The kitten Aria is growing like a weed. She was 4oz when we rescued her about 3 weeks ago and is now over a pound!

She is a ball of energy. When we first got her, you could set her on the floor and leave the room, and she’d be right where you left her when you got back. Now you can’t even turn your back on her or she will take off.

Does she need a friend? Because we've still got a few just hanging around in our house.

So here's a story for you: If you're going to take your mom to see the orthopedic specialist, make sure a) you are both talking about the same Town center place and b) DO NOT TAKE THE INTERSTATE TO GET THERE!

Almost 3 hours man sitting in traffic because some dumb people can't drive.

Plus side was we did get to the store and take care of my car today. So hopefully I can drive it instead of my mom's. It's not that I don't like hers...but it is hers and not mine.

Also I'm hopeful that when October arrives, I'll be more rested. I need darkness. :p :)

Darkness soothes me like nothing else can.

Good morning, good morning!

What a wonderful morning!

Go forth and enjoy today. For it will never be here again.

Congratulations on the raise! It's always nice when hard work is appreciated!

Thanks CY!

I’m thinking of a long-needed computer upgrade. I’m enamored of multiple screens after dealing with them at work, so I am thinking a mid-price laptop, a dock system for easy removal, a nice keyboard, and a triple screen setup so I can string out my various gaming docs while working

Happy Thursday right back!!

Good news! I don't need to get a new alternator for my car! Turns out the connections on the battery were VERY loose.

Bad news: One of my tires is almost wore to a nub.

Good news: I'm still under warranty for the tires and Good year knows me.

Bad news: I need an alignment along with a new tire and the alignment tech is on vacation for a week...

So overall, my car works, the tire went from the front passenger side to the back passenger side and hopefully the back tire that was there will hold up until they can call me about getting me in to replace and get a new alignment. But hey, at least the alignment is free!

Happy Friday Treeforters!

Up and off trying to train up an extra strength point. Just leveled up after all!

Had an excellent one year anniversary party yesterday At work. Office work is such the fun!

Excited to renew my subs, at least some of them. I miss my charter tag, but it is what it is. I’m just happy I got past this first hurdle and I can now (or in October) afford extras.

Although speaking of extras, next week I head to the Carribean. In the vein of making the impossible possible i scrimped and saved since January, selling off my massive RPG collection, eating ramen, and now I am headed off on a cruise ship. Pirate adventure ahoy!

Who Cares?!?

It's got Pirates AND Monkeys! :D

Have FUN Monkey-Pirate-man! (Or Pirate-Monkey-Man, Either way.) ;P

Oh man, I havent been on a cruise since WAY back in my senior year of High School. :P

WHen I went, the boat I was on was the biggest in the cruise line's fleet.

That boat is still in service today,
as their SMALLEST training vessel!
:P

Internal auditor is back.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Yeah the sh!ts crazy.

Not my preferred vacation, but it keeps the GF happy

Plus I’ve never been to the Carribean before

A boat is a small vessel carried in a ship. :-)

I dunno. A cruise might be fun, in the right circumstances. OTOH I spent about half my Navy career at sea, so maybe not. Anyway, enjoy, Monkey! :-)

At least I won’t be hotswitching my rack and pulling KP. So there’s that.

I kind of wish I’d done the Navy/Marine thing rather than the Army because you got to see more places. Of course, most the time you were cooped up in the boat going to those places. Plus I would likely just get sh!ttoed in those exotic ports.

I thoroughly enjoyed the one cruise I've been on - my honeymoon. We left out of New Orleans, sailed down to Costa Maya (where, if I recall correctly, we visited some ruins), then up to Cozumel (submarine!), then back. It was a blast. The food was great.

I've been actually meaning to discuss with the wife the idea of taking the kids on a Disney cruise. Might be cool.

There's a Harry Potter cruise coming next year.

I've always wanted to go on a cruise to experience one, but I imagine that would be plenty for me. I do know someone who goes a cruise with his wife once a year.

This one is a Disney Cruise. A Halloween Disney Cruise. So there’s that. Sadly I don’t expect it to be scary. But I do expect a lot of alcohol to be drunk

Am I hallucinating or does the forum now fit in a mobile phone different?

Bubby! I love you! Don't be that way! I have a special spot saved for you in the Trigonometry room in Hell! You're gonna love it, it's right next to the Zuckerberg memorial and Wheedon memorial rooms! Buffy the Vampire Slayer 24/7 bubby!

Sharoh,

That was not even worth a rimshot...

So far so good for today. Hopefully mom will be back to herself by October. The orthopedic specialist didn't see the need for a special sling or a cast. Nor did he require to break her bone again to make sure it healed properly. So now it's just rest, not moving/lifting much with her left arm, and then off she goes...

And I just wait. :p

Happy Saturday!

My 5e gaming group took down a mind flayer elder brain last night. I’m still not sure how. We do have the 5e version of a gunslinger in the party, and he does ridiculous amounts of damage. Of course he also precipitated the fight by concluding the elder brain(who was communicating with us) wasn’t going to let us leave and filling it full of lead.

Tomorrow is Starfinder day with some of the OG FAWTL crew. I’m playing Obozaya, the iconic Vesk, who is developing into an impulsive, crude, Veskocentric damage dealer.

Oh and I forgot, my 5e Strahd game is rolling out to take on the big guy hisself Sunday night

Let me know if he's tougher than the one in 1st edition's Castle Ravenloft.

Never faced him in 1e. But we’ll see how things go this round. My pally is thirsting for vampire destruction

Happy Sunday! Readying to smack down some generic-brand aliens and their gross space impregnating attacks. Looking for another weapon or two to add to my burgeoning arsenal. Protecting all the squishy egg suckers and bugs in my party.

Are you playing Starfinder society scenarios or adventure path books?

More importantly, do you like it?

Personally, I love Starfinder.

We're starting Against the Aeon Throne next week, I hope. :-)

Evening all. What did I miss?

I killed Strahd. Mace of Disruption to his pointy noggin. He was under 25hp and failed his WIS save. Turned into a spray of ash. Barovia is free of his curse.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well, that seemed easy. First edition would have had the party drive a stake through his heart, as well.

Celestial Healer wrote:

Had a player tell me last night he would probably not be returning to this campaign. In 33 years of playing with good friends I've never had this happen. I mean some people have come and gone over the years but they weren't close friends. It won't affect our friendship but it did hit me harder than I expected and I've been in a really dark depression all day.

So yeah. You missed that.

No one missed me. I mean I was cool about getting my dog a little better trained (and me!) by our dog trainer. I also mowed the lawn before the second coming of Noah's Flood. Game wise, we're still trying to figure out the best way to disrupt things. I still think we're going about it wrong...

Up and at them Treeforters!

Another beautiful Monday to be had!

Time to get up and put my Monkey carcass through the Stairmaster for an hour, then head off to fight the good fight against fraudsters big and small!

Life is a beautiful thing! Enjoy the heck out of it!

Well, Patrick's last-minute business flight to the USA heartland was disrupted when a deranged chipmunk somehow got loose on the plane and savagely attacked the beverage cart. Meanwhile, Gary shed tears of joy when he heard the Farmer's Almanac was predicting 10 feet of snow and months of below freezing temperatures for the winter. Across town, Scott was still stuck in that hell hole called.....NO, WAIT! That's my soap opera.
