Paying for the sybaritic excess of my cruise. Sunday morning on the Stairmaster. With the shift to fall my peasant body is now attempting to go into fat storage mode

Goood morning Treefortnam!!

Another morning another session on the Stairmaster

Mondays are a delight.

Why?

Because we are alive, the blood courses through our veins, potentialities spread out before us in a quilt of wonder.

Every day is a Monday. Every day is a Saturday. Every day is its own unique wonderful day.

That's okay, I'm the Slaad of tasting like s%+# and incontinence.

It's my fault for being late to the slaad party.

I stand alone in my love for the traditional ambrosia salad. My mom used to make it for holidays and I'd eat it like it was the air I needed to survive. I would even slather it on slices of turkey. Yes. I'm that guy.

Not a fantastic Monday, as days go, but some ugly business put past me, and the future looks better for it.

For a certain Treeforter out there mourning right now, you have my condolences. I have walked that path of grief far too often these past few years. Stay strong, good days are coming.

Okay well next time I know to not have you bring anything for a potluck...

But thanks!

Also, rainy, rainy, rainy Monday.

RIP Sunny. You were such a good boy and a good friend to me, my wife, her BF, and all the dogs. You will be missed. I love you my little face licker. May you be in a better place, Biscuit # 3. Biscuits # 1, 2, and 4 will miss you. I know I will.

Sunny died at around 7:30 am on Monday, 9-24-2018. The vet tried their best to save him.

Edit - Sunny was a 20 pound tanish dachshund mix who was around 4 or 5 years old.

On the plus side, We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis Taylor has been a very fun book so far. I am looking forward to reading the other two books in the series.

Tuesday. I’m feeling very rested today. Taking care of the issue that had loomed over my peace of mind for these past few months finally has cleared up my subconscious anxiety nicely. It’s amazing how just facing an ugly situation and dealing with it can be so cathartic.

Life is a learning process

Oh, I am so sorry.

This really hasn't been a good year for dogs, has it?

Today is the last Tuesday before I turn 51.

On a related note there are only 31 shopping days left until my 55th birthday.

So, October 26th?

Yep. I'm still trying to organize a parade after all these years... LOL

Go big or go home! I vote parade!

This year for my birthday I’m going for a parade of drinks down my gullet. I think I’m buying myself a trip to Seattle for my birthday as well, to hang with the folks who go. Since my birthday is conveniently the week prior to Memorial Day Weekend.

I’m not sure but I might actually try and go out a few days earlier just to knock around Washington State a bit. PaizoCon is great, but I’d like to see more of Seattle and the surrounding area

I used to live there, if you want nature I can recommend some parks.

I have a friend there who marches in protests. I'm sure she could find one to fit ya.

Sharoh,

You have my sympathies. Also not sure 2018 is a bad year for dogs...but it's been much worse for cars for me.

It's also only less than two weeks before WV hosts Bridge Day.

Always up for native recommendations. Post away!

Nah. I’ve got plenty of protests to choose from in DC. Great for people watching

Very dark humor leavened with inanity and drunkenness. Some of the tightest writing on a cartoon show I’ve ever seen, since probably early South Park or Simpsons. Rick and Morty can give it a run as well. Great stuff

I’m already done with the season and I’m trying to figure out this other Netflix show Maniac. Super trippy and convoluted. It like if Twin Peaks and Inception got drunk and had a kid together.

Ugh. I've been up all night with a headache. It's 7:40 am now. I'm starting to get delirious.

See, that sounds like something I might have to actually binge. ;P

Thanks for the notice! :)

Is it a migraine? Did you take pills for it?

It's not quite a migraine, I think. Just a terrible headache. I do get migraines but they're pretty infrequent nowadays (thank goodness). I used to have them so bad I'd be blind for part of the duration. I don't take anything especially for them, though.

Feeling better now?

Ibuprofen works best on my headaches, Tylenol does nothing.

I'm feeling a bit better, but have only had an hour of sleep. I can't take Ibuprofen anymore because of serious interactions with my heart meds. So it's pretty much Tylenol or my other pain meds which aren't really that helpful against headaches.

If you want to cool down I recommend Ravenna park in the U district, it has this big ravine that you can walk on the bottom of and it's ten degrees cooler then everywhere else because of all the foliage, and it's where everyone Larps. :-)

The UW arboretum is spectacular, especially in the spring, it has a magnolia tree that was gifted to them by Japan a hundred some years ago, the blooms are as big as your head, it's amazing!

The Fremont Troll underneath the Aurora Ave bridge, I'm sure if you google it you'll find the street.

There's a few more (Seattle is packed with parks) but I'll have to look at a map as it's been 13 years since we left (we moved back to Wisconsin so my mom could spend time with her only grand daughter before she went blind, but good news she had a cornea transplant and had 20 more years of vision).

Top tier cast too. Emma Stone, Jonah Hill, and they put a lot of people in it I had to go IMDB to remember who they were (remember the secretary who rhymed all the time in Moonlighting?)

I haz internet again on my computer. The ethernet cord got cut (long and boring story), but I was given a wireless adapter. It should do for now until I have the energy to string up a new ethernet cord.
