So, who has received their Mummy's Mask shipment yet? I'm chomping at the bit here! :)

Also, any word on when we might see character sheets go live?

The earliest we'll see character sheets is the street date. It may take longer since the community team is short-staffed at the moment, so I imagine there is a hefty backlog of stuff to do.

It has arrived, and it is awesome.

Also got mine today. Really tempted to open it, put in a Broken Token insert, and sleeve all the cards

ARGH!!!! Mine is still sitting at "label created" status. The Mummy's Curse strikes already!!!!!

Traders! Tell us about the traders! Or...anything, at this point, really!

Traders:

Spoiler:
Traders give you an option of X+1 boons of their type to choose from, where X is the number of characters visiting that trader. And they have to be from the completed adventure deck number or 1 less than that. But you have to trade them boons with the same deck number restriction. So you can get upgrades, but they won't take just any old pieces of junk.

Other stuff:

Spoiler:
Also, some of the barriers are nasty...if the Toxic Geyser is undefeated, you roll AD#+1 d6s, and for each die you take at least 2 damage (the type of damage varies based on the value of the corresponding die).

Also Ezren is apparently super enthusiastic about exploring these tombs because he can discard spells to explore. He also gets to have non-divine blessings. And play 2 spells on a check. And gain the divine skill when banishing or playing spells.

One of the loot cards is called Game of Afterlife.

Several characters have favored cards that aren't actually card types. Ahmotep's is any card with the staff trait.

Mavaro can end up with 13 items, but he gets to treat weapons, spells, & armor as items when building his deck. Talk about versatility...

I think that's enough spoilers from me...

Mine hasn't left the warehouse yet... I haven't kept up that well on the spoilers, what characters come from the base set?

All that sounds pretty cool Kiya.

Mine hasn't even been charged, got a new card and forgot to update :/

Still waiting on mine to actually be charged too, getting both Mummy's Mask and the Curse of the Crimson Throne limited edition, so I'm anticipating this way more than usual. I blame Cosmo that how soon my order ships and how excited I am about it seem to always be inversely related.

I don't think there can ever be enough spoilers about this :P

Spoiler:

So what is the Miau Pakhet?
And how many non-divine blessings are in the base set?
Looks like Ahmotep is modelled after the archetype staff magus, makes thematically sense.

My departure scan was yesterday, so I expect to get my package early next week. SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!

I'd also like to echo the request for what on earth the Miau Pakhet is. :)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Miau Pakhet:
is a Catfolk Bard Gambling Ally, one of whose powers is like the Blessing of Bastet (recharge to allow a character at your location to reroll one die, or discard to reroll all).

Estra the Spiritualist:
starts with a Loot Ally (she's the owner) who is an Undead Phantom and her Favored Card. You can put it on top of your deck to draw a spell from your discard pile or to add 1d10 + Undead to your Str, Con, or Percep check. And when you would discard him as damage, recharge him instead.

Basic Blessings:
There are two, one being the previously seen BoElements, the other is the Divine BoAncients. It has the standard add a die, can be discarded to examine the top card and then you may explore, and recharges with a Basic blessing on the discards.

Any other specific questions?

Silver Crusade

I got my shipping notice on Wednesday, and picked priority mail this time around. I'm crossing my fingers I get it on Saturday so I can play it on the holiday on Monday, but it probably won't be til Tuesday.

Thanks for the answers, in the first place!

The distribution of the arcane and divine skill pre-role might be interesting.

What happens to estras ally when it would be banished?

Also, the question regarding the blessings was actually about which blessings are lacking the divine trait, but thanks for the heads up on the BotA.

I would love to know how Mavaro's powers ended up working. I enjoyed using him during playtesting.

Why yes...

Question about Basic Blessings:
In the Demo, the BotA didn't just let you EXPLORE, but required you to EXAMINE the top card of your location deck before encountering it, thus tripping triggers. Is that still the case?

Are there rules in the rulebook regarding specific subset favored cards when they don't exist in the deck (ie the Staff Magus didn't have a staff weapon for whatever reason)? I remember I did something similar in that I had a character who's favored card type was two weapons (she dual wielded), but I got around that by ensuring that her card feats lined up in such a way that she would always have to have two weapons in one hand before she fully cycled through her initial deck draw. If you can just straight not have a matching card, there has to be some rule or you literally cannot start the game.

I'm not usually among the first to get orders (and I use the cheapest shipping method!) so I'm excited to be able have this role for a change.

Neat packaging thing they did:
They didn't pack the cards as usual. One pack is pretty much all you need to demo the game. They put four 13-card character decks, four locations, a 12-card blessing deck, and some banes and boons to quickly set-up and run a demo-sized version of the first scenario.

The B Adventure:
is officially part of the Adventure Path.

Arcane & Divine skills:
Arcane: Wizard, Magus, Tup (though I suppose he's technically the RotR Goblin, so where' the MM Goblin?). Divine: Cleric, Druid, Spiritualist, Oracle. Role: One Occultist role may gain Arcane then Divine. One Rogue role may gain Arcane.

Honaire (Estra's ally):
has no banish-related power, so I assume it goes back to the box and may be regained if there aren't enough allies at the end of the scenario (Estra always, anyone else after starting deck 3

Sandstorm Villain:
There are 6, which implies A Sandstorm of Malevolent Will replaces each of the four blessings with a villain.

Blessing of the Ancients:
does retain the power to examine and then you may explore, thus tripping triggers.

Bunyip:
Quicksand Bunyip! With a trigger - discard bludgeoning/liquid or take 1d4 electricity damage, then shuffle into deck (may not be reduced). But no mental damage or wisdom check.

Basic Blessings and Divine:
Only Elements lacks Divine.

