast possible shape(will be using permanent enlarge here)is going with a summoner and ether going for 20 levels to gain the bility to copy the eidolon form and abilities (then picking hugh eidolon form and casting enlarge on him to make him gargentuom thus when u copy it you too become one) or taking the synth archtype and getting all that a lot sooner then level 20 (level 11 i think .depand on evolution cost and restrictions).

It does seem like if the OP's GP said Half Giant is OP, then it is likely that his GM would rule against Minotaur, too. But, it wouldn't hurt to ask.

The Druid Wildshape Ability lasts for hours/level, and by level 8, you can use it 3/day. So that's 24 hours/day. Unless the OP's GM's fantasy world has a different number of hours in his day, that should work. If the character took Shaping Focus, there would be much less need to dip to get the effect you want

If you want to stay Humanoid, then you can be a Goliath Druid.

There is a Prestige Class, Living Monolith, that gives you great ability to Enlarge.

but why would you WANT to be permanently huge? can't enter most dungeons or towns or ships, having to pay ridiculously high prices to have weapons and armor made for you, seems like it would only be worth it if all you ever -EVER- do is fight on wide-open plains, and I've never played in such a campaign.