I didn't see anything about that in the rule book, but I was mostly scanning for new things, not reading in depth. There were fewer "new rules" boxes than I expected, but I think I said the same thing after the last two... I think the favored card type thing is more of an implied rule, based on the obvious way to build a character. Ezren wants cards with the attack trait. If you manage to build an Ezren without any attack cards (spells, items, etc, though I think it's mostly if not entirely those 2 types), you're going to have more issues than just the favored card type.

doppelschwert wrote:

Again, nothing in the rule book about this, but they did print the cohort rules about encountering & banishing in the rule book (specifically calling out that there are no cohorts included in MM, but they can be found in WotR & class decks), and they avoided making Honaire a cohort. So my intuition would be that he can still be subbed in as a basic ally for Estra, because she can't build a valid deck without him.

Blessings:

Spoiler:
As for non-divine blessings (assuming I can count correctly before my morning tea), there are 16 in the base set, all Blessing of the Elements. There are 45 divine blessings (16 Blessing of the Ancients [which does require you to examine then explore], 4 each of Abadar, Bastet, Horus, Nethys, Pharasma, Ra, & Wadjet). The add on deck has 1 of each blessing.

As a side note, if any one is curious about the demos they ran at GenCon & Pax West, the quick start guide is exactly that. I love the idea of making a quick start guide for this game, and the pre-sorted cards so new players can literally just jump right in is brilliant.

Starting hands:
in the rules reads exactly as in WotR, meaning that yes, if you don't keep at least one staff as the Magus, you cannot start the game. So don't do that.

Mavaro's starting powers:
You may discard a card to add 1 die to your check ([feat] or a check by another character at your location) to acquire a weapon, an armor, or an item.

You may display a card to gain all skills listed on the check to acquire for that card equal to your Intelligence until the end of the turn. ([feat] You may also add any of that card's traits to your checks during this turn.) At the end of the turn, recharge the displayed cards.

Maybe we should just make a thread that says "SPOILERS" in the title instead of adding a million spoiler boxes?

Estra:
Does anything tell you that she starts with Honaire in her deck other than the fact that she is the owner? Is there a power that states as much?

Estra's Husband:
I remember from the demo, Estra has a sentence below her deck list telling you to add the loot ally Honaire when building your deck. (btw, the "e" on the end is not silent. Long E. That was official at PaizoCon.)

What Theryon remembers has remained.

Estra continued:
That seems to me to mean that even if you banish it, you get it back when building your deck again (i.e. rebuilding) after the scenario. Seems like that has any issues of her banishing it covered.

Estra:
It does say when building, not when rebuilding, but if rebuilding is not included as building then you can make her unplayable, so it seems likely that she can always get him back.

Thanks. I've continued my Estra discussion over there. Now, to go click refresh on that UPS tracking page.

Well, we are allowed to have them, but the shipping would be much more expensive. My local retailer doesn't think the base set I preordered through him would be here before november.

On the bright side, the people in the US are playtesting for us and getting the FAQ and the character sheets set up for when we want to start, which is something.

I haven't received my Character Add-On Deck either, but I did receive the Base Set. Are we supposed to get the Base Set and the Character Add-On Deck together? Some people got both it seems.

I did receive 4 promo cards: Tup, Miau Pahket, Reta Bigbad, Goblin Golem, which people have said come from the Character Add-On Deck (that I don't have) and not the Base Set?

Silver Crusade

Mine shipped in two separate packages. I got notices for both of them. My add-on deck arrived today.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, PF Special Edition, Starfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Mine is shipping in a single package, but on top of the base set and character add-on I'm also getting a hardcover book, a map pack, a flip-mat, and a 64-page softcover book. I'm guessing the extras made it cheaper to ship in a single box instead of multiple packages for me, which may not be the case if you were only getting the base set and add-on deck (shipping is weird, and it may have actually been slightly cheaper to send them out separately in that case).

Tracking says October 12, maybe if I refresh enough it'll be sooner...

Mine came in a single box which contained the base set, character addon and the summoner class deck.

Paizo determines the cheapest way to ship the products to you, taking your shipping method in mind. So, if it is cheaper to send them in two separate packages as opposed to one, that is what they will do.

The promos are associated with the character add-on deck. Meaning if your subscription contains the character add-on deck, you will receive them. That doesn't mean they will necessarily put them in the same box as the character add-on deck if your order is broken up into multiple packages.

Yep.

They said 1 to 7 business days to ship on a Friday, so I won't transfer my crybaby hissyfit to Customer support 'til COB tomorrow (since Monday wasn't a business day for Paizo).

For those of us living far away, one nice way to have us be patient while shipping does its non trackable things would be to post the rules so we can enjoy them, as well as the cards lists and character cards. Since anyway most of it will end up be known or spoiled soon anyway... This way we could participate in the debates with those lucky ones who have the box, and emplify the buzz.
Just saying...
Please nice mister Vic... could you... ;-)

Scarab Sages

If I have time I'll post a "first impressions" post in the spoilers thread. I doubt I'll actually have time to play until later this week, though - trying to get a Heggal up to snuff for some organized play on Saturday.

Thx Calthaer

I'm a new subscriber, I discovered Rise of the Runelords a few months ago and absolutely love this game. Really excited to get more involved in the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game community.

I was just curious too, I have a confirmation that my game is shipping along with 4 other items (promo cards) but no mention of the Character deck. Any thoughts on this, as a new subscriber, just wondering if I have to wait till next month or will I be surprised and will it show up with my base set?

To be safe, contact customer service. Yours sounds like it might be like Junon's issue. Junon's was a glitch and they shipped him the character add-on deck since it was left out.

Grand Lodge

They also have sent items separately for some folks, so this may be perfectly normal.

Also, my shipping email arrived! Hissyfit... AVERTED!

Mine arrives tomorrow according to ups. I'm so freaking excited.
